This is only the second book I have read by this author, and it was as great a read as the other one. I was kept guessing as to the identity of the bad guy, and was surprised when that identity was revealed. Liam was an awesome character with some hang ups and insecurities, which only made him more likable. Awesome read

I'm such a fan of amnesia story and Killer Amnesia was a well-written one! I liked how it wasn't obvious (at least to me) who the killer was and even though I probably could have guessed it, I didn't, which was fun.

Emma was a good main character. I felt bad for her and how difficult it was to NOT remember what had happened to her. The flashbacks were written very well and I could feel her pain from trying to remember.

The romance was okay. I felt like it was a bit sudden, but I guess with the book only being 224 pages it needed to move quickly.

All in all, I really enjoyed Killer Amnesia and recommend it.

"Killer Amnesia" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. I'm a little tired of suspense novels based around amnesia, but I decided to give this one a try anyway. Emma survives a potentially fatal hit-and-run but can't remember who was in the other vehicle or what true crime she was looking into for her next book. Who wants her dead? And not only is someone trying to kill her before her memory returns but that person is setting up her and the detective to take the blame for several murders.

The suspense came from trying to survive while uncovering whodunit and also from the detective potentially being called away to testify in court at any time. Emma was brave and knew some self-defense, but she also knew when she could use some help. The hero felt like he wasn't worthy of her trust because he'd previously let someone down who had depended on him. The main characters were engaging, and I cared about what happened to them. They both questioned why God sometimes doesn't step in to prevent suffering but learned to trust God when life felt out of control. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting novel.

I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

Sherri Shackelford ups the scary suspense in Killer Amnesia!
I loved the sleepy little town of Redbird, Texas, but all is not as it seems. Deputy Liam McCourt won't rest until he unravels the mystery of who is trying to kill investigative journalist, Emma Lyons. It would seem her nosing around in unsolved crimes has put her in the crossfire. Shackelford puts her characters in some dangerous and creepy situations, but it's hard to read with your eyes closed so I kept going!

I can normally figure out "the who" and "the why" of a Love Inspired Suspense, but this one had me guessing most of the way through it. I really enjoyed the home base setting in Blanche's Bed and Breakfast. The epilogue ties the whole story together in a sweet and satisfying conclusion. Big happy sigh!

KILLER AMNESIA by Sherri Shackelford is the wonderfully crafted suspense filled story of investigative journalist Emma Lyons and Deputy Liam McCourt.

Deputy Liam McCallister, while working with the Dallas Police Gang Unit, is shot and presumed dead by the Serpent Brotherhood’s leader who they are after in order to prosecute for multiple crimes. To keep the fact that he’s alive, they put Liam in the protection program changing his name to Deputy Liam McCourt and having him working a small berg of a town called Redbird, Texas until the case can be prosecuted and he can return as a witness.

On a rainy night Liam gets a radio call asking for assistance on a one car accident with a person injury. Upon arrival, he’s told it’s not an injury, but rather a fatality. Liam kicks into high gear once he finds the woman in the car is very much alive. The woman immediately has trust in the man that found her not only to get her out of her car which is rapidly filling with water, but that he would keep her safe. The problems only begin with getting her out of the car and up the cliff. Emma Lyons has no idea who she is, where she’s from and only vaguely that a white truck ran her off the road. Later while in the hospital, she is sure that it was a deliberate action and that someone meant her harm. But why?

From that first meeting at the wreck site, there seems to be an attraction of some sort between Liam and Emma. Liam, having had a rough childhood tossed from foster home to foster home always feeling undeserving of a “normal” life and then having to lie about who he is and why he’s there, tries to keep thing professional and keep his distance knowing there can be no future between them. Emma feels peace and protected from day one when Liam is around. She can see in his eyes that something is troubling him and he’s been forthright with her from the beginning, but she can’t help but be drawn to him. When more threats and harm comes to Emma under his watch, Liam is determined to not only solve who is doing this and why, but to keep her safe from all harm regardless to the danger to himself. Once they know who Emma is and her profession, will it give them clues to find the answers? When a man that Emma had recently talked to while researching a book she’s writing turns up dead in Emma’s house, they know she had to have stepped on some serious toes. Is Emma’s investigation for the books connected to the murder and the attacks on her? Can an old cold case be getting too hot for the person that committed the crimes? Will the trail of clues lead them back closer than they thought possible? Is a bad cop always a bad cop or can a bad cop be a good cop? Can Liam find the person trying to harm Emma and not lose his heart in the process? Is there a future for Liam and Emma?

KILLER AMNESIA is a wonderful example of a love inspired suspense story that has you turning pages and hoping for a happily ever after ending. I thoroughly loved this story with the amnesia angle and Emma fighting to remember who she was right alongside the suspense of finding out whodunit and why mixed with just the right amount of romance. The author does a wonderful balancing act to mix just the right amount of each to come out with a fabulous story. I would definitely recommend this book – which I already have to family and friends. I will for sure be checking out more books from this author.

I loved "Killer Amnesia" by Sherri Shackleford. This book was hard to put down and kept me guessing until the very end. This was the first book I've read by Sherri Shackleford, but it won't be my last.

The book starts out with a woman who was in a car accident and ends up getting amnesia from that. The detective that rescues her tries to help her figure out who she is and who ran her off the road. It gets harder and harder for the detective to figure this mystery out and also trying to get the woman safe.

I highly recommend this book if you enjoy good, clean, suspenseful reads.

Deputy Liam McCourt responds to a nearby call, and finds a young woman who has been run off the road. After taking her to emergent care, she is diagnosed with amnesia.

Emma Lyons doesn't remember who she is, and the more she and Liam try to retrace her steps the greater the danger is, as it leads them to a killer who is determined to end their investigation.

Liam bounced around a lot as a child, but found stability in his faith. He is a steady rock for Emma to lean on during everything, with losing her memory and trying to recall what she had found out that made someone want her gone. He had a troubled past, but getting to know Emma he wonders if a guy like him does have a chance at love.

Filled with tension and suspense, but there are also moments where this book breathes and has lighter moments as well. I like how both Emma and Liam rely on their faith to see them through. Emma is very brave and faces the unknown courageously. There are some great side character, both fun, and shady. Fantastic plot, with well developed characters, well-fleshed out background stories, and twists that took me by surprise. Highly recommend this fantastic suspense novel!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I love amnesia stories, but this one is especially well written! How awful it must feel to suddenly not know who you are, and even worse if someone is trying to kill you - WHY?? That would be REALLY scary! Not only are you trying to outrun this person but you have no idea why so you don't have a frame of reference to guide you. Fortunately, for Emma Lyons, she has Deputy Liam McCord. She almost dies in a car accident (is pronounced dead actually!) but is taken to the hospital by Liam and eventually recovers but several attempts are made on her life. Liam sticks close to her as the two of them try to unravel the "why" and the "who are you" riddles! Liam has secrets of his own. These two characters are wonderful! I wanted them to solve the mystery/suspense and then live happily ever after .... that took quite awhile! The ending is very unexpected and all the action keeps you turning those pages until you don't know who is who and what is happening! The secondary characters are also fantastic! I loved this book and highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed the suspense in this one. I found the romance a little cheesy and more "kissy" than I prefer but I'm not a big romance reader anymore so I'm sure others will enjoy that aspect more. Kissing in the middle of danger is a big pet peeve on mine. I loved the ending. Very sweet and satisfying!

This had a couple of things I'm not big on; amnesia and MC is reporter. Neither ended up being a turnoff. This was suspenseful and more complicated than the average Love Inspired Suspense series books usually are. Liked the MCs. I will definitely check out other Shackelford books.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Killer Amnesia. I really enjoyed this book. It's good to have Sherri as a LIS author. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. It's an awesome story, I know you are going to love this one.

Investigative Journalist Emma Lyons was driving just outside of Redbird when her car was forced off the road and crashed. When she is rescued by a deputy she can't remember who she is only that someone ran her off the road.

Deputy Liam MacCallister worked undercover in Dallas but his cover was blown and he was injured. The Gang he had infiltrated believed him to be dead but thanks to US Marshalls he is working as a deputy in Redbird. He is called to a fatal accident only to find a lovely woman that is very much alive but with no memory. As he helps her research her past killers come out of the wood work Can he keep her safe?

A journey of fear, frustration, and trust in each other. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

Liam and Emma are the perfect pair. They just don't know it, yet. Especially Emma as she is obviously being targeted but can't remember why or who the culprit might be. Her amnesia after a car accident is almost as frightening to her as the attempts to harm her. But Liam, a policeman with problems of his own is there for her every step of the way. Emma puts her trust in Liam. Now if he could only feel worthy of that trust.
Sherri Shackelford has done a marvelous job of creating this intriguing story with equal parts suspense and romance. I loved the developing romance between Emma and Liam, both so deserving of love but afraid to accept it as offered. The suspense will leave you on the edge of your seat, and I bet you'll be surprised when you finally learn the whole truth at the end.
I received this book from the author but was under no obligation to write a review.

Emma was found nearly dead with no memory about herself of what even happened. Deputy Liam is on a mission to find out what happened and to protect Emma when its clear someone is still trying to silence her.

I loved a good mystery suspense book and this book was it for me. I loved seeing everything as it came to light, finding out who Emma was, and wondering just who was after her and why. Plus there is a bit of a romance with her and Liam since they are working closely together sometimes sparks fly and I enjoyed seeing that. Then there was the whole mystery surrounding why she got her amnesia or was attacked in the first place, wondering when the person might strike next, who it was and all that good mystery stuff I enjoy so much. Overall great book I loved it.

Wow and wow. The “amnesia” twist at the beginning of this story works very well. Emma cannot remember who she is, and has no idea who or why someone would be attempting to kill her. As the story progresses, the clues seemed to narrow down to a couple of suspects, and the reader is kept guessing. The ending is suspenseful, tense, and somewhat surprising. I liked the team of Emma and Liam. They worked together well to solve the crime, and their romance did not diminish the intensity of the story. The pacing of this story is perfect, and Sheri Shackelford hit it out of the park with this one.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed the ending of this book allot because of everything coming together at once! Emma getting her memory back, Liam realizing that his past does not define his future and another man Bishop taking courage to confront evil.
Liam and Emma meet under life and death struggle and must race against evil to survive the future. Will they deny the facts or face them? Very exciting read !

Giving it 4 stars because although the story was a good one, with a good message, I was not on the edge of my seat. I was still surprised by the outcome. I, just like the main characters, was fooled into suspecting the wrong man for the crime.
