Fear Justice (The Fear Chronicles Book 1) brings us a fast-paced, young adult, spy thriller from the pen of C. C. Bolick. Seventeen-year-old Rena Mason has one thing on her mind; graduating her senior year at high-school, getting a full scholarship so she can study aeronautical engineering and most of all, getting out of the hick Florida town she has lived in since she was six-years-old. Rena used to love their life there but all that changed thre

Oh, Fear Justice blew my mind and now I am having trouble putting into words just how this book impacted me. This is a story about the discovery of oneself and how beautiful being different is.

This is a YA Urban Fantasy filled with action and adventure. From the first page, I was hooked and knew I was in it for the long haul. I finished this book in a night. The pacing is fantastic. C.C. Bolick knows how to balance her novel with action scenes and tension filled scenes, along with some romance t

I enjoyed this read, a sci-fi action story with a fast storyline. Occasionally I wondered if it was a bit too quick, but it didn’t hinder the story in any way. There’s a lot of room for this story to grow in the future books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

Wow! This is such a great book- full of action, suspense, and even a bit of mystery. Picture this. Situation, imagine that you're a senior in high school, Regina Mason, Rena for short. Your mom died a few years ago, and your dad has turned to drinking to drown his sorrows. A new student comes to your school one day, good looking but strange in that he wear gloves all the time, and always has his skin fully covered his arms and neck, even in the sweltering Florida heat where yo live. That is wher ...more

This is what might be called a young/adult thriller type of genre. I am not a young adult. Sometimes I’m not even an old adult (just a grown-up kid) but I really enjoyed this book. It sort of grabs you at the beginning...a young girl, pretty well raising her younger brother alone because their dad can’t seem to get past the death of their mother. And yet, this particular story is not that story. Rena, or Regina, seems to be a strong young girl who is fearless and the writing to paint a picture o ...more

In some ways this book reminded me of the Heroes series. A mysterious woman who had special powers and then disappeared. Her connection to people in Rena’s hometown and herself. Her father who is no good and yet she still stays to protect her younger brother. When her father disappears, Rena suspects kidnapping, and she gets herself in big trouble until she is rescued by an Agent. Agent Travis Payne has his own motives for seeking Rena out. She is his mission he must complete if he wants to stay ...more

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

This is the first book in The Fear Chronicles series. This is a really interesting read that is a combination of paranormal, fantasy and sci-fi. The story line follows 17 year old Rena Mason, her mother passed away and her father has fallen into alcohol so Rena stays and protects her little brother. Things take a weird twist when Renas father is kidnapped and Rena discovers that he isn’t who she thought he was. Rena soon discovers that not only was he

If you love to read a book and it takes you to another place then this series is for you. Rena is ready to get out of the small town and all the stress of living with a father who drinks and leaves her with her younger brother.
Suddenly she has to run from a man she don't know who or why he is after her and with the new boy at school to get away.
A thriller with some paranormal, sci fi, romance, strange people and a secret government agency is a great novel.

I received this from Voracious Readers Only in exchange for an honest review, this was a fast paced thriller for young adults. About a girl living in a campground with her drunk of a father and younger brother who she has to take care of. Enter the smouldering new student who makes a point to get her interest, then the action begins. This kind of read like a comic book with the main character coming into her own so quickly, but all in all a good read .

I received a free copy of this book via Voracious Readers Only. I thoroughly enjoyed it.........and read it all in one go! I was a tad nervous to begin with because some young adult heroes/heroines can be annoyingly vacuous which tends to make me not care about what happens to them! I very much cared about Rena, and will purchase the other books in the series.

Good book

I received this book for free and I am doing an honest review. Took me a few chapters to get into this book, but once I did it was actually pretty good. I’m normally not into too much sci-fi, so that part lost me a little, but I really enjoyed the storyline. Will be reading the next book to see what else happen.

C.C. Bolick is an engineer by day and author by night who loves mixing sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal. She writes young adult stories with twists you won't see coming and characters who deserve their happily ever after.
