Women must be given extra credit for balancing their personal and professional life.
Humans are not born with a manual guide that instruct them what to do, who to be and where to go next.

Shrishti's journey is similar to that. Shrishti - a girl with dreams and aspirations.
Her dilemma with love, career, ambition, lust, marriage, relationships, success and failure, infidelity and poor decision making keep messing up her life. Whether she achieves her heart's desires is something to look forward to.

The author keeps the narration realistic throughout the book. You are reminded of people whom you already know here and there. Smooth writing and flow of events keep one stuck with Shrishti.

Honey & the Moon is written with much love and care. You can see that the author has taken her time to develop the characters, giving ample to reasons to like her books even more, slowly and steadily revealing to the readers how her characters are the ones we encounter in our everyday life.

Having read Secrets, Sins and Struggles by Kamini Kusum, which was her debut novel, I was confident about reading this book. Her way of narrating stories with simplicity is impressive.

If you are looking for a light read, this one can do.

Honey and the Moon by Kamini Kusum, is an contemporary fiction novel. The story is about protagonist srishti, who is an highly aspiring person towards her career and progressive as well.

The story mostly deals around Srishti, how she balances her professional and personal life which is quite difficult for anyone. I liked the way author narrated it throughout. There are no exaggeration and I can feel like an ordinary story we faces in our real life.

The vocabularies are also lucid with an simple language used to narrate. The cover is created to be so modest and also the theme of red made it noticeable.

Overall, Honey and The Moon is penny plain and modest. An realistic story that makes you understand the reality and an good appreciate able intiative from the author to the society for this kind of stories.

Hey, first of all hello all the lovely readers out there, here is a genuin review I want to share with you all, this is the most lovely read i have ever read, HONEY & the MOON , whole of the story reloves around Srishti & the HR, who really waits long for her to marry her & till she doesn't gets the right one, the Mr. Perfect for him. Though after a long time, yes she gets into that relationship (marriage) with HR, she was unable to finf happiness, because happiness is always with the person where our heart wants to stay happy, where we want to be free, away from world, away from everything, the most safest place for our heart is the place having love & happiness for us. But Srishti wasn't happy with her married life because of her in-laws & she started finding her happiness somewhere else even after being married. Yes this is odd, but what else can one do??? This novel is really based on our this very era, whatever is going on in real day to day life, also the author puts light on all the post married scenes which are very common to find out anywhere these days. One main reason for reading this very book was that author is young & new innnovative ideas of the author attracted me as the title went really well with the plot. This novel should be read really by all the younsters to face up & come up with same issues, as this book highlights our day to day life exactly. It is based on our generation's situation only. "Within every hard achieving woman is a soft girl waiting to be loved."

Simple yet so uniquely composed, "Honey and the Moon" by Kamini Kusum brings to its readers a novel to set the heart on fire!

Struggling with love, lust, career, ambition, and stuck between her drive for success, failure, marriage, conflicts, depression and infidelity, Srishti's life gets messed up between several highs and lows. But a strong lady that she is, with a great courage to deal with life, will she succeed in mending her love life too?

Filled with humour, irony, sarcasm, drama, love and conflicts, the book is engaging right from the start.

With lucid language and smooth narration, the interesting plot never fails to impress the readers.

The author has smoothly merged the aura of perfect love, marital conflicts, work-place mishaps, pangs of infidelity and the pleasures of motherhood all in one book without over-stretching the concept.

Nature too manifests itself time and again when the readers are taken on an amazing tour among the adventurous lands of Andaman, Bali and Japan.

The most vibrant element that the book showcases is the strength that love alone can render, when even after losing everything that one had ever worked for, they feel satisfied, fulfilled and complete if they have their love by their side.

The character sketch is no doubt perfect with Srishti being the strong, confident women with a soft heart within that craves for pure love and Atharv being the confused, spendthrift, a little immature yet a loving husband to her.

The uniquely carved title begins to make sense as one dives deeper into the story and finds that it is actually a pun on the word "Honeymoon" broken into two halves, "Honey" and "Moon" for two reasons. Firstly, because it was on the day of their honeymoon itself when Srishti realised how hard it will be to support such a huge family of her in-laws, as an unfortunate mishap spoiled their honeymoon and brought a breach in their relationship. Secondly, as we swipe through the story, we find that Srishti is the Moon for her husband while Atharv is her Honey, and no matter how much into conflict they are, they are just as inseparable as the two words in "Honeymoon".

The cover stars Srishti who is looking into the nature through the glass wall of her cabin with the curtains half-drawn. The scene goes well with the story where she is often seen to stare at nature that brings smile to her face and tranquillises her soul, despite all the conflicts in her life.

With a strong, sweet and mesmerising story of the power of love, Kamini Kusum struck gold again with her third book "Honey and the Moon", promising to take the readers on a ride through the subtle alleys of life.

"She found the same man in him, the one whom she felt was made for her."

About the Author :

Kamini Kusum is post graduate in management and has worked several years in corporate. Besides writing, she loves nature, travelling, food, movies and yoga. She carves stories that are rooted in Indian culture and society. Born in Bihar, having spent several years there and travelled extensively in eastern and northern India, her writings do have deep imprints of the culture prevailing in these areas. She is also the author of books “A New Dawn” and “Secrets, Sins & Struggles”.

My review :

The language is well versed, simple and easy to understand. It made a little dragging at some points.

This is a story of easy Indian working woman who wants to be independent without the need of validation from anyone. The main protagonist of the story, Shrishti, who is a hard working and financially independent woman in this modern society. She's looking for a perfect match but things don't turn out as it seems, right?

I loved the characters and felt relatable with the story.

Cover of the book-

The cover of the book shows the image of a woman wearing a red dress . I didn't find any relevance between the cover and the story. The title was kinda catchy but not related to the story.

Honey and the moon

This book revolves around a modern protagonist srishti, who's quite modern & seems to be focused on every aspect of life. Especially in her career. Like every other modern girl, she wants to keep her marriage, personal, workspace & professional life balanced.
The book says its kinda balaclava realistic story. However, the things we read or presume to be true doesn't quite well end up the same in our everyday real lives.

The theme of the book surrounds with aspects like love, true love, unrequited love, separation, carnal desires, affair, illicit affair, extramarital affair, lust, loss, ambition, success, failures, happiness, sadness, pain, resentment, guilt, success, failures, marriage & mainly infidelity.

Story is simple. A typical bollywood story with a pretty much normal plot. Not much twists & turns are incorporated. Characterisation is normal. Language is simple, good & easy to understand. Title is apt & catchy. Narration is okay. Cover is okay. It could have been designed much better. Paper quality is really poor, making me strain my eyes & lose myself in dissapointment!

This is a story about a women who has failed relationships in the past but that never stopped her from getting success in her career.this is the story of a women and for all the other women who perhaps resonates with many women someway in some point of time.
she soon meets the man that fits her description as a man and soon they marry but marriage is not any bed of roses. This book aims to talk about the serious issues of marriage. It is not bed of roses and happily ever after requires a lot of struggle. WE ALL have weaknesses. As the saying goes every rose flower has its own thorns. Always remember that no one is an angel. Marriage is not a bed of roses ,never it has been. Every smilingly perfect marriage has gone through its own rough patches. True love is proved in time of challenges.
This book stared off with career orientation, flowing to love then balancing marriage to work with slowing losing the charm of marriage to near about cheating and eventually understanding between the partners.
its a very beautiful book with lots of potential the written is simple and easy.

How can love be bound by vested interests? And if it is, it can't be love❤️

This book is a spicy story which happens in every family. The story revolves around Srishti a hard working , smart bold and an ambitious career woman finds success in her career yet finding a right man was a big task. Later with parents approval srishti married Atharv, whom she was in love. Srishti was a private person and atharv was a mamma boy. Conflicts of career, highs and lows in relationship in terms of finance and love enters in her life. Does Atharv was a right choice ?
The story was excellent. I have read difficult girls and this is my second book by the author. Her books portrays strong female protagonist which I like the most. The characterization was good. The writing style is emphatic. The language is lucid and would be easy for the beginners. Overall a bold and a light read , I loved reading this book and highly recommended for young readers❤️.

First of all let's just say this book has a lovely and catchy cover. Language of the sort is quite simple and easy to understand. The struggles that Srishti goes through are quite relatable. Many can possibly connect to the stroy of Srishti as these issues are quite common these days. Pacing of the story was moderate for me. It is a truth of these days that balancing between work and love is not easy to strike. And on the top of that the looks , glares and whispers of the society are like cherry on the cake. It is always expected from a woman to leave everything and become family oriented and if someone tries to do both then there are alot of people to bring them down.
I would not say I lived the book but it was a good one time read for me. I would recommend this to everyone and get an insight of the struggles many girls go through.

Honey and the moon by kamini kusum is the story about today's women. The cover and title goes well with the story. The story is about Shrishti, an ambitious woman who wants to be independent. She wanted to balance her married and professional life. A successful woman is never excepted by the society. Even the husband who supports her in the beginning starts getting uncomfortable looking at her wife's success. That's the problem with male ego. The society is gonna challenge her on each and every step to break her. But when her partner does so it breaks her soul. Some thing happened with shrishti. To know how she cope up with situation do read the book.

This was one of the good book that I have read. The way author unfolded the story and narrated it was quite intriguing. Te story revolves around Srishti a corporate HR who waits long for marriage till she gets the right one and when she finds one she immediately marries yet her marriage life does not seem fruitful as she was unable to adjust with her in laws. She still tries to find solace in others' company though she is married, she finds it in two people. The author sheds light on the post marital drama which is very common in the Indian Context. All committed couples should go through this book to understand their future better.

Comfort read

This is a story of an ambitious and career oriented girl ,who came from a small family and a family oriented boy who came from a big family. They got married and how they learn to adjust with each other and how they fit in each others world is this story is all about.
Shristi loved her job and her privacy while for Atharva nothing is important then family. Shristi felt lonely and search for her happiness outside the marriage. How she realised her fault and how they reconcile is beautifully narrated.
A must read .

A light hearted read, direct to the point, no exaggerations, a powerful packed story, relatable to females on so many levels. Honey and the Moon is one of such stories, of a confident professional woman who doesn't hesitate to achieve what she aims for but has to go through the hardships that every woman in our society is inescapable from.

A love one you aim for, but lust and desire is what dominates. No relationship lasts forever. It's just the question of how long you can endure.

Although not a fan of the genre, the story had plenty of potential. The concept of women managing work and personal life - excelling in both is inspirational & a potential motivator for the current generation, however it felt like 'Honey & the moon' was let down by the narrative..
Verdict: An acceptable read for a Saturday afternoon.!

A very light and simple read

The book is a story of a 21st century woman who is ambitious, independent, confident, determined and is searching for the perfect man of her life and when she finds one, she doesn't give a second thought before marrying him. But what lays ahead in her after marriage journey, makes her doubt her decisions sometimes and she is lost somewhere. She goes with a lot of ups and downs but you will see a happy ending in the book. You will surely find the story relatable and very much a story of today's modern times corporate world people and their family issues. But the book has a great realisation in the end.
☆ The book was very simple with words.
☆ A complete plain and light reading.
☆ Can be finished in an hour or so and will refresh your mood
☆ Some of you might even link your life's story to the story in the book.
☆ Overall a nice, sweet and short read.
