This was part of a bundle I purchased called THE COMPLETE DADE COOLEY SERIES BOOKS 1-3.
Parts of this story were engaging, but as with the first two in the series, this author throws so many villains at you. Then when you come to the ending, he has all of the villains with motives, and it becomes to weighed down. You need a score sheet to try and make sense of it all.
Cheating off page, no cliffhanger, and an ending, I'm still not sure of. Crude words and Lord's name using in vain a lot. Editing issues too.
I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. This is a clean story and a standalone. (ljb)

A very fast paced murder mystery, was quite difficult to put this one down. Some fun characters and scenarios. However I was personally very disappointed in the ending. It seemed a great let down and it just didn't match the rest of an otherwise great novel that had the potential to be an excellent perplex mystery.

Mesmerising
A most unusual story, absorbing and perplexing. My subconscious ran this as a black and white movie, part Bogart, part history lesson and part Marx Brothers. The dialogue is superb with hidden hilarity. Once I got to grips with the style it was hugely enjoyable.

Got this in a book trade. Finished it, but was nothing that I would want to read again.
