I liked this much more than the author's other llama book. This silly romp is about a girl feeding a pigeon, then the pigeons refusing to leave her alone. The text refers to the pigeons as "coos," which is pretty adorable, even if it will need a touch of explaining to younger kiddos. Some poop humor in there about the pigeons pooping all over everything in the girl's room. I enjoyed the clever ending of how the girl gets rid of the coos (making someone ELSE feed them).

Saw on a list that was promoting strong female characters, and I am not sure I completely agree with that. The main character is female, but not sure if she is actually a role model. This is a "love it or hate it book" there will be no in between for most people. Something was missing. The ending is the saving grace where you learn there is a good answer to the situation after all, but still did not endure itself to me even then.

My children read and enjoyed this book. One gave it 3.5 stars the other gave 4. They both loved the illustrations and the coo poo elicited giggles.
