I am sorry to say I didn't like this book because someone wrote it and took effort, time and dedication, but I just can make sense of it. IMO tbe world needs more construction, and I felt like the beginning wasn't the beginning but the middle of the book, as things were going on, rushing by, making no sense to me. I would have liked some introduction to the characters and worlds, and a bit more of a world and plot construction. ...more

I just couldn't really get into this. I always hate it when I read something that I don't like because I know how disappointing it must be for the author, to put so much work into something.

The writing was good, I just couldn't get into the story. Maybe I'm just a bit dim, but most of the time I was quite lost. There isn't much character development in this (which you can excuse I guess, given that they are novellas) and I found that the relationships were a bit unrealistic and cheesy.

Unique, captivating and I couldn't put it down. Woe is a fallen angel. The murder of an innocent determines her choice and she gives up her wings. This is her story. She meets a pretend priest, a fae prince and a few other unusual characters. In the process of finding the 'bad guys' she starts to learn about being human and about herself. I enjoyed this book a lot. The world is well developed with so much potential for future books. All of which I will be reading. This is a clean read. ...more

1.5 -- Slightly spoilerish, but doesn't give anything away you won't guess immediately on reading the book.

What the hell did I just read? Part one was all dark and gothic and over-wrought, but in part two the same character turned into a bubbly, happy, pretty-pretty princess who wears bright dresses and worries about her makeup. Seriously, what the hell, is consistency not a thing anymore?

Part two starts with her being in love and married to a 'man' that she didn't even wholly trust at the end o

Free your mind, and you can soar! Arun, Faerie Prince witnessed Woe's wing disintegration. He didn't know her past. The prophecy stated that once she hit ground, they were bound. She would never get her wings back, he was permanently bound to her. He was also determined to find the cure for his twin sister, Ishka. He did not want to lead the Fae realm. So, he planned to ignore Woe. As a first series' book, this led the foundation for what is to come. We, the reader get an insight into how powerf ...more

Great story! Loved so much that I could not put it down. The characters and the writing are fantastic. A world that is so fascinating. Woe becomes a falling angel because she tried to save an innocent but, was to late. She is sent down to the streets of New Haven City. She will meet the Fae prince Arún and down-to-earth Jason. She has to choose to be with one of them. Become a Fae queen or a Keeper. Got to read to find out.

I was pleasantly surprised at how the author handled the main character, an ancient heavenly being, newly fallen. No spoilers here, but it intrigued me and continued all through the story. I'm very happy to have experienced such a nice read. Kudos to the author!

I ended up liking this book more than I thought I would. I was confused at first but stuck with it and was glad I did!
The story was very sweet, though the Villain didn’t make much of an appearance yet. Reading the preview of Book Two, it looks as if it’s going to be a slow burn spread over the series and we’ll learn more about the denizens of New Haven City as it goes.

Fantasy

A different type of story than the usual, interesting. Characters were just starting to become developed when story ended to entice reader to read the next installment. That usually doesn't work for me but maybe.

Great prospective on Woe

Woe goes through a lot of changes. Some changes are bad and some are good.
Learning to be human can be confusing and frustrating, but she finds a good teacher.

This book just really was not for me. Not sure it would be fair to give it anything but a three star for just because I didn’t like it, doesn’t mean it’s a bad story.

MINI THOUGHTS

I love fae and fairies and all that jazz. Back in seventh grade, I attempted to write a novel about fae and only got to like the sixth chapter with no fae in sight. AHH! So, I expected a ton from this book and it was not delivered.

MINI PROS

Beautiful Male Characters: #swoon
Interesting concept: How she just fell to earth and didn’t know what had happened. That was an interesting idea
The fact that there are fae: Fae are so interesting. I love them so much because you can have the bad

ONE INTENSE READ!!!
OMG! Man, talk about one wild rollercoaster ride. A whirlwind of emotions and events that feed from the excitement and nerve racking tension that brings this bad boy roaring to life brilliantly. All twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches and bumps here and there pull you deeper into this raging storyline and hard hitting plot. Throw in all the drama, intrigue, uncertainty, fear, danger and suspense and you have one intense, page turning bombshell that grabs

Great content but in need of an editor and proofreader

A unique book and very imaginative. Loved the story about a fallen angel named Woe and her desire to seek revenge on the evil man whom she caught molesting a young girl and killing her. Woe loved the young girl and was completely devastated by her death. Her desire to seek revenge caused her downfall burning her wings off. She was turned into a mortal with no knowledge about how to make her way in the mortal realm. A fae prince rescued her an

Holy shiznet!!! I was on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this story. My heart hurt so many times for Woe. I laughed with an at her as well. The rest of the characters that were important to this story, like Jason, a human who was screwed in so many ways; Arun, the Fa

When angels do only what they are told they remain angels. But when they make a choice, they fall. Ailin rages when an act of violence is made against a special child named Hannah. She makes her choice and falls and her name changes to Woe. She immediately becomes embroiled in first violence and then makes the acquaintance of two males, a human with paranormal powers and a fae, over which she will make a choice. ONE AWESOME READ!!!
Bokerah doesn't seem to break a sweat bringing this page turning bombshell into an astounding read with a strong plot that keeps your focus on the storyline. All the action, fast paced, suspense filled, excitement and adventure to keep you on a razors edge. The characters are intriguing, complex and realistic. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Twists and turns abound with

When I started reading this book, I was looking for something light and easy to read. It was a good read and a book that made me smile and cry. I haven't read a book that I truly wanted to read every time I had a chance to in a while. I'm glad I picked this up wherever I picked it up, on one of the websites where I get discounted or free books. I'm horrible at remembering where I get things, but I loved this book.

Woe is someone who makes her own choices and fights some of her choices. But this

I really loved the story and the characters. Woe is a fallen angel who has no idea what life has in store for her. She is learning what it means to be a mortal. From finding a job to finding love, the story gives you an intimate look at her journey. She also faces incredible danger and risks losing everything.

Woe is really connected to the other characters. Jason is someone she knew in her other life and wants more from than he is able to give. Arun struggles with the prophesy and his desire to

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is two novellas in one, just so you know. This book is about a being that has lived for a few millennia that made a choice that caused her to lose her wings when she stepped in to stop a monster from harming other little girls after he had killed the last one she had loved. This book is about Woe finding purpose with her life, new love, and having the freedom to make her own choices. Pretty short read but well writte ...more

I couldn't finish this book. When I first started it I was excited by the concept and the first few chapters were captivating. However, as the book progressed I found that I couldn't really connect with any of the main characters and the plot felt a little all over then place. By the time I reached the 50% mark I was just over it. I wanted more depth from the characters but it was pretty much just the same things over and over again. I wanted a more distinct plot line but it seemed so convoluted ...more
