My hobbies include watching soccer, reading, camping, and of course writing. I coached youth soccer for twelve years before moving on and becoming a high school soccer coach for thirteen more. I also enjoy playing with my five grandchildren. I have a very vivid imagination, which sometimes worries my friends. They never know what I am going to say or what I am going to do.
I am an avid reader and have a science fiction / fantasy collection of over two thousand paperbacks. The space program has always fascinated me and I've followed it since its inception. When I was a teenager, I wanted to be an astronaut. Now, I just write about it.

This was a decent space opera, but there were parts of the story that were a bit repetitive and others that wouldn’t work without poor tactics and stupid decisions, although I suppose this was a way for the author to add some tension and threat to the proceedings.

We’re back again with the “special” five Lieutenants which is something that Mr. Weil seems to create in a lot of his books. These young people are apparently geniuses helping a Professor Wilkens solve whatever problems he assigns them at Complex One, a secure safe haven underground. Now, they are “volunteered” to accompany Captain Dolan and the Fury on a dangerous mission deep into Trellixian space. They are to scout several Trellixian systems to see what they contain and try to determine if the Trellixian’s have any kind of weakness. They will be accompanied by three other Earth ships, but are not to engage the Trellixians if it can be avoided.
Why the “special” five Lieutenants are needed aboard this ship is never clearly explained, although they do come up with a significant new capability that does allow the Fury to accomplish its mission. One of the annoying habits of Mr. Weil’s writing is that he does repeat himself on numerous occasions, especially with this group of Lieutenants. It seems that one is always wishing she was back with Professor Wilkins doing research and we read this lament repeatedly over and over! Additionally, two of the Lieutenants are some what romantically involved yet, they supposedly have set aside their feelings for the duration of the mission. That is also mentioned more than once, a lot more! It’s like you’ve read a paragraph on one page and then you’re reading the same paragraph on the next. I guess that fills up space in the book, but it sure gets annoying!
Ok, back to the story. Earth has already been attacked once by the Trellixians and almost destroyed. If it wasn’t for the Fury finding the Voltrex, the Earth would have been occupied and conquered by the Trellixians. But, a Voltrex fleet arrived just in time to save Earth and drive off the Trellixians. Still, most of Earths population were driven underground and only with the invention of strong force field shields did any above ground installations survive. Additionally, Earth is just now eradicating the last of the Trellixian ground troops.
Fortunately, back fifty or so years ago, Earth found a crashed Jelnoid spacecraft with one of the alien crew still alive. That, of course, became a national top secret while the American scientist learned everything they could from the Jelnoid and its spacecraft. Most of the stuff they learned was well beyond human capabilities in manufacturing and it wasn’t until just recently that some of the known capabilities could be actually created by humans. The force field shield was one tech as well as some powerful new fusion generators. This Jelnoid technology found its way into military production which was passed on to the Voltrex so they could build more powerful starships capable of challenging the Trellixians.
The Trellixians have decided that Earth needs to be completely destroyed so as not to become a base of operations for the Voltrex. A humongous Trellixian fleet is assembled and starts off towards Earth. There definitely isn’t enough Earth or Voltrex combat starships to defend Earth, so it doesn’t look good for humanity.
This seems to be the end of this series. I’m not all that sorry to see it goes. While I do believe these books were written for a young adult audience, they were pretty good, but I’ve read better stories without the need for so much repetition. Mr. Weil is an excellent writer and i still look forward to reading more of his books.

Highly disappointed in this book, this series, and Raymond Weil. I absolutely loved the Slaver Wars and all its subsequent spin off series. They all had super in depth plots, 3D characters -with ambitions, goals, visceral emotions -, and we’re extremely entertaining. The hope of experiencing that again is what motivated me to read this series...... that was a mistake.
The series has the bare bones architecture of what COULD be a fantastic series: good plot, good group of core characters, etc... There’s one major problem though: every single character is 2D the plot is boring, interactions between characters are all mater-of-fact, the psychological/emotional/moral/logical perspectives and consequences of any plot event are unrealistic, the science used is straight up fake and non-specific. Need I go on....?
I really wish this had been a good series, and even though book 1 was awful, I decided to give the other 2 a chance in recognition of the author I know Mr. Weil can be. Instead of rewarding his audiences trust with a series we all know hike capable of, he gave us this flaming piece of garbage that detracts from my opinion of him as an author.
I highly recommend you avoid this series at ALL costs.

Great Military Sci-fi Trilogy
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy, fact is , I binged read it in less than a week. A part from a few errors in grammar, I was hooked from the first chapter of book one. The way the alien civilizations were depicted sounded very plausible to me. The willingness to totally eradicate other civilizations so that yours will survive isn't such a far fetch idea. The moral questions posed to the humans and their alien allies have happened on this earth in our history. Perhaps a book four is in order; what would the galaxy look like 100 years plus????

Great ending to another great series
Well written with great characters. Story line throughout the three book was what I have come to expect from Raymond. That having been said still a lot of similarities with previous series ( think special 5 and you will know what I mean). Looking forward to the new books early next year. Thanks again Raymond your page turners keep me up well past my bed time

Terrorizing Earth.
This is an action packed and emotional story that grips your heart and keeps you on the edge of your seat. However I have one caveat. It gave me the impression that the writer did not give any thought to people of color. As a black man who is also an army Veteran, that was a concern of mine.Otherwise it was great. i’d hate to think that the Author did not think we would make it into the future?

Weil is winning again !!!!
This book was great ! The genre is filled with bad guys come, bad guys win initially, good guys fight back and win, books. Weil tells the usual story with unusual aplomb ! His characters aren’t simply superficial placeholders, they have depth and presence. A well written space shoot em up is a true treat ! GREAT READ !!!!!!!

Space Battlefields At The Best
This book continues the action of humans and their feline allies against the lizard empire. There is great courage combined with scientific research that yields a massive battle for earths survival. A special 5 work to save a desperate mission. All this makes for a most entertaining read

Fun Series
Another fine series. Lots of creative licence. I was really reading this while waiting for more of the originators stories but I really caught up in the Earth Fall series and always looking forward to the next installment. A few editing errors and a couple of holes in continuity but not very distracting.
Here's hoping the series starts up again.

Excellent Series
I highly recommend the Earth Fall series to anyone who enjoys a good science fiction yarn involving a thrilling interstellar war, an invasion of Earth and great characters. A wonderful series.

A very compelling end to a great Saga
Amazing book, Raymond couldn't have ended this trilogy any better. I love the cat people!!! Characters are compelling and the Wright of the mission is felt through them. Great book!!!

A Fitting End
Book 3 was a great ending to the Earth Fall saga. It paints a hopeful future for a devistated human race. Three books was just the perfect number to provide the sense of disaster and resurrection. Great series!

Dull and Repetitive
Such a disappointment. Kept repeating the same very obvious conclusions about enemy. Very predictable plot, dull characters. No real tension.

Great action descriptions!

Magic lost
I loved book 1 and 2 in the series but the magic Raymond was using to write those it has run out as book 3 is an bleak uninteresting entry in the series.

Another Hit
Ships blowing up, planets destroyed and 5 special people on an adventure. Raymond does it again. I find myself hoping for more from this series.

A great series!
The characters are compelling. You become interested in more than the view of the universe. The AI was a bit of a twist, kept waiting for it to turn rogue.

Very good military syfy. Wiel always does a good job of character delevopment and plot, even if his form of military unit disipline is a little lite. Hope he does more of the series, and soon!

It's was a great series, but it did seem to end rather abruptly, I hope he writes more in this world of emerging earth space exploration.

This should be a trilogy.
While I enjoy Weil, the third book felt like a redundant escalation , over and over again. It wore me out.

Ending was a bit rushed, feels like we could of had another book in the series but the author due to his medical issues was just done with the story and wanted to get it off his plate.
