Love Missy and Miles in Your Neighborhood Bastard! This story is so entertaining. It’s fun to see the life of a bartender through the characters eyes. The Neighborhood Series is awesome, and I can’t wait to read the next book.
Miles works for the Neighborhood bar and so happens to work for his half-brother Noah, but Noah does not know that Miles is his brother nor that his father had cheated on his mother and went to visit Miles all those years. Missy comes to town to hopefully reconnect with Miles but Miles is not happy to see her since she had talked trash about him when they were in college and Miles never forgot. Miles gives Missy a chance since he has always liked her but he liked this new Missy much better and Missy lets the secret out..How will Noah react?

This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. This is series is truly something else I can't get enough of these men. Miles is a sweetheart I swear he's like a big teddy bear I just want to hug lol. And missy so far she's my favorite out of girls.
Loves Mile & Missy! Your not so typical spoiled rich girl and the “not good enough boy next door” this was entertaining, sweet and everything you need for a quick read! I’ve loved this series and I love getting to see all our other neighborhood friends!
Loved Missy & Miles story. Great characters. Such an intriguing book. This was another new author for me. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
Miles Hennessy has a lot to deal with, a sick mom, a broken heart and a family secret. The last thing he needs is Missy, the heartbreaker, to waltz back into his life and spill the beans at the Neighbourhood Bar. Missy had messed up and when her world crumbled, she tries Miles again because she knows he still has a thing for her.
This is a good short, steamy contemporary romance between a bartender and his ex-friend from college. The characters are well developed and personable. The storyline is good, filled with forgiveness, surprises, understanding, hot sex scenes and romance. The characters grow emotionally and act more like grown ups. The sex scenes work well in the storyline. This romance left me feeling good and wanting to read the next book in the series. Your Neighborhood Bastard is the second book in The Neighborhood series by Tarrah Anders. It background of this story is The Neighborhood bar in Mercy. We first met Miles, or at least got to read a bit about him, in the first book in the series. j
Miles is a bartender at The Neighborhood bar and works alongside Noah, who owns the place. One night Miles has a very unexpected woman asking for him - Missy. Now Missy is a former friend from college. As it turns out Miles graduated college and instead of staying in "the city" he moved back home to take care of his mother who has MS. It also turns out that there is another reason why Miles moved home and got a job at the bar. But that is for later.
Missy is the ubiquitous beautiful, rich and completely unobtainable girl that Miles crushed on throughout college. For some reason they became really good friends that was deeper than most. But it never went to the physical side. Then one day Miles overheard Missy say something stupid to her other friends, the snotty rich type, that made him turn his back on her. He never talked with her about it but instead stopped returning her calls and walked right by her on campus.
Missy has moved to Mercy after having lost everything............Daddy did a bad bad thing and Mom does not appear to be in her life. All of her so called friends also pulled away and Missy seems to be on her own. But the one thing that she remembers is "being herself" when she was with Miles. So she moved to Mercy and would like to be friends. But we all know that being "friends" with a bartender when adding in shots can lead to other things. In this case it does but "it does not mean anything", at least for Miles. Or so this boy thinks as he is definitely waging a war inside of himself with his long buried feelings for Missy. Darn there are those pesky feelings again!!
The Neighborhood Bastard is an entertaining story that those some interesting curve balls along the way. I loved the crankiness of Miles's mother as she was a hoot. Missy was a good character who was stripped back to her bare self and is trying to figure out who she really is now. Miles is a small town boy who is a good son but holds a major secret. I enjoyed reading this short and funny story.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Miles and Missy are two could’ve-been-more, former friends. Miles has put Missy and all that reminds him of her aside to move on with his life, but he can’t ignore her or his feelings once she walks through the door of the bar he works at. Missy is trying to make amends for her former self and for the nasty, spoiled girl she portrayed to the public. After all, Miles is the only person who has ever seen the real her and is the only man she cares about or wants. Once Missy drunkenly spills the beans about something, she’s sure that Miles won’t see her as a changed person. Little does she know that Miles is relieved to have his secret out in the open...and that he’s using this opportunity to move forward with the woman he wants.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. It’s short, funny, hot, and delivers a great retreat from my own mean Monday. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the neighborhood!
When Tarrah Anders first introduced us to The Neighborhood, I couldn't wait for book two because the first installment was a lot fun. I was pleasantly surprised, though, with the bit of "grittiness" that book had and I really loved it!
Your Neighborhood Bastard was a little more serious, given the secrets that came to light between Missy and Miles and Noah. Missy and Miles had some history together and to see how they handled things made me really enjoy their characters. How they were back then vs. how there were as matured adults.
Tarrah just has the magical ability to lure you into her stories and these Neighborhood novellas are perfect for an afternoon read. She gives you just enough steam to keep you glued to the pages, in hopes that things will work our for everyone by the end. Another great read to keep me anticipating what's to come in this promising series!
Miles comes back to Mercy after college and starts working as a bartender at the Neighborhood. His mother has MS, and though she won't admit it, she needs a little help. Trouble, in the form of Missy Donahue, follows him to Mercy. She was the rich girl friend that he pined for in college. Things have changed for her - family problems, and loss of money and social status made her realize that her friends weren't real. Except she feels like Miles really is her friend. They work on their friendship and relationship, and then she inadvertently spills the bean on this big secret. This was a great read - short enough to easily read in an evening, and there was a really sweet ending. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Another Great story in the Town of Mercy by Tarrah Anders. This story has us back in Mercy. Missy comes to town to visit her friend Miles. He ditched her a few years ago when he heard her mention some not so pleasant things about him and their friendship. She was a high society girl and him a small town boy. Miles is trying to figure out her game and why she is in Mercy after this time. He has taken a job at the Neighborhood Bar working for Noah. Missy came to see Miles because her family fell from grace. She needed a friend. While Miles and and Missy work through the issues of their friendship, Missy lets out a terrible secret.
This is a great story of second chance love, friends and families. I can't wait to see who is next in this series.
Missy is a girl who had big time messed up and didn’t even know it She went to search for Miles at he only person in her left who had ever tested her with respect after her world fell completely apart He on the other hand had a sick mom and a family tree secret he’s trying to protect and didn’t need the one woman Missy who hurt him coming back into his life He never expects then list he felt for her back then to return and she is the one person who knows his secret The secret he has no idea she let slip out one night at The Neighborhood which is a local bar The town of Mercy and his life might never be the same again.

He’s working as a bartender in Mercy. He happens to be working for his half brother Noah, who doesn’t know theiy are brothers.
Miles keeps to himself and doesn’t mess around. When his life interes from college shows up, he’s in a quandary. Missy said shallow and degrading things about him to her friends.
I had a hard time liking Missy, because Miles deserved someone special. She’s shallow and it’s only when she lost everything that she re-evaluated how horrible she was.
Told from Miles’ POV. Recommend.

Your Neighborhood Bastard is the second book in The Neighborhood series and it was a very quick read that was so good. This is Miles and Missy's story there is romance, small town charm, deep emotions, betrayal and drama. Miles and Missy's attraction was strong and their chemistry generated lots of sparks. The storyline was engaging and offered a solid amount of drama, steamy scenes and change as this couples relationship evolves into more than they ever imagined. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

In the small town of Mercy things are heating up as old flames come back from the past and secrets that are spilled could ruin the present and the future. Miles is working at The Neighborhood when Missy walks through the door. Miles and Missy went to college together, were friends but totally outside of each other's social statuses. It's been a few years but the past is now the present and it's time to let the skeletons out of the closet. I really enjoyed these.stories as they are short in length but a well written complete feeling story that is told.

This is a short but entertaining read that kept my interest. This can be read as a stand-alone, but I would suggest reading the 1st book, ‘Your Neighborhood Bartender “ as the characters from the first are a big part of the second. Miles is working at The Neighborhood Bar, for a few years now. He and Noah, his boss, get along just fine. Then one drunken night, Missy spills the biggest secret of Mile’s life. What will happen to the relationship Miles and Noah have developed over the years. Will he find himself out of a job? Good read!

Who would have thought The Noah Baker would have a brother? Scandal in a small town is never a small thing, so for Miles the “Bastard Brother” coming home to share that secret is a big thing. However not as huge as his college crush, who crushed him, coming back into his life to make amends. All at once his life is turned upside down as he finds his brother and the woman he fell for years ago.
I loved Miles and Missy, you can see their connection right away and you want them to find their way to being together. Any relationship built of friendship is sure to last so these two are just meant to be! -Mackenzie
I received a complimentary copy of this short story from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is definitely a spicy read. It is also from the male's perspective. I normally enjoy a dual POV but this is refreshing to say the least.
This could have used a little more editing as sometimes there would be an "n" right in the middle of a sentence. The wrong word would also be used. I had to re-read a few sections to make sure I was understanding what the author was really intending. That being said, it didn't take too much away from the story.
I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18.
I thoroughly enjoy Tarrah books. Such an easy read. The characters just flow together very well, as well as flowing from the 1st book "Your Neighborhood Bartender" to this book. Miles goes into bar & Noah thinks he wants a job, gives him one but low & behold there is more then just a job that Miles needs to tell Noah about. Before he can do that he needs to get past another problem that walks into the bar. Her name is Missy. Things start going......Well I guess you better read it to find out.
This was a great short story following Miles and the return of Missy to his life. Two souls with a wonderful chemistry that went awry in college. Missy had a lot of life trials, and new what she'd had with Miles was real, so she sought him out. Miles, overhearing Missy trash talk him in college, wasn't so excited to see her. However, that chemistry sure got involved and we get some fab healing, family drama and great heat on the way to their HEA. Good fun!
Neighborhood Bastard 3 1/2 stars Miles has returned to his small hometown to take care of his mother. When the girl he loved in college, Missy, shows up, he remembers how she broke his heart with her words. What is the big city girl doing in his small town? Will Miles be able to forgive and forget? It's a good book I just felt like something was missing. This is a standalone but perhaps I wouldn't feel like this if I had read the first book.

This was the second in the Your Neighborhood series. While I enjoyed it, the first story was the best so far. Anders again demonstrated great writing and character development. The story maintained a rapid pace, but there were parts that I felt were superfluous while I was hoping for more development in others. Actually hoped there would have been more equity given Miles family secret. Perhaps that was just my 'make it right' morality at play. Since these are stand alone stories, I just need to get over my disappointment. After all it is fiction. I certainly recommend this series, and I would read them in order despite their stand-alone ability. Happy reading!

This is the 2nd book I have read from Tarrah Anders and still I haven’t been disappointed. Your Neighbourhood Bastard, this one is about Miles, he knew Missy way back when. She hurt him, and as a result the tries to move on with his life without her.(sort of, out of sight out of mind!) Missy, well she’s trying to apologise for being the nasty spoilt little rich girl that she portrayed. So she goes to the bar where he works to try to make amends. Will that ever happen? Will the misunderstandings be sorted out? Read the one and find out.
Miles and Missy have a history. She came from money and he is the "city boy", he thought they were friends until he hears her say otherwise so he ghosts her.
Fast forward and she winds up at his bar and things get steamy in a drunken night. Is one taste ever really enough of that one that still holds a part of your heart?
Plus we also have family secrets that surface. How does this effect them and their friends? I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
This was a sweet touching story, both main characters were very likable but it did at times feel like part of story was missing. More background information was needed, especially with the history of the main characters. Also I wish we saw more of Miles’ mom. She was a hoot but doesn’t showcase until the end

This is the 3rd book I've read written by Tarrah Anders; she has done a great job at writing a good short story; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

An amazing, captivating, interesting and oh-so-satisfying read! The writing draws you in and keeps you interested until the end.
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters and still manage to make romance feel so fresh!
