My first book by this author - the plot sounded great but somehow it was more a comedy than a romance (at least I felt like it even if it did not fit the plot somehow) so it was not what I was looking for and somehow with that plot the writing style did not work out that great for me so it's unfortunately only an OK read for me.

Royal Disgrace was not what I expected it to be. If possible, Lynx gave the story more personality than the characters. Grace is my favorite heroine. She refuses to swept off her feet. She lives in the real world and has the baggage to prove it. Nick has a dreamer's soul, but is hindered by duty. A reversal of roles gives a fresh twist to the royal fantasy. Lynx rewrites the narrative of what a fairytale should be and makes it more attuned to the real world with the ever present culmination of ...more

I loved this modern fairytale story. So much!

It started with a prince entering a diner, pretending to be a pauper. Well a lie by omission…

Nicolas Aster Rowley Chillingham, heir of the throne of Cambria was a bit lost and not really thrilled to take his father’s place.a lot of responsibilities for this young man who had to follow the rules of royalty and somehow looking for

What an amazing series!

I love this world since The Spy Ring (it's actually the 4th book in the series, but the first one I read it). The characters are funny, silly and light written. They make mistakes, they are vulnerable and adorably weird.

Specially Grace. Since the moment I met her, I wanted her to have a book, her own story. I felt like she deserved to tell us about her life and have her own HEA.
She was wonderfully awkward and deeply genuine. Her past wasn't an easy one, and even as an

I like this book! It’s a take on the Prince and me film with Julia styles... working woman with a heart of gold, and a prince from a far away country taking on a menial job and falling in love long the way... what could be better?! Many funny laughs, as Nico is really bad at his job, and it’s a very fast read, but would definitely recommend this book :)

I don’t know about you, but I love a royal romance, and this one fit the bill perfectly! A comedy of errors, with the importance of loving yourself and others and acceptance displayed in a wonderful way. It was awesome to see some others from the Cake Love series, and seeing more of the bond between Grace and Alex, newly found siblings, well, it just made my heart smile! But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Grace has had a bad day. Her boyfriend breaks up with her by sailing a paper airplane at her face as soon as she gets to work. Then she gets fired, from the job she’s had for years, all in just a few minutes of her entering her office space. Her friend helps her decide what she wants to do with her life. That decision leads to Grace opening Totally Diner, an 80’s themed diner where the staff dresses in costumes from Grace’s favorite movies.
Enter Nick. He and his sister are visiting Chicago on a

What a delightful read. I fell in love with the characters and the storyline was great. It had me laughing, smiling, hoping for a happy ever after but mostly I just felt happy as I read as I tagged along on Grace and Nico’s journey.

Grace is a hot mess. She gets dumped via paper airplane and fired from her job, all in the same day. Luckily for her, she has recently come into a large amount of money so she can basically do whatever she wants. With her love of movies from the 80’s and eating at

I was a bit skeptical that I would understand this book as it is book 5 in a series, and I will admit there was some parts that I didn't really understand, but powered through for this fast track full of heart romance.

Have you ever been so sure of you path in life? Me neither and I have made career changes because I wanted and because I had too, I thought I had met the love of my life three different times but was only right once. This

Grace is having a crappy day, as her boyfriend breaks up with her by throwing a paper airplane at her with breakup words, and then she's losing her job. Luckily though, she has a brother, who she recently found, who set her up with an inheritance, so she can do anything she wants to do now. So, she decides to open her own 1980 themed diner, even as far as making the uniforms some of the best 80's movies, which ticked me to no end to be honest, especially The Princess Bride. It's there that she ...more

Interesting read! I feel like Grace is the typical millennial, where all of a sudden you’re a grown up but still have no idea what to do with your life. While she’s sat on the sidelines and seen everyone else get their HEA, Grace has yet to have one, but when she’s laid off, she decides to do something for herself and start her own business with the help of her brother. It’s there that she meets Nico, who is actually a prince wanting to experience the real world while away from his family. While ...more

I enjoyed this newest book in the Cake Love Series. Grace is dumped and finds out her receptionist job is being cut. She decides to open a diner with 1980’s movies as its theme. Nico is Duke of Iornlea and future Prince of Northern Cambria. He is tired of being a Royal and decides to live like a commoner after he meets Grace in her diner and is successful in getting a job working for free. He is terrible at being a janitor and ends up breaking lots of dishes but Grace and he start falling for ...more

In book five, this is the story of Grace and Nico. Grace is sister to Alex, who are both billionaires. Just fired from her job, she opens a themed restaurant. She cannot seem to keep good help, and they needed a waiter. Nico is to be the Prince of Cambria after his father abdicates. He is very mad and does not want the crown. In America, they ate at Grace’s diner and he decided to take the job without telling them who he really is. Now, Grace is VERY attracted to him and vice versa. He is ...more

The cake love series is what made md fall in love with this author and now I read everything she writes. Grace is the sister of alex from book three in this series but you can absolutely read this without reading the others but do yourself the favor and read them. Today isnt Grace day first she gets dumped by paper airplane then finds out her jobs redundant but she can finally do something she loves and well that seems to be opening an 80s dinner. Can I just start from saying that I love the fact that Elizabeth Lynx's takes us back to her beloved Cake Love series. If you havent had a chance to read any of the series yet then you must because you are missing out on 4 other fabulous stories. The best part is how different yet the same they are. You'll gett what I'm saying once you read them. That's my favorite part right there with how different yet the same the ladies of SWIM Meet are. This is their newest member Grace's story. She seems ...more

Grace loses her boyfriend and job within minutes of each other. After this happens she decides that she has to make good things happen herself. She gets her brother and they open a diner with an older thyme. Nico shows up pretending to need a job when in actually he’s a future prince after his father steps down. But he doesn’t want to do it and came to America to just blend in. Grace hires him as a waiter but he’s terrible but doesn’t fire him. As time goes on they get closer and fall in love.

Very hot princely romance
Good romance very hot, but that remains simple in the scenario. The characters are nice, but I did not really like Nico's character.
Grace decides to see the future positively and since she is fired, to build her dream: she has money and she can open and run a diner with a decor of the 80s (even the waiters). In search of waiters she meets Nico. They’re immédiately attracted to each other, but he's awkward and do not know much in service, nor in the 80s, and that for a

This is the tale of Grace and Nico. Nico is part of the Cambria Royal family and is touring America with his sister. He doesn’t want to become the Prince of his country so he decides to get a job at Grace’s diner and hide. Grace and Nico have great chemistry together. The story is full of humor and awesome 80’s references. I enjoyed reading every page and I couldn’t put it down. Will Grace stay with Nico when she finds out he’s really a Prince?

Sissy's Romance Book Review
Royal Disgrace by Elizabeth Lynx is book 5 in the Cake Love Series. This is the story of s Nicolas Aster Rowley Chillingham, the Duke of Ironlea and Grace. I haven't yet read the previous books so for me this was a standalone book. Nicolas is to be the Crown Prince of Northern Cambria but while in America has decided to skip his duties to work at a Dinner that Grace is trying to make successful. Grace is trying to start a new life after breaking up with her boyfriend and then loosing her job. ...more

This was a very cute story. It was a modern day version of your favourite fairy tale.
Grace and Nico came from two different worlds and they had their own meaning of what love meant to them.
Grace is selfless, fiesty and committed to her work and helping others. Nico is a royal who thinks he is not fit to be the prince and runs away only to fall in love with the spunky fiesty woman who makes him see the value in love and family.

I've enjoyed the Cake Love books and this is a great addition to the series. Nico and Grace's story is well written, these two characters are interesting, and just enough steam to keep things fun. Their story has a few expected twists, but a HEA. We get appearances by the couples from the previous books, which is always nice. Well done!

“A new addition to the Cake Love series and I must said it’s a masterpiece! Royal Disgrace was everything I absolutely love. If somethings involve royalty you can be sure I’ll definitely add it to my read list. What can I say? I’m helpless when it comes to royalty. The levels of hotness were high and the romance was simply perfect. The plot was great and had me laughing and falling in love with the characters.”

A modern day fairy tale. Rico is the future Prince of Cambria but when his father says he is abdicating, Rico is not ready to be the next Prince. On a royal tour in Chicago he meets Grace who owns an 80s themed diner. They are instantly smitten. He applies for a job as a janitor so he can be near her and hide out from his responsibilities. He does not tell her he is royalty and they fall in love. When she finds out she breaks up with him. He goes home and prepares to assume his duties. His ...more

Funny, steamy royal romance gone wrong. Nico is soon to be prince of his country. He doesn’t want the responsibility. He feels his parents have given their lives more to the country than he and his sister. While traveling the US he meets the owner of a diner, Grace. She had a hard upbringing so when he volunteers to work she lets him. Sadly he didn’t tell her the truth of why he was there. The author did a great job developing the characters and story line. Am interesting take on a royal who doesn’t want to step into his rule as the monarch. Nico “escapes” from his duties to work in an American diner. He is the worst employee that Grace has but she can’t seem to let him go. Especially since he’s made it seem like he’s in danger of going back to his country. And against their better judgement, they become close. I enjoyed the Grace’s sarcasm and Nico’s attempt at being a “normal” human being. They seem like an unlikely couple who know better than to ...more

Grace is a girl having a bad time. Fired, dumped and clueless about what she wants to do with her life.
When she opens up her 80’s diner, she meets Nico, a man on the run(kind of) and in need of a job.
The attraction is there from the beginning.
The build over the course of this story is beautiful, and the role reversal is perfection.

Royal Disgrace

Royal Disgrace (Cake Love Book 5) can be read as a standalone, which is what I did since this is the first in the series that I have read. I'm sure I would know some of the supporting characters more if I had read the others, but I had no problems following this book. This is a fairy tale come true, even though Grace does not realize it for a while. Nico is royalty, but really just wants to live his own life. He and Grace meet and there is an instant attraction between them. Nico

This was such a cute story! I loved the banter between Nico and Grace when they first meet. She doesn't make it easy on him. Grace has had a rough life and things have been good until now. She gets dumped the stupidest way possible and gets let go of her job. This is when she realizes what her dream is and acts on it. I loved that it was 80s themed with costumes as well. I'd love to visit her diner! Nico has a reputation in Cambria and his parents want to change that. He is a Prince after all ...more
