Out of the frying pan, into the fire . . .

Courtney Archer is known for hosting the show Cooking with the Farmer’s Daughter . . . despite the fact that she’s actually a pediatrician’s daughter. Now she’s signed on for a role on The American Baking Battle. On this reality show, she can start developing a more authentic image for herself—and as a bonus, the usual backstabbin

I was so blessed to get an ARC (advances readers copy) of Rose Zediker’s (writing as Rosemarie Ross) new mystery book Cobbled to Death from her upcoming mystery series.

Courtney Archer, star of the cooking show “Cooking with the Farmers Daughter”, finds herself a person of interest in the murder of a contestant on the show “The American Baking Battle” where she has signed on to be a host. One of the contestants was murdered using her iron skillet filled with a cobbler she had baked and left on t

I gobbled up the first in this new food-themed series, thanks to snagging an ARC. Courtney Archer, star of "Cooking with the Farmer's Daughter" TV show, is a host on "The American Baking Battle" AND will do some on-site shooting of her own show with her producer, Eric., during the Baking Battle's off-time. Her firs "Farmer's Daughter" shoot leads to big trouble. Courtney's cobbler, baked in a cast iron pan, was used to kill one of the Baking Battle contestants! Courtney is now a person of intere ...more

An enjoyable read and a great mystery. The setting within a reality television cooking show was a lot of fun!

"Reality television, with its manufactured drama, wasn't my batch of brownies," thinks cooking show host Courtney Archer. But a role in a friendly baking contest show seems like a way to beef up her resume. Arriving on the set, Courtney finds real drama - tense exchanges between judges, tantrums from contestants, and then a dead body. Not what she'd signed up for at all!

Author Rosemarie Ross brings to life a large cast of suspicious characters and sets them loose in kitchens full of possible mu

Cobblered to Death is the first book in the Courtney Archer Mystery series and it does not disappoint. Here’s my warning though. Don’t go into the book assuming it’s a classic who-done-it because Rosemarie Ross will have you flipping pages and guessing throughout.
The story delves into the deeper issues of honesty and friendship while unwinding an intriguing mystery with delightful and personable characters. I highly recommend Cobblered to Death and cannot wait for the next book in the series!

A fun, fast-paced read! Courtney Archer is a somewhat old-fashioned heroine - fiercely loyal, intensely curious, brave to the point of foolhardiness at times - in a very modern world. The plot, which takes readers behind the scenes of a reality TV show built around a baking competition, offers not only a unique mystery to solve but multiple opportunities for "inside entertainment" scenes and a few food-based puns. Plus, there's both romantic intrigue and female friendship. This book hits the spo ...more

Cobblered to Death hits the cozy mystery mark. Fun and engaging, the author takes the reader through a maze of clues with a great reveal at the end. The characters, even though there were many, were fleshed out and believable. I enjoyed this book so much and can't wait for the sequel as the ending foreshadows. I look forward to more adventures with Courtney Miller and her baking escapades. The only downside: made me want to eat all the desserts!
