This book right here was one of my most highly anticipated reads of the year/the century/ to say I'm a fan of military reads is an understatement, they just seem to hit right in the heart, and this book was no different!!
As soon as I started this I was hooked, couldn't put it down, loved the journey the author set me on, raw, real, and riveting, I didn't want it to end!!

She was my best friend when we were younger, until I left her behind for the Army. I never expected to see her years later in the middle of a brutal war, combat uniform on, bruised and defiant. And I never expected her to be familiar with one of the 'brothers' in my team, their connection undeniable. She was never meant to be mine, but turns out I'm a selfish bastard.

This book was without a shadow of a doubt an emotional ride.

Since the beginning I knew it was going to be an epic story, for starters I’m a sucker for military romance…duh. And second, I have read other books of Kate before and have loved them all.

I went into this book completely blind, I didn’t read the blurb or Fighting Redemption (now that I know Ryan and Fin I’m definitely going to read it). You will FEEL this story with your whole heart, It's crazy angsty and so emotionally charged that it

Wow, what a read! What an amazing, emotional, incredible, beautiful read! A military-themed friends-to-lovers love story that is surprising, unexpected, unique and absolutely epic! I was completely captivated from start to finish and I loved every moment of it. Definitely a fave for 2019.

First up, be aware that this book ties in with McCarthy’s incredible Fighting Redemption. You can read this one as a standalone and don’t have to have read that book first, bu

Court: I have spent life waxing poetic with how much I love Kate McCarthy, her writing, her characters and just everything this woman does...and I legit thought I had reached just about the top the bar that she set for me in which I could love her. I was wrong. This book absolutely slayed me...in the best way possible. I honestly thought that Fighting Redemption could not be topped, because it was an epic tale of love, loss and ahem, redemption. This book however, really delved deep into what we ...more

ARC received from author for an honest review

Once upon a time, a blogger read a book called Fighting Redemption by Kate McCarthy, and said "this is the best book I have ever read" and told everyone that would listen that they must read it.

Blogger said that no book could come close to this one in her esteem.

Then Kate McCarthy produces a follow up book called Fighting Absolution, and blogger needs to eat her words.

Fighting Absolution is right along side Redemption with the best books she has ever

OMGOODNESS!!! What the heck is going on with my emotions? Kate McCarthy did some sweet damage to my sweet sweet heart. This book had me tied up in nots. Literally. I couldn't put it down but I ended up taking more breaks then usual because HONESTLY I didn't want the story to END. The amount of tears I shed could have helped a small country. The Amazing skill and grace that was sgown through every word on every page is a true testament to Kate and her crazy talent. I realize that she had a lot if ...more

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Kate McCarthy book, and I have absolutely no idea how or why it took me so long to discover this author and her books. This story, it immediately captivated me with its characters. Told mostly from Jamie's POV, shes the surly, standoff-ish teen who won't let anyone in. That is, until the pushy, won't give up boy on the other side of the fence, Bear comes along and worms his way into her heart and tells her to make

6 STAR BOOK REVIEW (and I don't give 6 stars lightly....) .

There are moments in a bloggers reading life when we pick up a book and can't put it down. I love those. I look for those. Search high and low on the daily for those. But then there are books that change you. They create a weird little shift inside you that you don't really feel until you've finished the book. Then a longing begins. A feeling of loss. A missing piece.

"I wish I met you under different circumstances. And that I could be your first kiss. Maybe one day I’ll regret that I wasn’t. In fact, I’m pretty sure I already do."

What an emotional and sexy story! Kate McCarthy writes amazing military romance. Her earlier book 'Fighting Redemption' is one of my favorites so I was anxiously awaiting the release of her latest book. This story combines a coming-of-age story with an emotional romance for a beautifully written story.

I love being a blogger and having the opportunity of letting the wonderful word of readers know when I come across a book that just blows your world. Fighting Absolution is an epic masterpiece.

"Don't cry little Warrior"

How do I survive the hangover I am left in after reading The End. I thought Fighting Redemption was bloody brilliant, but this one takes the cake. Fighting Absolution is a tough read - a tough read emotionally that is. Strap yourself in, because you are in for one hell of a ride.

5 Be Happy Stars! What an emotional roller coaster ride! This storyline is beautifully heartbreaking and so worth the read! Friendship and loss is a huge theme woven throughout this story. You won’t be able to put it down. I absolutely loved Kyle and Jamie. Their story has all the FEELS! Can be read as a stand-alone but having read Fighting Redemption elevated this story to another level. I highly recommend this must read!

6 “Little Warrior” Stars

My heart is so full right now. I just finished reading one of my top favorite reads of this year! Hook, line, and sinker I was captivated from the start. This story grabbed me and didn’t for one second let me go until I reached the end. I was overwhelmed by the amount of emotions this story poured out of me. On more than one occasion there were bouts here and there where I was so deeply struck to the core with feelings I found myself shedding tears. This story punched me

‘Fighting Absolution’ is not quite a conventional romance, so that’s best to get that out of the way at the start. For those who are used to the establishing scene of the protagonists following a particular trope they are familiar with, this tosses all of it out of the window. Maybe I’m one of those, so inured to tropes and straight-up, direct coupledom despite the difficulty the protagonists face getting together. After all, it’s the classification of romance, isn’t it?

This book gave me chills! I've read my fair share of military romances but this one was knocked it out of the park!

I know when a book is absolutely amazing when I fear writing a review.

My copy of this book is completely highlighted.

Fighting Absolution was a wonderfully addictive love story filled with heat, heartbreak, and self-discovery. The emotional beats were satisfying and held weight as they carried long into next one all while the character-driven story unfolded with no rush. There was so much more than a love story to be told and I adored every moment of it.

McCarthy wonderfully captured the essence of Jamie’s character from a struggling teen girl to the young woman searching for a sense of belonging.

If you’re looking for an amazing Military themed romance, you MUST READ this book!!!! I read the first book, Fighting Redemption, in 2014 and absolutely loved it. 5 years later I still remember all the feels and ugly cries that story instigated, and it remains one of my favorite military romances. It’s no wonder that Fighting Absolution delivered just as many emotions and left me in a muddled mess. And bonus: It can be read as a complete stand-alone.

OMG this book was hands down the best book I’ve read in 2019 thus far.

Kate McCarthy has created a piece of brilliance with her latest military romance, Fighting Absolution.

After reading Fighting Redemption (which is also one of my favs) I knew that I would love this book. From the start of this book, I did not want to put it down. The detail that Kate went into with the scenes is so in depth that I was absolutely fascinated.

I cried along with Jamie and felt her pain and her healing throughout. I love how strong she is. I love how through everything she doesn't give up. Oh wow. Where can I even start with this? Maybe I should start by saying that I haven't read Fighting Redemption. I'm seriously kicking myself for that. Not because it's needed--this is a complete standalone--but it is in the same world, with some shared characters, and I know I'm gonna need more of it.

Despair, angst, surprise, impending doom, laughter, hope, devastation, camaraderie, love, friendship, acceptance, and finally absolution. I knew by the blurb that this would be an amazing read. Fighting Absolution went above and beyond my already high expectations. This 6 star story consumed me while I was reading and way after I was done.

It starts with a bond that was formed between a boy and a girl. Their time spent talking to each other by the fence was precious. Until it stopped. Jamie never forgot about the mysterious boy. Now many years later she is joining the army. She’s looking for a family, a place to belong. She will ma
