The second in a 10 part serial that follows Joe and Kelly through the ups and downs of their relationship.
This second installment sees Joe and Kelly agreeing to a sex-only relationship. Well, Joe wants more and is going to use Kelly's rules to lure her into it. Again the writing is very good and the sex scenes are hot.
My problem is, I am not sure I am going to have the patience to continue this whole "one only wants sex and the other more" dealio for 8 more books. Kelly is already getting on my nerves. I'm also confused about her whole relationship with Rico. Is this going to turn into a HEA menage? It feels wrong she is spending hours on the phone with him behind Joe's back.
I'm intrigued enough that I'll continue on with the series for now.

This book picks up right where Good Girl left off. Kelly, naked in bed with Joe. Ooh la la! She definitely chose the right person to open her body and mind to the pleasure of sex. He completely blew her mind.
What she doesn't realise is how much she has affected him too. He does not do sex with cuddles and feelings but something about Kelly is making him want to be like that, with her. He knows she is completely out of his league but he wants her.
"Joe didn’t just lick me. He ate me with his whole mouth."
Kelly is feeling it to and she knows that she needs to set boundaries, really quickly, or she will be falling for this guy and that can only end in heartbreak. They are not suited, have different backgrounds and her family would never accept him. Therefore, 'friends with benefits' is the only way they can go. She couldn't have found a better man to teach her.
"Joe was my Tree of Knowledge, and I’d eaten of his carnal fruit. It tasted juicy and decadent."
There is just no way the passionate sex between them can happen without some emotion slipping in and this is going to makes things very interesting for them....
"This pussy. This was the only pussy I’d have for the rest of my life. I knew it like I knew the sun would rise tomorrow."
I love Joe's filthy mouth and my husband definitely benefited from my enjoyment of this deliciously smutty read.

If you just want to read the review then you can wait I guess. I read both Good Girl and Irresistible Jerk today. They are short, fun and uber hot little stories!
Irresistible Jerk literally picks up a few hours after the ending of Good Girl. Joe wakes up and goes at it, okay not quite like that, but close enough. Oh if I forgot to mentions these are Erotic Romances! Very adult! Without ruining the story the plot of this is that Joe is a tatted up, foul mouth bad boy and Kelly is a church going, very prim and proper virgin. She has decided that she wants to have no strings attached fun with Joe.
The flip side of this is that Joe very much has feelings for her, he was crushing on her in Good Girl before they actually met. In this one, I would say both of them struggle with boundaries and trying not to cross them, and well I won't say exactly but I think a 3rd person will come into play with them as well. At least that is the feeling I got while reading certain parts of this. I could be wrong and when you read this you should know exactly what I am talking about.
There were some things I wasn't overly fond of like at times Joe was a jerk, but I get that he was trying to stay in a role. I thought Kelly was a tad snobby and way too worried about what her family things. I was a little mad about another situation (which I can't tell you because spoilers...) but at the same time, I am kind of intrigued to see where Mira goes with this story.
I really enjoyed both books, they were super quick and fun to read. I will be looking forward to reading the next one when it comes out!

Kelly is a pastors kid. She grew up conservative, and Joe is the exact opposite of her in so many ways. She's innocent and pure, while he's down and dirty, a one way dancer with the devil. He doesn't want to be with her, not wanting to corrupt her with his darkness, but she's too tempting to resist. So they have fun.

The fact that this series is a serial is going to kill me.
In Irresistible Jerk, Stanley picks up right where she left us in Good Girl and oh man will readers be glad she does. The book starts off hot and hard with one hell of a sex scene then kicks up the angst and backstory while scattering in a few new characters. The fast pace she set in the first book is continued in the second, but in Irresistible Jerk, Stanley switches between Joe's voice and Kelly's voice. It's a smart move, giving us a better feel for our main characters while totally not skimping on the sex.
Final thoughts - Get it. Read it. Keep a glass of water handy to cool yourself down.

Wow. The second book is even better than the first.
I loved Good Girl so much I burnt a batch of cookies because I just couldn't. Put. It. Down! This sexy little book has all the things I loved about the first version, and then some.
Mira Stanley's romance still manages to be both sweet and ultra-hot. Plus, we finally get inside Kelly's head for another smoldering view of Joe, and hey, it turns out Kelly is a fascinating, nuanced and believable character too. Put the two of them together and, damn, I can't wait to see where this is going to go!

Irresistible Jerk by Mira Stanley is book two in the Dirty Minds Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Sean Crisden.
Mira did a great job with this storyline. It does end on a cliffhanger but book three Getting Messy is already released. I can’t wait to dive in. This series is a quick and steamy read.
Sean did an amazing job narrating. I love his deep gruff voice for Joe and he does a great voice for Kelly. It made it really easy to keep up with the storyline. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.

Mira Stanley’s second installment in the Dirty Minds series is just as much of a delight as the first one was—actually, I think I liked it even better. I especially loved delving a little deeper into Kelly’s psyche and getting a better feel for her conflict. And good lord, Joe is crazy-hot. And now, I’m pouting because I have to wait for the next one!

Ms. Stanley gives us another look at Kelly and Joe. I found that out that there are times we need to listen to our inner self and step outside of that box.
Ms. Stanley picks up where she left off in her first book Good Girl left off. So for me and those that wanted more we got it. Needless to say I think every girl has daydreamed about that certain bad boy. Because deep down if we all admit it we are drawn to that bad boy.
Joe and Kelly are still real and far too easy to relate too. Ms. Stanley introduces us to some new characters that are also easy to grasp. This is another fast paced story that leaves you wanting more. I liked how she flipped POV’s from Joe to Kelly. It gave us an insight into what each was thinking making it seem far too realistic.
Once again thinking outside the box isn’t that bad and even though this is a short story it probably isn’t a good idea to read on your lunch break.

Episode 2 of this serial just leaves me wanting more! Kelly is voracious with her appetite to want experience and Joe is determined to keep her. With a decision to have a casual relationship with each one having a turn at calling the shots, will Joe be able to convince Kelly this is for the long haul? I am loving this story, with it's opposites attract theme. It's refreshing having the male be the one looking for commitment and Joe with all his tattoos and construction worker background is working hard to make it all come true. We do get to meet some secondary characters who aren't all that pleased with Kelly's choice of men, so it will be fun to continue to see if he can win her heart and who will approve! Sean Crisden is amazing as always with his narration. Could not have picked a better narrator for this serial!

This was a short, steamy read that began where the previous book left off and again ended in a cliff hanger. I loved that it was the guy who wanted a commitment in this story and not the woman however I did feel for Joe as I didn't like how Kelly was dismissing him. He really has his work cut out for him if he wants to convince Kelly they should be together. The story was HOTT and we got a glimpse into Kelly's life. I'm enjoying this steamy read as these characters have me engrossed in their life and I can't wait to see what happens next. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone looking for a short steamy read.
This audio book was narrated by Sean Crisden who was perfect for the role of Joe. His timing was great and he brought the story to life. I loved his voice and it was a pleasure listening to him narrate this novel.

Kelly is searching for more.....and she knows just where to find it. Kelly wants to explore her darker desires. She turns to Joe to help her find her way. But Joe wants more, can Kelly be his all? I really liked this switch of roles. I love when a man chases a woman. It always makes for more fun in the story. Kelly seems like she is rebelling from everything she has known and that rebellious streak adds so much to this story. I cannot wait to hear more.
Sean Crisden once again is superb at the narration. I love having a consistent narrator for a series and Sean fits that bill well. Sean has an easy to listen to voice and he really brings out everything Joe is about. I found his narration easy to follow. It enhanced the overall experience of this series.

Ok I thought his growly male voice was great, but his female voice is fantastic too! Sean Crisden just nails the voices so well I forgot it was just one narrator!
Ohhhh have you ever been unsure whether you like a character or not? Joe now has a soft spot in my heart having listened to all his thoughts in the last book. But Kelly, not so much. She just, ugh. I really want to slap her or shake her for the things she is thinking and the way she is handling things...I hope she finds her way through or I'm gonna have to find her and slap her if she hurts Joe!

I hate a cliffhanger, but this is just too good to quit.
I love that Joe is such a tough, huge bad guy but wants Kelly to be his girlfriend and she's the one who's trying to keep emotions out of the relationship.
And, of course, the narration by Sean Crisden is perfection. Dirty as hell, but spot on.

I loved how they go back and forth on thoughts of the relationship. Understand how hard it is to deal with judgmental people. The hero is determined and it just makes the story even more awesome. More steamy scenes and dirty mouth. Perfect! The narrator's voice totally makes him come to life.

Okay, so I like this series. It's a sexy romp in fantasy and opposites. However, the novella format to buy ten books (only four out now) is quickly becoming annoying. I liked getting to know Kelly and her thinking a little bit more since Irresistible Jerk is dual POV (with a hint of what's to come in book 4) rather than just Joe's POV in Good Girl (book 1). However, it also kind of makes me wonder who the Jerk is. Maybe the judginess of her christian family hits too close for home but I kind of feel like Kelly doesn't deserve Joe (as her family would think about Joe without even getting to know him). I'm interested to see how Mira Stanley will reconcile this (probably unintentional) conflict. My advice: Unless you like your books piecemealed out, wait to buy until the whole series in available in a box set.

They're good books!! Just too short!

I just can't believe that it's going the way it's going. Not sure how to even explain how and why I like this book so much. Both books have been incredibly easy reads. They've been wholesome as well as steamy. My only critique is that I feel both books could have really been combined into one book. But it's cute they were made into two.
The characters are completely easy to get attached two. I wish I had more of the other characters other than just the main two. Especially Rico. I hope I'm saying that name right. Bringing his point of view in is very intriguing.
The narrator did a great job as well. I really enjoyed it. I'll always be picky about men doing female voices. But he did a pretty decent job with it! Most male narrators kind of make women sound like ditzes. I'm sure it's not on purpose though. I think it's just how deep they sound naturally.

Hot Hot Hot!!!
Irresistible Jerk is part 2 in the Dirty Minds series and it is even hotter than the first book! This book gives us a little more insight into the characters minds, wants, and desires. It also features lots and lots of steamy times! This book also happens to end on a big cliff hanger but luckily book 3 is now on audible so I can go right into it!
The narration was yet again amazing! Sean really is a fantastic narrator with many many voices!
