Knowledge Quiz: Physics

Rate this book
The Knowledge Quiz series is a deviously simple and effective way for students to revise for GCSE subjects. Put together by teaching experts, these easy-to-use books feature tear-out quizzes to help students memorise the large body of knowledge that form the basis of success in exams. Rather than just flicking through revision cards expecting things to stick in your memory, self-quizzing allows students to complete multiple copies of the same quiz and keep doing them until you get them right every time. This edition will help students to effectively drill the essential facts necessary for success in the GCSE Physics exam.

Ruth Ashbee, who tweets as @Rosalindphys, has produced a wonderful resource: a self-quizzing book for GCSE Physics. The book, like others in the series, has a number of topic-based quizzes that cover a lot of - but obviously not all - the information for GCSE Physics.

Each of the books follow the same format: a set of usually 12 questions and an answer key, a tracker and a list of the questions with blanks for students to complete the answers. These they can then self-check using the answer key. A simple but effective format.

Suggestions for the next edition:
Add another section for the space physics
Separate out the higher tier questions on separate pages
Have in addition quizzes that cover several topics.
Produce a photocopiable version.

If you are studying GCSE Physics do yourself a favour and get a copy; if you are teaching GCSE Physics follow the author on twitter as well - and check out the #cogscisci hashtag.
