High Arcanist Delaney D’Vaire is the world’s only dark wizard, something that has alienated him from his people since birth. Orphaned as a child, he is shuffled around until the Prism Wizard sees his potential, steps in, and enrolls him in school. Though he never truly feels like he belongs, Delaney excels. In this addition to the D’Vaire series Delaney is front and center as he meets quirky, scientist vampire Lord Grigori. I loved Grigori and his absentmindedness. It was so cute when he panicked after missing their first date by accident. These two were a great match for the other. Delaney’s familiar was a riot with what he did to Grigori while he was sleeping.

Delaney is introduced earlier in the series and is the first person to be given sanctuary at D'Vaire. As a dark wizard, the majority of people are afraid of him and his early life was not easy. Since coming to D'Vaire, he has found his family but still has the insecurity from his earlier years. Grigori is a Vampyr Lord and is the son of the leader of the Vampyr Clutch. He is more comfortable in his lab and dreads public outings. When Greggory, Delaney's familiar, lands on him at one such public

I want to be a D'Vaire!
I just love, love, love the series! The World building is excellent. I get so involved in the stories that when I have to pause and attend to reality, I have to take a few minutes to get my mind from the world of wizards, dragons and magic to get back to the real world boring work, chores, running errands. This book has caused me to lose sleep, overstay my lunch hour, and find a nice cosy corner just to be left alone to read. Not that it's a bad thing! I cannot wait for th ...more

I love dark!!!!
Who doesn’t love reading about a dark corky wizard and a sexy absent minded vampire?!!! I totally enjoyed Delaney and Grigori story. My heart was squeezed in the first chapter I wanted to adopt Del from the start! Grigori... He was funny as hell but so darn cute at the same time. One of the best things is every time he interacts with Gregory Del’s familiar. So darn cute! I truly enjoy it and totally recommend the entire series. Happy reading!

I've been consumed by this series and each book gives me a new favorite character, and this one was no exception! I love all the D'Vaire characters and it's hard to pick a favorite because they're all so unique and wonderful! This book gave us two MCs who are quirky and snarky, and I loved every minute of it! Do yourself a favor and allow yourself to get immersed in this world!

Enjoyed
I enjoy this series... I'm glad Delaney finally got his HEA.... If there's anything that this series is lacking its bite!! This is definitely a fluff series for sure.... You have these Sentinels and Fallen Knights but nothing showing there skills for real!! No fight scenes of anything... The author talks about all these skills these characters have but doesn't show it... Still enjoy the series and looking forward to the next book... ...more

This has been by far my favorite of the series. I absolutely loved both Delaney and Grigori along with Delaney’s familiar Greggory. I found the story to be very touching in places and we finally got the answers to Duff’s behavior. I will say though that the reveal wasn’t in any way a surprise. All in all, I really loved this book.

Jessamyn Kingley lives in Nevada where she begs the men in her head to tell her their amazing stories which she dutifully writes it all down in what has become a small mountain of notebooks. She falls in love with each couple and swears whatever book she wrote last is her absolute favorite.
