After losing her family and best friend through death, Everly must endure her own funeral from the inside of her casket. She misses her old life but she obviously doesn't miss the endless doctor appointments, her weak heart, or her inhaler.
Her new life with Traian in Romania brings her closer than ever to him yet farther apart by the end. His overwhelming fear of who might detect her power almost prevents her from learning who she needs to become. Despite Traian's overprotective tendencies, Everly follows her instincts and ends up meeting new allies and mentors who teach her more about herself, her abilities, and ancient civilizations.
This book was full of revelations, prophecies, and self discovery. I'm looking forward to seeing how much farther book 3 takes Everly in her quest.

This series just keeps getting better and better! Everly is finally becoming what she's supposed to become all the while meeting new and exciting characters.
The world descriptions are fabulous, described in a way that isn't overly pretentious, something I appreciate a lot!
Wonderful character building throughout both the first book and this one.
Can't wait to get my hands on book 3!
