Enid Shomer is an award-winning American poet and fiction writer. She is author of six poetry collections and two short story collections largely set in, influenced by, and life in the State of Florida.
I pulled this from a full grocery bag of poetry books given to me by a friend who was moving. I’d never heard of Shomer before, but she became a quick favorite. Her poems covered much ground from life as a Jew, the Holocaust, her cruel, unloving father, nature. Accessible poetry with knock your socks off endings – I was reminded of Andrea Hollander.
