You're going to love what Christy Reece has written for grown-up Raphael Sanchez and Giselle Reddington! Last time we saw these two, they were mere teenagers crushing on each other as her ruthless father, Stanford Reddington, held Jamie Kendrick hostage in Sweet Revenge. A lot has changed in seven years and now, in Running Strong, readers are in for a journey fraught with action and suspense with Raphael and Giselle smack dab in the middle of it all. And finally the long-awaited romance between the star-crossed young lovers is the icing on the cake – and oh what a sweet treat it is!
As a reader, I have two primary requests:
1) I want an emotional experience, and
2) I want to be entertained
and Christy Reece never disappoints by fulfilling them both.
Awaiting readers is a masterfully designed storyline infused with unexpected surprises and unforgettable characters, along with reunions among those beloved characters from the LCR series. Even the host of secondary characters add their own special blend of spice (and everything nice) to the story through their individuality. And, of course, you can always count on a devious, evil and vile villain or two that are Reece’s trademark. A solid feature throughout the entire Last Chance Rescue series is this author’s ability to bring these characters to life on the pages. She has that rare talent to “show, not just tell” their stories.
Romantic suspense reigns supreme in the last book of this favorite series. (I can't think about it without tears!) But hope springs eternal because there's a new series in the works, and it sounds really intriguing with a character that has already caught my eye with only three little words -- but I'm not going to tell you what they are! You will, however, get a quick glimpse of the new leader of the pack as he makes a small appearance when Noah needs a helping hand.

When you read a Christy Reece book, you expect a few things. You expect a villain that is evil and demented, you expect to be entertained from the first page to the last and lastly you expect a fun, action packed journey. That is exactly what you get with Running Strong. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. While I have loved all of the LCR Elite series, I have to admit, this was by far my favorite. A second chance love story with some twists and turns that will keep you guessing. As a bonus, some of our favorites from the LCR family pop in to help save the day.

Christy Reece has managed to give her readers another terrific romantic suspense story. While part of the LCR Elite series, this book can be read as a stand alone. The supporting characters are the same from story to story but each book follows one couple & their journey to happiness.
Raphael & Giselle fell in love when they were younger & were tragically torn apart. Giselle loved him too much to let him forgo his dreams as she entered WITSEC & the nomadic lifestyle that goes with it.
Fast forward several years & Raphael has the life of his dreams but can’t enjoy it without Giselle. Giselle finds herself in danger & turns to Raphael & LCR for help. While bringing down the crime family threatening Giselle, the chemistry & attraction grows between Giselle & Raphael while they remember what drew them together in the past. Will Raphael forgive her for the way she left him? What will he do when he finds out the secret she’s withheld from him for all these years?
I enjoy these stories & the mix of romance & suspense. They are gritty stories about the Alpha men & strong women that protect others when they can’t look out for themselves. I love the way they have become a family & have each other’s back. The strong connections & interactions between them adds emotion & drama to the story. This is a story that grabbed my attention from the first page & didn’t let up until the last page was finished.

There isn’t a book Christy Reece has written that I dislike. She is one of the very few authors who I will preorder books from, sight unseen, and I never regret the purchase. Honestly, I would wager that even her grocery lists are written so well that I would be enthralled. She is simply that talented. And this book was even better than I dreamed it could be. Literally, could NOT put it down until I finished it.
I love the LCR books (although the Grey Justice books are also my favorite indulgences), but the story of Raphael and Giselle … their story was both tragic and beautiful, keeping me spellbound into the wee hours of the morning. I don’t want to give too many details because spoilers would ruin the amazing read, but I can honestly say that it is probably my favorite of all the LCR books so far. Absolutely LOVED IT and can’t wait to read it again. Her books are just THAT GOOD.

This has to be my favourite story in this series so far. The teenagers Raphael and Giselle are now adults and their story will have you gripped from the start right the way through. There are so many twists and turns to this, will Raphael ever be able to forgive and can Giselle ever forgive herself...
The LCR members are all united throughout this book and could someone take on Noah McCall and rock the stability of his LCR Family and win..
You dont need to read all of the previous books to enjoy Running Strong but this is an absolutely exceptional series by Christy Reece and is well worth reading.

Wow! This book is such a gem! In fact, it’s one of my favorite Romantic Suspense books in a very long time.
Raphael and Giselle return in this newest addition to the series. Some old dangers linger while new ones cause even more problems. As she always does, Christy Reece has created a truly vile bad guy (the very best kind!) but it’s the connection between the characters that really make this book work. And not just the connection between Raphael and Giselle, but that between all the characters, including favorites from past books. In fact, perhaps my favorite relationship in this book is that of Noah and Raphael. That mentor/ mentee, father/ son vibe they have going on makes them both that much more swoon-worthy. ❤️
This book is filled with action, romance, emotion, and fun! #mynewfave

Running Strong has got to be the best yet from Author Christy Reece. If you have read any of her LCR series you will be thrilled to see some of your old friends in Running Strong. I found the action Running Strong to thrilling! There was never a dull moment through out the story. If you don’t read any other book this month read Running Strong By Christy Reece. It is defiantly a five star book!

Christy Reece just keeps giving life to these stories, each and every time. The LCR series and the LCR Elite have become almost like family. Each story catches us up with some couples from other stories and usually involve them in the current storyline. This time, it’s epic.
Raphael was introduced a few years ago as a young boy, looking to escape the life he was being forced to live. He wanted more and the LCR group were the ones to help him find it. Little did he know the life he would have.
Giselle was the captive of a madman and she didn’t even know it. When her father’s evil nature came out and she realized the life she had been living was full of lies, the only person she could trust was the boy who had been there with her through it all. Together, they would make a new life.
But fate always has its own plan and evil seems to never really be conquered. As the past catches up with Giselle and Raphael, they have to learn how to let go of past mistakes and move on to a new and better future.
Thank you, Christy Reece, for always giving us those heroes we can believe in and the strong women who stand beside them.

“Raphael glanced out the window but instead of the dark night skies, he saw Giselle the first day he’d met her.” This brought me back to that moment when Raphael and Giselle met, and it both broke my heart and made it whole again.
Running Strong is the latest in the LCR series, and quite probably my favorite. I feel like we know Raphael, we were desperate for his story and Christy Reece does not disappoint with this one!

Christy Reece never fails to deliver ! This is perhaps my very favorite in her LCR and LCR Elite series. Running Strong tells Giselle & Raphael’s story, but also gives us some wonderful glimpses of so many of the characters we loved in the past. Good and evil, REALLY evil ! , and of course a love story that draws you in. I truly loved this chapter of LCR and hope they’ll be another ! Running Strong can surely be read as a stand-alone but do yourself a favor and the past books in Christy’s backlist while you’re waiting for this one. They are so worth it!

Raphael and Giselle were star crossed lovers as teens. Giselle has to go into WITSEC and wrote a note to end it with Raphael. Now 7 years later Giselle needs help and turns to LCR and Raphael.
Full of suspense from beginning to end that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved the story and the characters. This is part of a series but it could be read as a stand alone. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars.

Oh my goodness my heart is pounding, my blood pressure is sky high and wow what an amazing, addictive and incredible book. It has everything you could ever hope for in this fast paced non stop story. All the characters are there all pulling together to save the day. I absolutely loved this and highly recommend it to you. Perfect just perfect.

Christy Reece is a master storyteller and there is a reason why she is a NYT best selling author. This latest book is no exception and proves her talent once again with its twists and turns
I won’t go into details as Christy always has a twist that you never see coming, but I loved Raphael and Giselle’s story and the journey of their young love to who they are now. I was also wonderful to see so many of the former LCR characters for this last book in the series.
It was a perfect wrap up and ending and I’m already excited about the new series (which we get a hint of in this book).

Another great book! As always dragged me in and I couldn't put it down.
Great character development. I was feeling right along with them. If there is edge of the seat reading this author is one of the best of putting me there! I highly recommend each one of her books!

Christy Reece writes the most awesome/awful corrupt villains out in the book world. She tops herself with every book she puts out. I have been waiting on Raphael’s story for a while. Christy gave him time to grow up from when he was first introduced in the series. Raphael was once a victim that was saved by LCR (Run to Me) and years later is living his dream of being an LCR Elite operative. The final to this first-rate series offers so much. There are multiple, surprising twists to the story, it gave me Raphael’s story and his HEA, it brought back ALL the LCR operatives from the LCR and LCR Elite series, it has the strong hero and the equally strong heroine, and it combined action, suspense, and romance all woven in the storyline seamlessly. Wonderful read from page one to the end.

Giselle Reddington grew up a virtual prisoner on an island until her family was rescued and, her father was imprisoned for human trafficking. Giselle then fell in love with Raphael but, had to disappear into WITSEC, and marry a man she barely knew. When he was killed in a car accident, she was put in an insane asylum by her in laws and, they now have her son, Gio.
Raphael had a horrible childhood but, chose to join LCR as soon as he could. Noah, the head of LCR, has now had his wife and children kidnapped. LCR swings into action to get Noah's family back then, once that happens, Giselle has to tell them about her other secret, one she feels might push Gabriel away forever.
I hadn't read an LCR story for a while but, as soon as I started this book, I fell right back into this world, feeling right at home and, happy to catch up on what had happened while I was gone.
That is the type of book you WANT to READ!!!

I have been a huge LCR-LCR Elite fan from the very beginning. I’ve been looking forward to Raphael’s story for years. Christy’s writing always brings out all the emotions and she writes in depth characters that stay with you forever. I highly recommend Running Strong. It’s one of my favorite of the series. We get to see and visit past characters. Raphael and Giselle’s story is beautiful. If you’ve read all the LCR books you’ll remember when they met. Their story is full of hurt, forgiveness and above everything else love.
Christy writes evil villains with scary greatness.

We’ve had a few stumbles here and there but for the most part, we’ve managed to stop them. “These people are different. They’ve got layers upon layers. Every time we think we’ve got a thread it disappears down a rabbit hole.”

What a wild ride. I was literally on the edge of my seat gripping my kindle and at times had to put it down. And think noooooo.
The past and the present come together to make for an absolutely combustible collision.
Raphael & Giselle’s story was pure masterful genius. This book had everything AND all of our favorite characters from the LCR series. And some characters we wished long dead. The storyline was layered and absolutely brilliant pulling together so many stories and characters. I was riveted...and stressed, lol.
Christy Reece delivered a powerful, gripping awesome finale to a series that has been my favorite for so many years. Her writing was flawless and the emotion in the book along with the action was perfection. While I’m sad to see this series come to an end. I will read and follow this author always! 💙📖💙

Running Strong is the fifth exciting romantic suspense thriller in author Christy Reece’s LCR Elite series. The LCR group, Last Chance Rescue, is a specialized private group that rescues people who are in extremely difficult situations.
This book includes many characters from Ms. Reece’s other LCR books. Fortunately, this author does a fantastic job of explaining who every returning character is in order to help the reader understand this story.
The main characters in this book, Raphael Sanchez and Giselle Reddington, appeared in two other LCR books, Last Chance and Sweet Revenge. Since the pasts of both of these characters are very important to this story, Ms. Reece thoroughly explains everything we need to know. Therefore, readers can enjoy this novel even if they have not read the other books.
In the first chapter, Giselle breaks up with Raphael, even though they are obviously madly in love with each other. She has her reasons, but Raphael has no knowledge of them. Therefore, he is bitterly angry at her even years later. However, since the breakup, Raphael has achieved his dream of becoming a member of the LCR Elite group.
When Giselle and her family become the targets of someone who wants to kill her, she comes to LCR for help. She is very aware that Raphael works there, but she knows that she needs their experience to save her and to find her young son.
Noah McCall, his wife, Samara, and their two children are also a big part of this story. Noah created LCR and is its leader. Many readers fell in love with this couple when they had their own story in one of the older LCR books. It is wonderful to see that Noah and his family have a longer storyline and play an important role in this story.
I love Christy Reece’s characters. She creates characters that are realistic and three-dimensional. Raphael had an extremely difficult life and his own set of problems. Since then he has become a rough and tough operative for LCR. Yet, he is kind, gentle and respectful to Giselle, even though he is still bitter about her actions.
On the other hand, Giselle had an easy life until she discovered who her father was. However, since she left Raphael, she has had an extremely difficult time. However, her experiences have made her a tough woman who can take care of herself.
The villains in Running Strong have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. They are mean, selfish and have no regard for human life. Killing is just another way for them to get their own way. However, like most villains, they are people we love to hate!
Ms. Reece is a fantastic storyteller. In fact, this book has so many twists, turns and obstacles that the reader barely gets a chance to breathe before she creates another difficult hurdle for this couple to tackle. Even though we find out early in the story who most of the villains are, their despicable plots are unexpected and lethal enough to enthrall the reader.
This novel is a page-turner which makes it very difficult to put down. I highly recommend this book, and every other book, in Christy Reece’s LCR and LCR Elite series.

This book includes many characters from Ms. Reece’s other LCR books. Fortunately, this author does a fantastic job of explaining who every returning character is in order to help the reader understand this story.
The main characters in this book, Raphael Sanchez and Giselle Reddington, appeared in two other LCR books, Last Chance and Sweet Revenge. Since the pasts of both of these characters are very important to this story, Ms. Reece thoroughly explains everything we need to know. Therefore, readers can enjoy this novel even if they have not read the other books.
In the first chapter, Giselle breaks up with Raphael, even though they are obviously madly in love with each other. She has her reasons, but Raphael has no knowledge of them. Therefore, he is bitterly angry at her even years later. However, since the breakup, Raphael has achieved his dream of becoming a member of the LCR Elite group.
When Giselle and her family become the targets of someone who wants to kill her, she comes to LCR for help. She is very aware that Raphael works there, but she knows that she needs their experience to save her and to find her young son.
Noah McCall, his wife, Samara, and their two children are also a big part of this story. Noah created LCR and is its leader. Many readers fell in love with this couple when they had their own story in one of the older LCR books. It is wonderful to see that Noah and his family have a longer storyline and play an important role in this story.
I love Christy Reece’s characters. She creates characters that are realistic and three-dimensional. Raphael had an extremely difficult life and his own set of problems. Since then he has become a rough and tough operative for LCR. Yet, he is kind, gentle and respectful to Giselle, even though he is still bitter about her actions.
On the other hand, Giselle had an easy life until she discovered who her father was. However, since she left Raphael, she has had an extremely difficult time. However, her experiences have made her a tough woman who can take care of herself.
The villains in Running Strong have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. They are mean, selfish and have no regard for human life. Killing is just another way for them to get their own way. However, like most villains, they are people we love to hate!
Ms. Reece is a fantastic storyteller. In fact, this book has so many twists, turns and obstacles that the reader barely gets a chance to breathe before she creates another difficult hurdle for this couple to tackle. Even though we find out early in the story who most of the villains are, their despicable plots are unexpected and lethal enough to enthrall the reader.
This novel is a page-turner which makes it very difficult to put down. I highly recommend this book, and every other book, in Christy Reece’s LCR and LCR Elite series.

Running Strong brings us full circle back to characters – both good and bad - from an earlier book in the LCR series. Giselle Reddington father was evil incarnate and at the end of Sweet Revenge
his reign of terror came to an end and Giselle and her mother and siblings were finally free. But Stanford Reddington even locked away for life still has power and influence on the outside.
Giselle and Raphael Sanchez were young when they met and fell in love during the time LCR was working to take her father down. They continued their romance in college but her father's threats had Giselle making a huge sacrifice to keep Raphael safe.
After some backstory in the first chapter the story jumps 7 years to current day where Giselle has once again found herself in danger and needing LCR's help which includes LCR Elite operative Raphael who has done his best to put his broken heart and anger over how Giselle dumped him 7 years ago.
As per this series we get an emotional story full of heartbreak and suspense. These characters after all these years have become like family and its sad this is the last of the LCR elite series but it was a very satisfying conclusion and I can wait to see what's next from this author.

I really enjoyed Running Strong! It was great to catch up with everyone and see who's had kids, who's expecting etc. We got to see everyone in this book. I was surprised Noah held back on his matchmaking a little in this one.
I loved Giselle and Raphael together. Giselle, is an amazing young woman, I liked how she saw how much her mother tried to protect them from their father. I liked Raphael and Giselle's relationship, she had just as much strength as he did.
Raphael is such a good man, I was so happy to see him grow up and be a part of LCR Elite. I also appreciated his desire to look out for Giselle even when his was so angry and hurt by her.
I can't wait to see what Christy comes up with next!

LCR does it again, as does Christy Reece. The quality of the story and the complexity of the plot make this book one of the best so far. All of LCR's operatives have history unlike most and that is what contributes to the depth of the plot. I am looking forward to whatever comes next...

You can never go wrong with a Christy Reece story,romance,action and intrigue as well as family and fun.In this one Raphael Sanchez is all grown up and so is Giselle Reddington but when Giselle has to go into WITSEC rather than telling Raphael she just leaves,leaving a note, because she knows Raphael wants to be a part of LCR and help others so she feels this is the best thing to do. A second chance to be together is waiting thanks to evil,crazy villains and so many unexpected twists and turns you will be on the edge of your seat till the very end. Their story is tragic,heartbreaking and sweet.As with all Christy Reece.s books it's a must read.

I have loved every book Christy Reece has written and Running Strong is no exception. I have read & loved all the LCR & LCR Elite books, but I have been waiting for the story of Raphael and Giselle. Their story was beautiful, I couldn’t put it down and was seriously upset when “adulting” kept me from reading. The story kept me enthralled and on the edge from beginning to end. I can take or leave second chance romances they must be very well written & believable for me to enjoy them and this was SO was. I love that both characters were able to open up to each other and admit their faults in regard to what put them in their current situation. I love Christy Reeece’s books because they have a perfect mix of romance & suspense. I love that in this story we got to see a few old friends and get a small glimpse as to where they are in their personal lives right now.

wow i kinda saw that coming, but it was done beautifully. Raphael was a bit of a jerk when facing the truth of their pasts, but thankfully he grew up fast enough that i was able to forgive him. Love a good happy ending and Christy deliver every time. Cannot wait for what's next.

I loved this book. We met Raphael and Giselle years before this story takes place when her father, Reddington (one of the vilest of criminals), was taken down. They were in love then, but now was their real chance at happiness, but a lot had to be worked through to get to that point. There are consequences for everything and the answers are not always simple, but sometimes, love is the easiest answer. Don’t miss this book!

I really just don't know what to say besides OUTSTANDING BOOK! I have read all of Christy's books and I have to say this one is the best! It has you from the beginning and just never lets you go! I really felt like I was in the book with the characters and the real world just faded away. The saying "They save the best for last" is true!

"His last conscious thought was his mind screaming for Mara". There are two families who we know and love going through more than you can imagine to be together. This book grabs you on so many levels. You will catch up with old friends and your heart will ache and then sing for Noah and Mara and then watching Raphael and Giselle overcome their obstacles for their happily ever after. It's a most fabulous ride. You won't want to put it down or for it to end. Hurry and buy this book. It's a keeper!
