For as long as she can remember, Ancelin has felt as if she were living a life not her own - confined to an ill-fitting, somewhat empty existence. One she'd come to terms with. Now though, something is wrong. She can't see it, she can't touch it, but something sinister is there, lurking in the shadows, determined to consume her... if she lets it. Ancelin loves the paranormal, the fairy tales, the dark fantasies she's read about in books and watched on a screen - all the things her sister wishes Ancelin would stop insisting were more than stories. But what if they really are? What if this is the story, and something - someone - is waiting on the chance to drag her back to real life?
Coveted is a paranormal romance novella, ending in a cliffhanger that leads into the next book of the series, which will follow a different couple..
I can't believe this book ended on this cliff hanger that it did. I'm trying to figure out when the next book is going to come out because I need answer just like everyone else!
Coveted focuses specifically on Ancelin, Khalida's sister, who seems to have an evil being/presence following her. As a result, Nasir is assigned to protect her. Let me tell ya'll something, the steamy scenes in this book were SMOKING HOT. And to be more specific, the steamy scene involving the "appearance" of multiple people had me questioning things about my life. For some reason, this book worked better for me than the first book. I still don't feel like I got the amount of world building that I wanted, but the mystery/suspense aspect of it was really engaging. There was more action and I felt more invested in Ancelin and Nasir as characters. The characters had a different layer of complexity especially in regard to their grandmother Mauve who appears to have done some pretty shady things. It would be pretty interesting if Jones took the opportunity to explore Mauve's background a little more. Be warned, this book ends on a major cliffhanger that I didn't necessarily see coming. The book reads as though there is a resolution, but then Jones flips the story on it's head. I'm really hoping that we are getting a third book because now I am much more invested in the story. As always, Jones' writing style is to die for. The writing in this story definitely kicked it up in terms of sensuality because we're encountering more sensual characters. It was a quick hot read and I would definitely recommend it to those who are looking for Black love paranormal romance.
That damn Maeve strikes again. This heffa is snatchin' memories and causing havoc in everybody's relationship. After searching high and low, Nasir finally finds Ancelin after Maeve has hidden her from him for the sixth time. As Aram's personal driver and security, he's tasked with protecting Ancelin from an unknown evil dark presence. While guarding her, Nasir has to wait patiently until she can remember who she is and what they were to each other on her own. I was really invested in Ancelin and Nasir's story because, I felt like we got to dive deeper into their backstory making them a lot more interesting. Maeve with her petty and shady self just can't let folks alone. Now, she's out here compelling Zaire to do her dirty work just so she can get revenge. I am sick of her! I hope CCJ gives us some background on her Maeve so, we can understand why she's so evil and vindictive. But, can we talk about that scene with the masseuse?!!! Clutches pearls cause, honey, I can't EVER unsee that nor do I want to. CCJ got good and filthy with that one! And, that ending though?!!! That cliffhanger had me stressed all the way out! What the hell did Maeve do to Erin?!!! Will she finally remember Zaire?!!!!! Will they be able to have another baby?!!! Will we find out who Aram's real parents are? Will we find out why Khalida and Aram can't have kids?!!! Chiiiiiile, I got questions that need answers. Let me slide right on into Restored so I can find them.
I enjoyed Ancelin and Nasir’s story! That massage!!!! Now THAT was a happy ending!! When she woke up after being out for 2 days!!! If a nxgga not waking me up like that then leave my as$ sleep 🤣🤣🤣These two were a 3 piece spicy and I enjoyed their reconnection! That dxmn Maeve is something else. I’m glad I don’t have to wait for book 3 because that cliffhanger 😳🫢 CCJ does it again!
Umm..as if the spice wasn’t burning my mouth on book 1, CCJ went and one upped it. Loved this book even more than the previous. This series is hook worthy. Onto book 3!
"Coveted" by Christina C. Jones is book two in the “Eternally Tethered” series. While book one focuses on Khalida , book two is all about Ancelin, her sister. I flew through this steamy paranormal in no time. The pacing was spot on. The characters were well developed and in depth. The worldbuilding was amazing . The Onyx is definitely a hotel that I would not mind visiting ( complete with the spa service, lol). The cliffhanger at the end had me stressed! I need a part three asap. Overall, Coveted was action packed, , full of suspense, and the perfect read for spooky season. I definitely enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next installment.
ummm hellooo cliffhanger what the hellyyy?/ Luckily I already have the next book lined up.
Ancelin and Nasir were hot hot hot. The lore of their past lives is so intriguing. I was wondering how Nasir fit into it all and my hazel eyes from earlier in the book but now it's all come together.
CCJ plots eat everytime I try not to binge read every book she has but it’s hard. Ancelin and Nasir love story was interesting to read through each book were starting to know more of their immortal past. Maeve is so evil it’s crazy
The genre may not be for everyone and normally, I am selective about whom I read. The story is not the normal para story. The story goes above and beyond that. In the story Ancelin had a feeling something strange was off with her life. She was sleep deprived and having very imaginable dreams. Nasir was brought in to protect her from whatever the issue was. Nasir can get it any day. IJS... Aram and Khalida also had issues with whatever the thing was. Once Nasir began his job, Ancelin had sexier dreams. I wanted one too. We'll have to wait to see what happens next. Oh my, this was a hot read you guys, and very enjoyable.
I loved Haunted so picking up this book to read Ancelin's book made me a happy girl! This book (and what I assume will be a continuing series) is giving me all that I need; paranormal activity, rich history, suspense, and sexy and sensual characters. Telling you that Ancelin and Nasir had sizzling chemistry would be putting it mildly. Did I mention suspenseful? This story opened up a whole new element to Ancelin and Khalida's history and I can't wait to see what's next.
Wow... Just wow... Just when you think CCJ has brought all the sauce, she goes back in her bag! 😏😉 Ancelin and Nasir were hot, fire, intense... That massage scene... 😮😯😏OMG!!! This story continued the other worldly connections and intensity from Haunted, giving more insights into Khalida and Ancelin's former lives. Yet again CCJ managed to make this paranormal story so good it was realistic. Can't wait for book 3!!!😍
Usually there is so much is the first book of a series that the ones that follow aren’t as good even though you start to see more of the picture. Not this time. Nasir and Celi are hot!! Even hotter than Aram and Lida. I really like where this is going. I’m so excited for the next book.
I am so glad we where able to get a story about Ancelin. I was intrigued with her character in Haunted. Most times the siblings of an heir are full of insecurities and jealousy. Her love and admiration for her sister was evident in Haunted and transparent in Coveted.
This eternally tethered series is full of twist. Grandmother Mauve is very shady and I’m seeing evidence that there was no accident to the King and Queen. She has selfish motives which makes her dangerous.
Ancelin is feeling discontent and lonely ready for love and passion like the fairytale princess she often speaks of and then she meets Nasir and feels a threatening spirit surrounding her. Khalida and Aram knows she’s in danger but choose not to tell her why. When the truth is revealed you relax and then the plot twist into a cliff hanger 🤦🏽♀️
Yep we are left hanging and that is so wrong! 😂
Is there going to be another installment? How long do we have to wait for it? 🙃
I rated this book: ⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥
It ended when it got good (yep) on a “to be continued” and some of those scenes had me struggling to imagine 🙃
In this contuation of my favorite newfound Paranormal Romance Saga, I am still just as spellbound as I was before. Jones (the author) once again showcases her talent of sophisticated characters with their respective captivating storylines. The chemistry between the protagonists is electric and their forbidden love is both heart-wrenching and intoxicating. While the pacing is well done here there are moments where I felt that the plot was a bit rushed. However, the undeniable emotional connections more than makes up for that. Overall, Coveted was a thrilling addition to the series that made me immediately be on the lookout for the audio of the third book.
Wow wow wow! I loved this more than the first book because I feel like we got more details regarding the Immortal World that all of the characters come from. We see more into the evil of Mave and she has a lot of explaining to do if a book 3 comes out! The chemistry and love between Nasir and Ancelin was hot and strong! Sooo many scenes I wanted those dreams to be reality for her too! I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for a part 3!
She better hunch a spirit lol I mean it was a short lil novella I suppose I enjoyed it better than the first one (according to my review cause I can't remember ish about it lol) but u probably won't remember it in a month
Book 2 of the series definitely turned up the heat. The backstory I was craving finally came into play, the spice was just right, and Christina C. Jones kept the momentum going like only she can. Now I’m hooked and heading straight into Book 3!
Even better than the first one. There was more information. Some hiles fulled in. Plus this book is very hot. Just a bit of a cliffhanger. So I'm moving right in to the next book. Happy reading!
