It led with a hanging for two people desperate to survive in the hard, gritty frontier of the American West, but then it grew into something more if they were courageous enough to grab hold. Give me a hard fought story full of desperation and survival in the historic West paired with a romance pair that have to grow as individuals and work against a dangerous situation together and I'm pleased as punch.

Ride the High Lonesome opens on a woman dead on her feet happening upon a hanging.

I wrote this book and recommend it to anyone who loves real history and fabulous descriptions of America's "high country" in the Rocky Mountain foothills. RIDE THE HIGH LONESOME is the first book of my new Men of the Outlaw Trail series. It is coming November 26, 2019. Can't believe anyone wouldn't enjoy this story about a man and a woman thrown together when the heroine is lost in outlaw country and she finds the hero being hung! She saves his life, and an adventure and sensuous love story ensu ...more

Kate Winters has spent three days wandering around all alone, after the wagon train she's traveling with is attacked by outlaws and she's the only survivor. She has very little chance of finding help, when by chance she stumbles across a gang hanging a cowboy so they can steal his cattle and she wisely stays hidden. Once they leave she notices the mans legs are still twitching and they didn't do a very good job of trying to hang him! She cuts him down, tends his wounds, he's the only person who ...more

An unforgiving, destitute land as far as the eye could see was all Kate Winter’s had to her name.
She was alive, panicked, but still alive, after the horrific attack.
Hanging, barely breathing with a little kick, was all the life that remained in Luke Bowden, until an Angel found him.

Two stranger’s brought together by fate in this wild, lawless land by a common bond.. Survival!

Rosanne Bittner is a master at creating lasting storylines, picturesque sceneries, and

One of my favorite authors ever Rosanne Bittner has once again done it again and in breathtakingly beautiful Rosanne Bittner style. I have loved Mrs Bittner books for 30 yrs now and I have never grown tired of her work. I Have read books by her untold multiple times. I could not put this book down until I finished it. Ride the High Lonesome was just as epic to me today as my first book I ever read by her was. I absolutely love this author’s writing. Rosanne Bittner is definitely oh so definitely ...more

Raw and poignant, Ride the High Lonesome seizes your attention from the start and keeps you spellbound until the end.

Fate intertwines Kate with Luke, at first simply for survival, and then as time goes on, as a peaceful solace to their hearts. In a time and place where surviving was a constant challenge, they provided motivation and strength to each other, quickly becoming the ideal match for each other. While both had a past that created mental wounds in desperate need of healing, that vulnera

Thanks goes to the publisher, via Net-Galley, for the opportunity to read and review Ride the High Lonesome by Roseanne Bittner, in advance of publication. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Ride the High Lonesome starts out brilliantly, pulling me in at the first page. After all, the heroine manages to save the hero, even though he’d been hanged and left for dead. I became excited over the possibilities with a beginning like that. The action continued with the

First off let me say Rosanne Bittner is my second favorite author, so her works of art line my library shelves with honor . I was beyond excited to get my hands upon this new novel of hers .
This historical romance takes place not too far after the civil war. Luke Bowden meets Kate Winters by divine intervention and his good luck ! He becomes beholden to her immediately after she saves his life from a hanging .
There comes a point in the first half of the book when a guest appearance from a

An action filled adventure story with a mildly steamy romance. This is my first book by this author and I found her descriptive prose about the country made me feel like I was there. The vast expanse of terrain, the Wild West lawlessness, the solitude of the unpopulated high country although the romantic couple managed to find more unsavory characters in the open terrain than in the nearest town, Laramie.

I had a difficult time with the romantic aspect as I didn’t really connect with Kate or Luk

It's been a long time since I've read a book from Roseanne Bittner and I was quite curious to dive in. Her new book Ride the High Lonesome is about a woman wandering alone for three days, after all the people on her wagon train were killed and she comes upon a man being hanged. This story takes place a few years after the Civil War and is about two people who have been through war and other loses. Both find it difficu

Bitter certainly deserves the moniker Queen of Western Romances. The woman does know how to write a captivating story. The reckless west was not for the weak. Kate has faced her challenges while Luke still battles inner demons. Yet he protects her after she saves his neck, literally. Inwardly they know they're made for each other, but it takes longer to convince him, of course. Bittner's book has it all: love, lust, gun fights, hearts of gold in sour people. I love reading her books because that ...more

Ok read. I really liked it at first, then it just got melodramatic. I love you but I can’t love you. I love you but let me leave you so we really know we love each other?!? Of course the never ending shoot’em up and no one goes to jail. The push and pull between Luke and Kate took away from liking them. I wishe there was a tad more backstory on both. Oh well I dragged through it. Not my favorite by far.

Received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley, for an honest review.
