Not anything what I expected. This was mostly a self reflection of the author's life and how it did and didn't relate to God. There was nothing funny about it and it wasn't very insightful but it was heartbreaking with the amount of abuse - both physical and verbal. I liked the quotes at the beginning of each chapter and the cover. I also liked how onward appeared in the text over and over again to make a point. This is the only book written by this author.

Alicia has a great way of telling stories! She's very descriptive and she enjoys bringing you on her journey. This book reminds me that the Christian walk does not look the same for everyone. Alicia challenges us to simply put one foot in front of the other and march ONWARD toward whatever God has for us!
