I move in close behind him, my attention dancing across the beads of water on his skin that are sparkling like crystals when the fading light hits them. This much awaited book lands on my kindle and everything gets put on hold. I'm a sucker for Good Guy romances, ones where hero is a provider & takes charge in a "I got this" kinda way. Ryan Willis certainly made me go week in the knees with his shirtless sexy physique and crooked dimpled smile.

Jodi Ellen Malpas is a top fave of mine. Her books are always very well written, superbly plotted, and thoroughly engaging. This book was no different. I particularly enjoyed seeing previous characters while getting to know the new ones. The romance was stellar and the suspense kept me on my toes.
Here’s what I loved:
JEM writes some seriously hot male leads. I adored Ryan from the very beginning. Hannah was a total sweetheart. I love these two together. Ryan and Hannah’s chemistry is sizzling. I ...more

Leave Me Breathless is the newest standalone romance from Jodi Ellen Malpas full of sweetness, heat, and some added suspense. The story is connected to The Protector but can be read as a complete standalone and doesn't spoil anything from the other book. For fans of The Protector though, you will get a few fun cameo's in this book.

If you’re a fan of Jodi Ellen Malpas you’ll no doubt be dying to flip the pages of her latest standalone, Leave Me Breathless. The trademarks of this author are all apparent, the ones we’ve all come to love from her, but in Ryan Willis, although still possessive and commanding, we have hero somewhat ‘softer’ for want of a better word, and we loved him! In saying that, Ryan Willis very much retains th ...more

Title: Leave Me Breathless
Author: Jodi Ellen Malpas
I have never uttered the words “ I do not like Jodi Ellen Malpas’s books” and I am not going to start now.
Leave Me Breathless is Jodi Ellen Malpas's latest standalone and it is lighter, fresher and has a healthy dose of humour which was unexpectedly good.

This book is set in a small town so for those that LOVE a small town romance, this book is it.

You are going to love Hannah and Ryan!

I’ve been going back and forth about my thoughts and about what to rate this book. While it was better for me than any other book that JEM has written, I didn’t really find anything special about it.
This was a typical story of a woman with a secret and she falls for a man in the town she’s hiding in. While there was the suspense and the angst between the couple, I was still waiting for the story to actually suck me into it. Most of this book was Hannah hiding secrets and the day to day building ...more

I was excited to read another book by JEM so imagine my surprise when I realized how much this book is like the Julia Robert's movie (and the book), Sleeping With The Enemy!
It's frustrating to say the least...not that it isn't good, it's just that I've come to expect so much more from someone who came up with Jesse Ward.
Ryan is friends and works with Jake from The Protector. Ryan decides he's had enough of the security business and moves back to his small hometown in the middle of nowhe ...more

This was a boring, unoriginal, predictable story.
Found it really hard to get into. I've read a few of this author's books but this didn't even seem like her writing.
We get the heroes POV but JEM seems to be one of those authors who feels the need to have the hero constantly swear so he sounds like a male POV. It got a bit boring plus he's not very alpha male.

Since “This Man” Jodie Ellen Malpas has been a “Go-To” Author for me – her writing is always flawless. I have always felt that she creates two very different story settings – either her male leads are Alpha to the core or the female leads are unconventional. Either way, her characters are always so well developed it almost hurts to leave them when the book ends.
“Leave me BREATHLESS” as Standalone follow up / spin-off from “The Protector” is no different.

I read The Controversial Princess and was hooked on JEM from there, so when the opportunity to read her gem again, I was like heck yeah!!
I must say that even though this was different from her previous books, IMO, I still got lost in Hannah & Ryan's story. Hannah running from her past & Ryan wanting a break from his "never know what will happen" kind of job. Hannah having a creative and free spirit was different to Ryan's always needing the next adrenaline hit but the one thing they both had in ...more

Wow! This book was absolutely wonderful. It was light, fun, heart breaking, but still melancholic and sort of dark in a way. I don't know if that makes any sense, it will when you read it. It's made the list of one of my all time favourite books!
It's suspenseful, intense, sweet, full of passion, intriguing, fun, melancholic at times, it's wonderful!

It's been a while since I read a JEM story. And I loved getting back into her worlds with Leave Me Breathless.
I jumped into this one completely blind - didn't even realise it was kind of connected to The Protector until I saw Jake and Cami's name written.
And I ended up completely and utterly adoring this story.

Leave Me Breathless is another great standalone from Jodi. A little lighter than what we typically see from her, a sweeter more earthy romance this time around. The novel centres around the Hero Ryan Willis, an ex MI5 agent, turned private security who has decided to pack it in and live the quiet life to raise his 10 year old daughter Alex. Ryan is a burly alpha male with a strong protective moral compass, he is an amazing father and has a huge heart, I found the contrast of his tough exterior V

I don't really know how to rate this book. I'll be honest, I struggled to read this and it took me over a week to read. I was first attracted to the book cover and description and I've heard many great things about Jodi's books so I requested an ARC copy of this book. I think the premise of the book is great but lacked on execution. I didn't find myself getting lost in any of the characters so it was difficult to connect with the story as a whole.

Nothing great about this one. This book has my favorite trope 'Woman on the Run' and the book is filled with pages and pages of how the h is running scared and afraid of everything but we get only one paragraph of what abuse she endured.

I was really looking forward to reading this and was so excited going in so it kills me to say that I just wasn’t feeling it. I tried so hard to connect to the story and the characters but they seemed so disjointed and I was not feeling their attraction at all. The writing felt way to fast-paced and slightly stilted with a lot of telling not showing happening. I am missing the depth and detail that really pulls me into the story. I did like the storyline introduced and was curious about Hannah a

Leave Me Breathless is the story of a woman in hiding who happens upon a man who specializes in personal protection. Their meet-cute is unique-he hits her with his car! Also, the intro to the story gives us a glimpse at Jake and Cami (From The Protector).
Hannah is on the run, but you don't immediately know why. She is trying to take her life back and is opening an art store in a tiny town in the English countryside. Ryan is taking a sabbatical from private security and returning home. Both ...more
