In Delicious Disasters, I liked the message that even after you think your life has ended that there is always hope for a new normal. It was great to see that Tessa struggled with her new venture. She was not some kind of magical baking guru that baked one cake and became an amazing success. She failed, sometimes epically, and had to sit down and commit to learning what she could the good old-fashioned way. She developed a passion for baking and it was her passion along with her friends ...more

After a long time, Tessa finally decided to give up the bookstore that had been in her family for years. “Like with life, they say when one door closes, another one opens. For Tessa, she wasn’t only closing a chapter, but she was also closing a book, and she didn’t have the slightest idea of what to read next.” (9)

An okay read for me. A few lags here and there. I got more interested in the story about the halfway point on. Nothing wrong with the story, I just wasn’t feeling the main character, though she redeemed herself later on. A light, easy read story of a woman changing her career and rediscovering her herself.

Tessa's life changed completely. Her family's bookstore is brought out and along with feeling the loss of it, she's also feeling lost about what to do her with her life now. She decides to open a new business: a bakery but not everything as sweet at first.

Delicious Disasters is a great mix between the funny parts and the turmoil that taking a new direction in life brings in.
Although a bit slow in some parts, it manages to keep the reader interested all through out the book and I really enjoyed
