With Bynes' relatable and practical style of biblical teaching, this book will inspire and equip you for an amazing adventure with God that will not only serve others, but also bring glory to Him. Nothing is impossible with God as your Ultimate CEO and business partner. With God as the CEO we are able to move more intentionally with our businesses in alignment to the Kingdom. Touches on spiritual gifts, stewardship, heavenly ROI, and radical faith and obedience. We should've cut ourselves off to the infinite abundance He provides. And this doesn't just relate to business.
I really wanted to love this book, I even sought out this read to get some guidance on allowing the Holy Spirit to lead my business ventures. Pretty much everything discussed in the book felt self-explanatory: pray over your decisions, trust His plans, build His kingdom not yours, etc…
I would have loved to see more concepts and stories to help conceptualize these super basic points the author was making, then at least the writing would have been engaging. For example at the end of the book, she did go over the AGAPE Framework, which while still basic, at least the information was displayed in a manner which could easily be taken and applied somewhere.
Everything else felt like a rant about stuff believers already know, not how to actually apply and follow-through on the points.
Reviewing the audiobook, which doesn't seem to be listed on Goodreads: The author narrates, which allows her to put the emphasis where she intends it and draws the listener in.
Content: It should be no surprise that in God's upside-down Kingdom the approach for entrepreneurs would be unlike what's generally expected. The author challenges Christian entrepreneurs to first pursue intimacy with God and to learn to hear His leading. Through numerous Scriptures she illustrates Kingdom principles including obedience to the King, trust, and something she calls "Kingdom math" which is God multiplying small things for big results. This is not "name it and claim it" teaching -- it's trusting God to "name" our next step(s) and then to equip us to do what He asks.
This is a resource I'll want to go through again. Too many good teaching nuggets I couldn't write down or bookmark because I was listening while driving.
If you're a Christian entrepreneur looking to infuse your business practices with faith, "Doing Business God's Way" by Shay Bynes is a must-read. This book, narrated by the author herself, is a quick listen but packed with wisdom and guidance straight from the Bible. Bynes shares numerous scripture references, making it an invaluable resource for anyone who believes the Bible is the ultimate guide for life and business.
I found the audiobook so compelling that I listened to it in one day, but I’m eagerly awaiting my physical copy to dive deeper into the scriptures she shared. The journey of entrepreneurship is filled with highs and lows, and this book offers a refreshing perspective on navigating those moments by putting God at the helm of your business.
For all the Christian business owners, entrepreneurs, and solopreneurs out there, this book could be the inspiration and encouragement you need. Highly recommended!
Her emphasis is on waiting for the Holy Spirit. Some people could interpret this as an excuse to do nothing. Sometimes if you want God to direct your steps, you need to take some. Even if you make mistakes, you can learn from them and He will redirect you. For a driven person, this is good advice to simply wait. As long as you keep this in balance, this is a good recommendation to wait. The main point which I agree with is to be totally in tune with the Holy Spirit and who can argue with that?
By the title, I thought it would be a "Dave Ramsey" level of practical insight in applying the Bible to my business. It was more higher level and shorter. I would like to read more in depth how I do business God's way. E.g., What about business tithing? Does the part in the Pentatuech about the first 5 years of fruit trees apply to business in general? Other similar questions. Examples of loving customers in the marketplace?
I really loved reading this book that I could not put it down. I learned a lot on how to do business God’s way. That’s the only way you are going to be successful and not stressed out. We have to be willing to come out of our comfort zone and let GOD lead us n every aspect of our life even our Business and even when t does not make since. Thank you so much Shane. Keep allowing God to use you me guide you.
I really enjoyed reading this book and being challenged to integrate my faith, life, and work. Shae does an amazing job using scripture to encourage entrepreneurs to yield their business plans and actions to Biblically based standards! This book is very thought-provoking, yet easy to read.
This book answered some of the conflicts and questions that I had being a Christian business owner that I didn’t even realize that I had. I loved the line drawn between being a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur vs merely being a Christian business owner. Really great read for every Christian involved in business.
Excellent resource for entrepreneurs especially faith-based entrepreneurs. I loved the concept of intentionally involving God in your daily business practices.
Shae is such a gifted writer and motivator. This book offers so much business insight like I’ve never heard before and is so needed for Christians in business. So grateful and blessed to have come across this book!
This book balances the faith and practical business advice . The author's approach is grounded in faith and wisdom. It helped me in many ways. Worth a second read.
