Fated to Meet You
Tired of her boring life, one day she is magically transferred to the past. There she chooses to replace a dead princess, determined to live in that time. But there was only one reason for her time-travel; she had to break a curse that haunted the royal family for many generations. Will she be able to save her loved one and survive fate's game?
The story follows Nora who finds herself in the olden days after she time travels from 2020. Nora is an extremely likable character who is very easy to relate to. She is a young woman in her 20s, not overly pushed about having a relationship and who is just getting by each day with her work and her social life. But when she finds herself back in the past, she begins to go on an adventure she definitely wasn’t ...more
Here are some of the things I didn't like:
1 - The premise was not believable. Who would deliberately make a life-changing decision in a moment of intense confusion, without any pressure? Later, love and many other things seemed to come instantaneously as well. Every ...more
To begin with Fated to Meet You reads like a young adult story that appears to be brief and without much detail, that is until readers will realise it is in fact a modern fairy tale and for a fairy tale style story it’s a great read!
Main character and narrator ‘Nora’ depicts her early twenties life as one of struggle in both work and social; she isn’t interested in a relationship or is she just waiting for the ‘one’? And then she is transported ...more
This book was a quick but enjoyable read. It is a classic fairy tale with an unusual twist. The ending surprised me as I didn’t expect it but I was happy to read it.
If I had to choose something I didn’t like about the book it would be the fast pace at which the story progressed. A little more “world building” would have increased my enjoyment of the story. At times it felt rushed. Otherwise though, a delightful story.
I wish that the book was fleshed out more. The author jumps from main plot points to another quickly. I would have liked to have known more about the things that happened in-between. It would have been interesting to see how Nora coped with time travel, her relationships with her friends and the royal family, and ...more
The storyline itself is interesting, but I feel this story would have been better served in a longer form. While I am intrigued by what goes in this world, there is not very much worldbuilding or internal connection. I would ...more
I enjoy fantasy and historical fiction. Fated to Meet You gives me both. This puts together a tale of an arranged marriage to a cold prince. Lots of court intrigue, time travel, magic, and the paranormal. Go back in time to a place where the protagonist, Nora, can take the place of Eleanor, a princess who died. She ends up marrying King Jake to become a Queen. The story will take you to one emotional state then swing you to another, when realizing how it's ...more
There is a nice romance here, unfortunately it doesn’t realize its potential.
21 year old Nora is fed up of her boring life until one day she finds herself transported back in time. However, the time period and country are not named, so perhaps a fantasy land or alternate dimension is more probable.
Nora is a pleasant character, but there is hardly any description of her new environment or life, and she’s a little passive for my liking.
Finally she is betrothed, but there is ...more
Super fast read, almost reminiscent of a bedtime story, Fated to meet You is a sweet tale of love and triumph over evil.
One needs to read this without being too critical of the writing style. Turn OFF your inner editor, and just enjoy the delightful story that unfolds.
