Fio Régale es una joven pelirroja de veintidós años. About the author

French writer Martin Page is the author of the bestselling novel, How I Became Stupid, which won the Euroregional schools’ literature prize, an award given by Belgian, Dutch and German students. His novels have been translated in a dozen languages. He also writes for children (I am an earthquake, Conversation with a chocolate cake…).
He is a recipient of the Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowship. He lives in Paris.

บรรยากาศ และตัวละครในงานเขียนของ มาร์แต็ง ปาจ มีอะไรให้น่าติดตามเสมอ ตัวละครที่น่าสนใจ ดูแปลกแปร่ง แต่พบเจอได้ ความคิดความรู้สึกของตัวละครที่กระเทาะออกมาให้คนอ่านได้สำรวจความนึกคิดของตัวเองไปพร้อมกัน มุกศิลปะ สื่อบันเทิง แฟชั่นแบบฝรั่งเศสที่ดูแสบสันจะฮาก็ได้หรือไม่ฮาก็ได้
งานเขียนของ ปาจ มักทำให้นึกถึงหนังอย่างเรื่อง Amélie
แต่ตัวละครเอกในเล่มนี้อย่างฟิโอ นั้นรันทดเกินไป อีกเล่มของ ปาจ ชื่อเรื่อง ช้ำจนชิน ยังจบแฮปปี้นะ แต่เล่มนี้ไม่ สงสารฟิโอ (ต่อให้ฟิโอไม่รู้สึกว่าชีวิตตัวเองน่าสงสารเลยก็ตามที)

I've been coming back to this book for years now and I always enjoy it as a very special treat. Every time I find it fascinating. The story has so many layers, so many interpretations, the prose is full of intention, poetic, and every word and image have a purpose.

La primera vez que leí este libro, no podía despegarme de él. Amé cada frase, cada personaje y cada escena con una locura que sólo puedo explicarles con la frase: me enamoré perdidamente.
Este año, me lo leyeron y volví a enamorarme pero también lloré.
Conocí las historias de Fio en 2008 y, doce años después, puedo decir que hay cosas que nunca cambiar. Martin Page es un autor que se encarga de caricaturizar a los personajes para minimizar el daño que la realidad nos hace a diario. Este es un cuento divertido, jocoso y jovial de cómo poco a poco los estándares y las relaciones interpersonales nos van convirtiendo en lo que somos.
Lo más importante de este libro no es la historia, es la manera en que está narrada.
Sin duda, mi libro favorito ayer, hoy y siempre.

Nu pot să-i dau lui Martin Page mai puțin de 5 stele. Pur și simplu îmi place stilul său scriitoricesc, sunt deopotrivă îndrăgostită de personajele sale obișnuite cu neobișnuitul și de metaforele pe care le strecoară naratorul în discursul diegetic. Precum creațiile sale din cerneală și imaginație, Martin Page are o perspectivă aparte asupra lumii, poate un pic ciudată, dar cu siguranță susceptibila filosofării și evoluției cognitive. Primul personaj feminin principal pe care îl cunosc în scrierile sale și îmi place cum i-a structurat personalitatea și povestea. Ideea unui moment-libelulă care să-ți marcheze parcursul existențial posterior mă incită și mă gândesc serios să îl găsesc pe al meu. Mi-a mai plăcut ideea retrospectivei copilului asupra adultului: să fiu o persoană pr care varianta mea de 8 ani să o recunoască. Concluzia? Următoarea carte scrisă de Martin Page, vă rog!

Un excelente libro, es fresco y fluye rápidamente, pero no por eso hay que dejarse llevar por la aparente insustancialidad, pues detrás de cada párrafo hay un profundo análisis de nuestra realidad, como individuos que actualmente nos hemos vuelto fríos y falsos.
Debo hacer notar que el autor es francés, no inglés o estadounidense, por lo que su nombre debe ser pronunciado en francés.
