Very simple concept. The first few chapters explain the concept and and how the book is arranged and how to use it to form programs for yourself for various goals. It might even over-explain, since it seemed to repeat itself a bit and I found myself skipping ahead rather than read another phrasing of what was already explained... mostly for the benefit of people who may not already think symbolically.

Most of the book is taken up by pages of activities and the self-suggestions that could go with them. Therefore, since you won't need them all, and certainly not all at once, it's just a reference and you'll get through the book quickly once you read a few examples and then skip to the last chapter for a wrap-up.

I think the self-suggestions could have been more powerful, specific, and meaningful, but I suppose that's why he encourages you to write your own. I'll be formally trying a program I'll write, myself, to get back in practice because this concept is something I did naturally for most of my life. I'm trying to get back there after a few years of reinforcing mainly negative self-suggestions after some trauma. Now I'm aware of what has been happening, and I have a tool for reversing the trend.

This book seems to be a hybrid of hypnosis and mindfulness. I was expecting lessons on how to hypnotise myself - but the book seems to be actually instructions on more mindful living.
