Ethan Stone is young, single and carefree. His days are spent earning the cash he needs to enjoy life and escape from his monotonous day to day existence. His nights are meant for fun, and to Ethan that means dancing, drinking, and recreational drugs at his favourite club, Bacchanalia, before indulging in shameless and nameless sex. The last thing Ethan wants is a relationship - of any kind.Karl is older than he cares to remember, having lost his life many years ago. He never thought he would be able to find someone to take away the pain. Then he found his soul mate, Zayn, the man who captured his heart. He can’t imagine anyone else occupying that space in his heart, or bed. All that changes when one morning as he watches the dawn break from the rooftop of their apartment, Karl catches a scent on the early morning breeze and it sends him reeling. He’d always thought Zayn was the one for him; but the way the scent sends his mind spinning in a million different directions confuses him.Is it possible to have two soul mates? When Karl and Zayn finally meet Ethan, the chemistry is instant between them and there is only one way for this to play out. Will Zayn be happy to accept a third person in their relationship? Will Karl be able to restrain his need, or will the night take their connection to a whole new level? Will there be enough room for Ethan in Karl’s heart too? More importantly, will Ethan run away once he discovers the dark secret Karl keeps hidden from the outside world, or can he accept it and potentially find what’s been missing from his life?**Please note this book contains references to drug use**
I live in Leeds a vibrant city in the North of the UK. I’ve always loved reading, and one of my fondest memories from childhood was the weekly visits to the library with my dad. It always seemed such a magical place to escape into through the books I read on a weekly basis.
I’d not really thought about writing in my adult life until I was introduced to the world of Fanfiction and after reading so many I found myself making friends through this new media. My friend, Lori, told me to have a go at writing one, and I did. That work took on a life of its own and opened my eyes to the possibilities. This allowed me to get used to plotting a story and while making the characters my own. I also started to beta/pre read for others and discovered, that much to my surprise, they valued my opinion and input.
Making the move to write M/M or slash as it’s known, took me a little longer. After becoming good friends with a wonderful lady from Illinois called Angela, who told me (repeatedly), “You should write slash, I think you’d be good at it.” I shied away from the idea for so long, but the seed was firmly sown in my mind and soon took root and a life of its own. I decided to write a short piece as a surprise gift for Angela’s birthday that year. Emailing it to her, given the time difference between the UK and US this meant I was desperately waiting for her to see it and I think I heard her delighted scream.
Thanks to this, and working on writing group competition, I soon found that I preferred writing M/M to M/F.
In 2013 fate intervened and I lost my job. Through my new one, I met Nicole Colville, and the rest is history. This marked the start of a beautiful friendship. She encouraged me to make the switch to writing original fiction, and I signed up to Nano Wri Mo 2013, but due to changing jobs I couldn’t do it. In 2014 I signed up again, and smashed the 50K word goal in 30 days, with a story I love and am proud of.
I’ve been beta/pre reading for Nicole over 17 books now (including the 10 shorts in Knights) and the confidence she inspires in me has been invaluable in me joining this anthology, even though I think the word ‘no’ doesn’t feature in her vocabulary.
This amazing book drags you in from the first line on the first page. What's better than a dark brooding man? A dark brooding vampire! Louisa Mae holds nothing back and delivers an incredibly sexy read, the book told in three parts each part by a different character. An unusual approach but it works so well, keeping you wondering what the other character is thinking until it's their turn to share. Karl older than he remembers now lives out a hedonistic lifestyle with his soulmate, Zayn, a man who's soul called out to him, drawing him in. Ethan lives life on the edge, with no commitments or any desires to do anything but what he wants, which is to have sex with as many men as he wants when he wants. What will happen when Zayn senses the same calling from this young man? Is Zayn willing to share his man and his bed? Will Ethan want to be claimed and owned by this dark man? No teasers here, just a damn good book that needs to be read.
Two of my favourite things in books.....Menage and Vampires and here we have both of those.....Karl, Zayn and Ethan...so beautiful, hot and sexy together......I loved how the book was done in three parts (well four if you count the epilogue)...Karl's pov, Zayn's pov and then Ethan.......I don't even think I can pick a favourite MC...I loved them all...Karl the hot sexy vampire and Zayn his sexy soulmate and then Ethan their new sexy slutty soulmate...Ethan just loved sex and when he finally meets Karl and Zayn they hit it off...When all three are together...omg....seriously they know how to go at it...Damn...I love this book x
I'll admit. It's been a long time since I read a vampire book. But if this is what I have to look forward to if I take up reading them again? Then sign me up! This book was refreshing, intense, mind-blowing and off the charts hot....like really off the charts.....like not in the same universe hot. Karl was the exact amount of brooding, intensity that he needed to be without being over the top. Zayn was simply beautiful. And Ethan.....well, he was just Ethan....until he wasn't....because he became something more when he finally met Zayn and Karl. And the three of them together? Breathtaking. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy.
Okay , this whole book is one non stop tease, foreplay at it's best... It is so hot , so intense, with the need to Dominate so strong. There is absolutely nothing soft or gentle in this book. lt most definitely was not what l expected.
The characters are all so intense, gorgeous , and confidant. Karl is such an Alpha, nothing can stand in his way , or resist him, when he is on the hunt for his soul mate. He already has his mate in Zayn, with whom he fulfills his never ending sexual urges, so why can he sense another ?
OMG, Ethan is just strutting around like a peacock, he is cocky, self assured , and wants non stop fun , with no strings attached. When he meets Karl and Zayn, his whole world spins on it's axis, the three of them together are explosive....
This book is very well written , the characters are so deep and strong, definitely a story you want to devour all at once. Phew...
Do we have a treat for you! I completed Louisa Mae’s Dawn series, consisting of Before the Dawn, After the Dawn and A New Dawn. I will be taking a look at each of these individually, starting right now, with Before the Dawn. Before the Dawn is a tantalizing vampiric ménage that made my Kindle hot to the touch, while exciting the interest of my nether regions.
I love the way Before the Dawn is told in three parts, as established soulmates Karl and Zayn discover there is another, Ethan, who is meant for them. Each gives his perspective and internal thoughts, with an epilogue that solidifies their individual contributions. It might seem odd to tell their story in this fashion, but it captures insight into each man, enhancing our connection to them.
Vampire Karl doesn’t recall how old he truly is, as he was abandoned upon his “rebirth”. On the surface, Karl is dark and brooding. But, don’t let that fool you. When it comes to Zayn and Ethan, he has a protective streak and a metaphoric heart that beats for just them. Both Zayn’s and Ethan’s scents issue a call to Karl, a connection he’s unable to avoid.
Human Zayn desires all that Karl can give him, which is a lot considering Karl’s stamina as a vampire. Zayn suppresses his dominant side, playing a submissive role for the most part, but there are times when he feels the need to take charge. Zayn initially has his doubts about what will happen with Karl when Ethan enters their sanctum. However, deep down he knows it is the right thing and harbors a smoldering desire deep in his gut.
‘Before the Dawn’ is a tantalizing vampiric ménage that made my Kindle hot to the touch
Human Ethan is the love them, actually, fuck them and leave them type. He doesn’t do repeat hook-ups and absolutely no relationships. He is cocky and self-assured in his quest for the next notch on his bedpost. Enjoying his club life, he seeks out his next “victim.” The latest is a couple (Karl and Zayn) who promise to be an extraordinarily good time. But is he the one in control?
Karl and Zayn alone, are enough to satisfy each other’s carnal desires, fulfilling their insatiable sexual needs. So why does Karl catch the scent of another and experience an irresistible pull that can’t be denied? Zayn realizes they need to explore the connection and he himself feels the pull to Ethan. It takes one night for all of their existences to change, as Ethan becomes a part of them and the emotion and heat ratchets to new heights.
I really enjoy Before the Dawn’s depiction of vampires. It is unique and different, giving these creatures a more human-like existence, while retaining the basic vampire premise. Karl, Zayn, and Ethan are intense, confident, and quite the lookers. The connection they share is all alpha male, yet there is a tenderness that strengthens them as a unit.
Stay tuned as we learn more about this trio, when Gabriel, Karl’s sire, enters the picture with my review of After the Dawn, book 2 in the must-read-in-order Dawn series.
This was the first book I've read from this author and I was interested to see her take on a vampire story and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I've definitely never read one like it! Karl is an old vampire, abandoned at birth so to speak, but one who oozes power and authority, but also has a softer side when he's with his human partner Zayn who he accepts as his soulmate for life. Sparks and tensions fly when he then catches a new scent on the breeze and is compelled to search out Ethan who is a hot, single and carefree man who enjoys club life in every way he can. What non of them realise, especially Ethan is that his one incredibly hot night with Karl and Zayn will change his and their lives for ever. I really loved this new take on a vampire romance and found the book very difficult to put down. There are extremely hot moments and also some very tense moments in the journeys of the three men and I couldn't wait to see how it all played out. The story is told from all three of the men's perspectives, each in turn, but Karl is ultimately in charge of it all. I definitely would recommend this book and I can't wait for the next chapter in their lives.
Take an existing relationship, shake it up a little and tell the story of that shake up from each of the protagonists perspectives. An interesting short read.
I'll admit I do prefer my MM more on the romantic side but every now and then I like to take a break from that. What better way to do that than with an erotic MMM vampire tale. This is the story of vampire Karl. He and his fated mate Zayn have been together for years and are blissfully happy. Until one day when Karl picks up the scent of a mysterious other man. Karl can't keep away from seeking out the owner of this scent - his other mate Ethan. But what of Zayn. Luckily Zayn and Ethan are also hot for each other. If you enjoy stories of hot man-on-man-on-man action this book is for you. The scenes between the three men are HOT!! Yum!
