I was excited to be offered the opportunity to review this first edition of Lonely Planet's new Vegan Travel Handbook and am glad to say that it didn't disappoint. The successful Lonely Planet formula of gorgeous photographs combined with local information and insider tips works well with a vegan angle. It’s a cute little book with beautiful photography and design. It’s rather light on content, but I’m optimistic future editions will build on what’s there. As I plan for a year-long trip as a vegan, I did find some inspiration in its pages. Overall a fun jumping off point for further research and to build some travel excitement!

This was an informative travel guide full of beautiful photos and tempting vegan restaurants from around the world. I was so glad to stumble upon it! Each chapter includes a summary of the area, practicalities like when it is best to travel to that area, and useful phrases used when ordering food. It also has a synopsis on local cuisine, top restaurants in the area, and essential experiences to try while you’re there. A perfect read for a vegan with wanderlust!

I love the concept - a travel book for us vegans. But this was style over content. Beautifully laid out but too brief. It definitely needed to be longer, more comprehensive.
