Lady Norah Macalister is perfection: beauty, charm, grace, elegance-- all a carefully constructed lie. No one would ever suspect her of anything scandalous, and no one is the wiser when a terrible secret threatens to destroy her.

Major Trevor Hayward has unraveled after a decade at war with Napoleon—or so everyone believes. When his cousin is murdered Trevor finds himself t

Apparently I’ve decided to read this series backwards, as I first read book five and have now finished book four. This book was action-packed as well, with very sexy love scenes that didn’t take over the plot. Just like book 5, this one contains a strong, smart, and capable heroine who is more than she seems. I swear that entire family could work in covert ops! I very much enjoyed this book, and I think I’ll skip back to the first one now and read forward.

Excellent regency romance!

I love this author and all her books. Great detail and the way the hero falls in love is a natural progression. I wish she had more books written.

An Enchanting, Compelling Story

In the last couple of weeks, I have read this entire series as it is today (up to book 5). I started with book 5 first as that was offered at one of the book review sites I frequent. I seriously enjoyed that book and its very different take on Regency England and Regency romance. So I was hoping for much of the same in the other four books when I started reading them. Unfortunately, my impression of the first four is wholly mixed. Book one was okay, though much mor

I always like it when an author can take what we assume to be modern-day diagnoses and incorporate them into a historical novel which allows us to then realize that the ailment, in this case, PTSD and how society perceives it, was not just a twentieth-century discovery but has been around for a very long time indeed. Probably as long as wars have been waged. Trevor has basically been through hell and has returned home but his experiences have left his psyche damaged and he does not know how he i ...more

Thrilling, engaging, and a pure joy to read.
Major Trevor Hayward's return from war did not go well. Now we would know he was suffering from PTSD but back in this time period people just thought he was mad. When his sister's husband was killed Trevor was called to London and was investigated as a suspect in the man's death. The other main character is Lady Norah Macalister is not what she seems. Thought to be a superficial person she hides a deep sorrow and the desire for vengeance. Throw togethe

Wow... Where do I start? I love Norah, who had a really bad experience, yet decides to take charge & ruin the man who violated her. Considering it's the early 1800s, this was a very interesting plan & she shows a lot of grit & temerity for a woman of those times. She's a modern, take charge woman who decides not to let anyone stand in her way. I was very happy with her plans, up until the dance with Swanley, where I wanted to reach into the book & hit him myself. As for Trevor, I just thought he ...more

Madness is akin to love

Trevor is thought to be mad and have fits of madness! Lady Norah is thought to be vain, silly and obsessed with clothes and the Ton! Lady Norah is intelligent scheming and manipulative all to right a gross wrong done to her years ago! Trevor has seen enough war and death as to make anyone unhinged but he's not mad or a murderer! Norah and Trevor join forces to show that Trevor is not mad and she is more than the evil done to her! As they grow close to exposing the enemy T

These stories just keep getting better and better! This is the fourth book in the series revolving around Norah and her brother’s boyhood friend, Trevor, who has returned from the war emotionally battered. Norah has masterminded a plan for vengance and enlisted Trevor’s help. This is a well conceived story that will grab you from the beginning and leave you wanting more. It’s a good thing there are more siblings so that this series can continue.

Loved the details in the book. Erica Taylor is a exceptional writer who captures the details, spirit, and lives of her characters to make them so realistic. Such a wonderful story. Trevor has returned from 10 years of military service and most recently war with Napoleon. Everyone thinks Trevor is mad and wants to lock him away. Norah is a youngest daughter who hides a deep dark secret from her family. They help each other heal emotional wounds.

An Enchanting Madness is the fourth book in The Macalisters series.

I loved this story about Norah and Trevor, two people who have heartbreaking pasts. They come together to prove that Trevor is not a killer and to get Norah her revenge. There are secrets, danger, societal views, and passion in this well-written story.

The author has taken the age-old sensitive subjects of sexual assault and PTSD and treated them with empathy and compassion.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

An Enchanting Madness is book 4 in The Macalisters Series. This is the story of Trevor Hayward and Norah Macalister. This can be a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Norah has decided to fix the person that she feels has wronged her. Trevor has been at war and now home but when his cousin is killed he is the main suspect so he is forced to stay at his friends house. This puts near Norah who is no longer the young girl. They end up working together when they realize that they have a mutual ene

The Macalisters are back!

Book 4 focuses on Norah, the socialite of the family. Little do they know she's hiding dark secrets.

Trevor has just returned from war, suffering from PTSD. The Ton believes him mad and so Norah's brother takes him in to help him recover and escape from accusations of murder.

I loved that Norah had such depth and that we saw one of the darker sides of regency society. I can't wait for book 5, Luke's story.

This is the 4th book I've read written by Erica Taylor; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

A very good story..

This was a very interesting story. The development of the relationship was beautiful. there wasn’t too much angst between the H & h. You really felt the love between Nora and Trevor. I do like more steam in the books I read. If this was steamier I would have given it five stars.
