Libby is 17 years old and is unable to live the typical life of a teenager due to her chronic illness. As a result she keeps to herself and doesn’t let many people close and now she needs to adjust to living with her father rather than her mother.

Matt is her new neighbor and he is 18. He is a typical teenager but has always felt a bit like an outsider looking in. From the moment he meets Libby he wants to know everything about her and sees that she is special.

As they start to spend time together

Libby is very ill and leads a sheltered life, and when her mom has to travel for work, she goes to stay with her dad. Matt lives next door to her dad, and from the beginning they are drawn to each other. This is a good story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, and is about friendship, trusting, and love. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.

Libby’s mum has to travel for work therefore she has to go to her dad’s.
Matt is the boy who lives next door to her dad, he’s curious about her & believes they will become good friends.
As the friendship develops they have to trust in each other.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
A story told with compassion.
