I don’t give this book 5 stars simply because it is full of punctuation errors... I have no idea how an editor would let that slide. But if that’s ignored, the book is full of wonderful tales, anecdotes and history making stories. Jimmy Capps was one of the last of a generation of Nashville’s finest musicians. What a life. And this book has led me to new musical and literary discoveries. Capps died in June 2020, not long after this book was published. The music world lost a great one.
I got this book for my Mother. She loved it. She is 91years young and smart as a whip. She watches you on RFD TV. After she read it I read it. I really enjoyed it. I also watch you on TV. You are a great guitar player. I now know why everyone says you are truly a great man also. Your book says it all! Humble and Kind!
I've met Jimmy Capps and knew his son Mark many years ago. I'm also a musician who appreciates God given talent. jimmy passed away on 6/1/2020. Jimmy's book includes a lot of history about Nashville and country music. He played guitar on the Grand Old Opry for over 60 years. He was a session musician who played on hundreds of country albums.
Interestingly written autobiography of a legendary session musician in Nashville. In addition to his stories and memories, there are testimonials and stories from the people he was associated with.
