A mystery sexter, a hookup, and some sexy yoga times...but real life isn't all rosy sunsets and walks along the beach.

Jasper is licking his wounds in paradise after being dumped, according to his ex, for someone more adventurous. The romantic Hawaiian getaway for two he booked hadn’t featured his sister as his plus one, but sometimes real life sucks.

For the two weeks

Short and sweet holiday romance with an international flair, this was the first book I've read from Beth.

I liked the idea of a text message gone astray, although I'm still not sure I bought how the numbers got mixed up, but it was a sweet meet cute.

I liked both the MCs and I got a good sense of the Hawaiian location, even though they never travelled beyond the hotel and beach.

The 'big misunderstanding' followed a common trope but it was handled well and I liked that things didn't drag on for wee

A sweet and lovable story. I loved Jasper and Tamal!

I really enjoy Beth’s writing. Her stories are so easy to read and have such lovable relatable and realistic characters! I love how she creates seemingly ordinary lovable men and gives them their happily ever after and Jasper is no exception!

I loved Jaspers quirky fumblings and Tamal’s sexy take charge attitude. These two ‘meet’ through a case of mistaken identity and an orchestrated private yoga encounter al

Such a cute tale with lovable MCs I was cheering for (Jasper especially), and just enough angst to make them work for their HEA. I especially love how Beth Laycock writes these wonderful tropical settings that just transport you while you're reading <3 Such a fluffy bit of joy! ...more

An entertaining meet-cute with a little angst thrown in. Both characters were well fleshed out and likable.

This story is short and cute, with a little bit of steam. I really like the calmness and serenity that is Tamal. On the flip side of that, I also liked how his take charge attitude came out in the bedroom.

This was *almost* an insta-love story, but thankfully the author didn't take it there.
For the most part this is a low drama story (aside from Jasper's ex showing up trying to cause some problems), so if you're looking for something fast, sweet and sexy then this is a good cleanser for you. Ju

Seems I'm in the minority when I say this story was just okay. The plot was okay, the characters were okay...nothing grabbed me. The sister was annoying, and the meddling was kinda farfetched. ...more

I LOVED THIS BOOK. Jasper and Tamal were so good together. Thanks to Jasper's sister, Jasper was given the greatest adventure ever. He found the love of his life. Tamal the same. Thanks to Jasper's sister's interference, he also found the love of his life. Through some small rough patches, they found their HEA. I was given this book through an authors give a away. ...more

Strange circumstances and odd choices

This book was alright, but as two key points to the whole story really didn't work out for me it didn't get any better than that. The whole idea of the cell.phone mixup was downright unusual, and it is never clear how this lady at the front desk would decide itade sense to get another person's number from a random patron. For a high end hotel that was just downright illogical. The texting irked me too, with the whole thing seeming a bit too unlikely to be the

An anniversary present gone wrong gives Jasper a second chance at love and a new outlook on life when he finds himself on a tropical vacation with his sister rather than his boyfriend. Smarting from his ex's cruel words, Jasper is determined to remain in his shell while only dipping his toes into paradise, but when he receives a sexy text from a wrong number, he just might gather enough courage to jump in feet first instead. Tamal might be just what he needs to to find who he really wants to be ...more

Salute to the Stud is a light, cute story with two sweet main characters. There is a meet cute element of mistaken identity here that leads into a vacation fling that turns to more. We spend most of the time in Jasper’s POV, so we get to know him better than Tamal, but for a shorter book, I think we get a pretty good sense of these guys overall. We get enough balance to their early relationship to believe there could be more between them than just sex, and Laycock

Yoga, surf, London

Novella set in both Hawaii and London, the plot revolves around yoga. The lead couple swap the narrative, filling in their characters and those supporting the story. Good heat. Apt descriptions of the locales. Enjoyable.

As I am a gatherer of books, I collect books and ebooks from a variety of sources: Goodreads wins, Bookhub, BookFunnel, emails from authors and publishers, and others. I do lose track of their sources. But, as a reader, I feel I should give an honest, unencumber

This was a short but sweet insta-love story about an emotionally damaged Jasper and an easy going, down-to-earth Tamal. You do have to read this with a large dose of incredulity (for instance: getting a mysterious sext from someone does not mean they're close by or in the same building. They could be halfway around the world, and yet when Jasper gets that sext, he somehow knows it's from someone in the same hotel as he is?) But if you can read this with a big dose of fairytale rather than realit ...more

What do you get when you mix one discouraged young man dumped by his ex, a vacation getaway with a sister as a plus-one, a misdirected sexy text, a smoking hot yoga instructor, an explosive one night stand, and thenthrow in some exotic Hawaiian scenery? You get this sweet, endearing, engaging, charming, lovely, smexy, and awesome story that had me hooked from beginning to end.

I made it almost all the way through and salute (lol, see what I did there?) the author's first effort. I hope she writes more. This one just fell flat for me, and once I hit 83% and realized that that's all there was to the story arc, I closed it, just not invested enough to spend time reading more about how these two ended up. (Happily ever after, I assume 😉) ...more

While this was a sweet and sexy novella; unfortunately, it never really got off the ground for me. I didn't feel the characters' connections and often found my attention easily diverted. This was a new-to-me author, and there's definite potential there, so I would certainly be open to giving her next book a shot.

Salute to the Stud is a hot romance with the guys meeting during a trip to Hawaii.

I like the storyline, but something was missing for me. I couldn't connect to the characters, and didn't feel any real relationship forming.

As well, I didn't like the title, as it just seems corny to me.

This was the first book of Beth’s that I have had the pleasure of picking up and I am so glad that I did! I have been in a little bit of a slump lately but I finally was able to pick this up and it is slowly pulling me back to normal.

Jasper was a great character, likable and sweet. I didn’t feel a huge connection to him but I liked his vulnerability and his strength to move on.

Tamal was a character who made me think of Jason Momoa; definitely not a bad visual!

His character was a bit of a conundr

Salute to the Stud is cute holiday romance novella. It's set on Hawaii, where Jasper is having a holiday, and London, where he lives. He meets Tamal, a hot yoga teacher, there and they have a fling, but can't seem to get enough of each other. Their romance is sweet with a bit of steam on the side, but there's also some angst involved as Jasper has to get back to real life after the holiday.

Salute to the Stud is a quick and sweet read, but sadly that's all it is. Jasper and Tamal are nice main ch

Beth Laycock’s books are influenced by her time living overseas as well as the gritty, urban landscape of the north of England where she grew up.

She has been reading romance since she was old enough to tell herself that line every book lover does—just one more chapter.

As a teenager she attempted to write her first novel, and many more since then that are still gathering dust on her bookshelf. It w
