In the mood for some historical romance and time travel? This short story was a quick delightful tale you can read in one sitting! A girl is transported to a cursed kingdom. A ghost. A prophecy. An arranged marriage to a cold prince. Lots of court intrigue. I enjoyed watching the story unfold!

Fated to Meet You (2018) By Despoina Kemeridou is a wonderful short time travel read.

The story follows Nora who finds herself in the olden days after she time travels from 2020. Nora is an extremely likable character who is very easy to relate to. She is a young woman in her 20s, not overly pushed about having a relationship and who is just getting by each day with her work and her social life. But when she finds herself back in the past, she begins to go on an adventure she definitely wasn’t

I really wanted to like this book. The reviews were fairly good and the story sounded interesting. So first - I need to say that I don't enjoy fantasy in general and I particularly don't enjoy a lot of detail about the fantasy world.

Here are some of the things I didn't like:

1 - The premise was not believable. Who would deliberately make a life-changing decision in a moment of intense confusion, without any pressure? Later, love and many other things seemed to come instantaneously as well. Every

A feel good fun and imaginative modern fairy tale…

To begin with Fated to Meet You reads like a young adult story that appears to be brief and without much detail, that is until readers will realise it is in fact a modern fairy tale and for a fairy tale style story it’s a great read!

Main character and narrator ‘Nora’ depicts her early twenties life as one of struggle in both work and social; she isn’t interested in a relationship or is she just waiting for the ‘one’? And then she is transported

Delightful Fairytale Story with a surprise ending

This book was a quick but enjoyable read. It is a classic fairy tale with an unusual twist. The ending surprised me as I didn’t expect it but I was happy to read it.
If I had to choose something I didn’t like about the book it would be the fast pace at which the story progressed. A little more “world building” would have increased my enjoyment of the story. At times it felt rushed. Otherwise though, a delightful story.

This story had a very interesting premise that reminded me a little of A Connecticut Yankee in King Author's Court. The reason for the curse on the royal family was rather interesting.

I wish that the book was fleshed out more. The author jumps from main plot points to another quickly. I would have liked to have known more about the things that happened in-between. It would have been interesting to see how Nora coped with time travel, her relationships with her friends and the royal family, and

I enjoyed this book for what it was: a quick time-travel story with a unique premise and a happy ending :) This isn't a copy of Outlander, which I appreciate. Instead, a curse provides the impetus for the protagonist's time travel in the first place.

Fated to Meet You is a fun, quick little read. I am always fascinated by time travel stories, and I rather enjoy this one's family curse, a touch of the paranormal, and the events themselves in this book. And as a hopeless romantic, the little bit of romance is nice, too.

The storyline itself is interesting, but I feel this story would have been better served in a longer form. While I am intrigued by what goes in this world, there is not very much worldbuilding or internal connection. I would

A fast-paced story with great characters

I enjoy fantasy and historical fiction. Fated to Meet You gives me both. This puts together a tale of an arranged marriage to a cold prince. Lots of court intrigue, time travel, magic, and the paranormal. Go back in time to a place where the protagonist, Nora, can take the place of Eleanor, a princess who died. She ends up marrying King Jake to become a Queen. The story will take you to one emotional state then swing you to another, when realizing how it's

Has potential

There is a nice romance here, unfortunately it doesn’t realize its potential.
21 year old Nora is fed up of her boring life until one day she finds herself transported back in time. However, the time period and country are not named, so perhaps a fantasy land or alternate dimension is more probable.
Nora is a pleasant character, but there is hardly any description of her new environment or life, and she’s a little passive for my liking.
Finally she is betrothed, but there is

Short urban fantasy-fairy tale.
Super fast read, almost reminiscent of a bedtime story, Fated to meet You is a sweet tale of love and triumph over evil.

One needs to read this without being too critical of the writing style. Turn OFF your inner editor, and just enjoy the delightful story that unfolds.
