Former quarterback Lance Quaid just inherited the most losing team in the NFL. He’s got only a few weeks until draft day to turn things around, and after firing more than half his staff, he can’t do it alone. Thankfully, his HR manager is more than capable, if only she’d stop focusing on “due diligence” and stop looking so sexy while she’s yelling at him.

I received a copy of this title via NetGalley. It does not impact my review.

I’ve enjoyed several Cindi Madsen books and thought The Wedding Deal looked like the perfect book to feed my Contemporary craving. While I did like it, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.

I felt the book was much longer than it needed to be. I thought there was too much repetition and the story dragged a little bit. There’s only so many times I need to hear how distracted a character is by their attractive co-wo
Funny and light-hearted, ‘The Wedding Deal’ is an easy and entertaining read, even for those who don’t particularly follow sports or even like it. Who can, after all, resist a woman who gives as good as she gets when it comes to sports statistics?

Cindi Madsen’s witty portrayal of both Charlotte and Lance tickled my funny bone and I had more than a few snort-giggles at Charlotte’s by-the-book behaviour and Lance’s hilarious unfiltered thoughts and words from the start. What follows isn’t quite t

I do love a great Cindi Madsen book and this one definitely fits the bill. It has all the humor, banter, and sass I've come to expect from her as well as some amazing characters and a story that just made me smile.

Lance and Charlotte are a fun couple. He says and does whatever pops in his brain. She follows all the rules frequently making up new rules as she goes. When Lance convinces Charlotte to accompany him home for his brothers wedding she requires him to sign a wedding contract to be sure

Charlotte and Lance meet when Lance takes over his late grandfather's NFL team, immediately firing most of the team to the dismay of Charlotte. She is HR and constantly reminds him when he breaks a rule from the HR handbook (got a tad tiring I must admit).

When Charlotte accompanies Lance to his brother's wedding as his fake date, sparks fly. The book is easy to read and kind of predictable but a very nice beach read!
You can never go wrong with a Cindi Madsen book.

Charlotte James is the HR manager for the San Antonio Mustangs NFL team. Her job just got a whole lot harder when her old boss died and left the team to his grandson, former quarterback for the Tennessee Titans Lance Quaid, her peaceful existence was over. Lance can't believe how his grandfather allowed so many of his employees to slack at their jobs and he's not going to tolerate it on his watch, he starts by firing half the staff and using inflammatory language.

“I’m about to violate every section of the handbook.” -Lance

It was hard for me to connect with the
characters because of the writting style. I may be a little biased for first person point of view, but as I kept reading I was able to understand them better. I guess I just love it when I'm in their head. See things as they see them.

The story is cute and I enjoyed the pace. Definitely a slow burn. Also as a fellow Bookworm I loved all the other book references.

Lance really does enjoy teasing his girl, "she raised an eyebrow in warning. “What? You said compliments were okay. Remember how much you like my beard?” He reached up and ran his hand across it, a mischievous twist to his lips." Charlotte is just a tad bit clumsy, "Her cheeks flushed deeper as she shook her head. “it was embarrassing enough to fall asleep on you . Now I’m grabbing your crotch.” He doubted replying that he was okay with her grabbing his crotch would make her feel any better." La ...more

The Wedding Deal by Cindi Madsen a five-star read that will make you want to settle. This is the first novel in the Heart in the Game series and my first read by this author and I can’t wait for more, Lance Quaid could be a rotten character born with a silver spoon and handed a football team, but he was so well written that you really felt for him. Charlotte James was another one, she could have been a rule following ball breaker, but she is great she has real depth to her. I for one can’t wait ...more

I have mixed feelings about this book. There were definitely parts that I enjoyed. There were times that just didn’t flow. I had trouble connecting. The hero seemed like a hunk. I like how family was a big part of his story. I could usually relate to the heroine. I just felt myself not being interested in parts, like the daddy drama. I don’t know why. It was an ok read.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

I haven't had really good luck with the last two books I requested.
I tried, I did. But this book didn't work for me. The POV doesn't help to tell the story. And the plot doesn't make much sense. Charlotte is an obnoxious character not likable at all, I mean an HR manager doesn't tell the boss what to do or what not to do. Honestly, she was kind of TSTL.
Also, the amount of time the words paperwork and form show up drove me crazy, At some point, I was just counting them.

What a great book! I’ve read books by Cindi Madsen before, so I figured I was in for a treat, and I wasn’t wrong. Charlotte and Lance are so wonderful together. I absolutely loved the quick wit and bantering between the two of them, and laughed out loud a few times. Lance takes over his grandfather’s football team, The Mustangs, and Charlotte, the HR manager, is scrambling to pick up the pieces when he decides to do a complete overhaul of the organization. The Wedding Deal was the first book by Cindi Madsen that I have read, but it won't be my last. I like finding new-to-me writers and I enjoyed her writing and the story flowed well for me.

Lance Quaid just inherited the worst losing football team in the NFL from his grandfather. Now that Lance can no longer be a quarterback because of injury he's looking forward to turning the San Antonio Mustangs around. Too bad most of his staff doesn't seem to have the same attitude. When Lance ends up firing just about everyone, he makes Charlotte James' life miserable since she is the Human Resources Manager.

The Wedding Deal, by Cindi Madsen, was everything I’ve come to expect from Madsen: great characters, lots of chemistry, and good writing with plenty of sass and humour. Charlotte James is the head of HR for the football team Lance Quaid just inherited. The attraction between them is obvious, but Charlotte is a rule-follower. She is good at her job, know

When the new owner of a struggling NFL team fires most of his staff he needs to depend on his super capable HR manager to put in some extra hours even if it means accompanying him to his brother's wedding as his plus one. I love that Charlotte was a strong and successful woman who knows her job but also kills it with her fantasy football league every year. I love that Lance may be cranky but he is not stupid and is able to see the value in all of Charlotte's skill sets, He is not afraid of liste ...more

This book was the perfect amount of sassy and love. It was so good. It definitely didn’t lose sight of the fact that they lived in the real world. Charlotte was adamant about covering their butts and almost neurological about her forms.

She reacted beautifully to the outrageous-ness of Lance. I was low-key applauding her during her speeches. She stood up for what she believed in as well as didn’t let herself get bulldozed by the men in the industry. A ruthless negotiator, Charlotte made sure to e

4.5 Stars for The Wedding Deal. This is a really entertaining, funny, sweet, romantic, easy to read tale and it will certainly captivate you from the very first page.
Charlotte and Lance cross paths when he takes over his late grandfathers NFL team, she is the woman in charge of the HR department and when Lance starts firing people left right and center Charlotte has no option but to read him not only the riot act but also the HR Manual......

Oh my goodness how i freaking loved this book!! From start to finish, Charlotte was amazing. She was smart, sexy, a little vulnerable, and curvy. She was perfect. Her perfect memory and ability to verbally vomit all kinds of stats was enough to make me jealous, since I have no memory. Throw in keeping a deliciously sexy man on his toes and whipping him into shape, and she is my hero. Charlotte and Lance's story had everything you need in a great romance. They were fun, well equipped in their ver ...more

Charlotte James is the human resources manager of the San Antonio Mustangs when her previous boss had died and his grandson, former quarterback Lance Quaid inherited the team when everything changes. The Mustangs hadn’t won a game last year and were the joke of the National Football League on how bad they were playing but Lance Quaid wanted to change that but when Charlotte had to explain to him that mass firings were bad without paperwork and it would lead to lawsuits.

Well, I've read a lot of romance with fake dates at weddings but this one made sense (to me) because she was so much a part of the next few weeks for the team to rebuild. Where it took a little faith was how few others were there helping. I couldn't fathom why she took on more work with neither job having her working with assistants. It made the story cleaner (less characters) but I just couldn't imagine all that work plus wedding festivities. There had been mentioned a team lawyer and PR but th ...more

A football romance from the owner's box that is infused with laughter, wit and a whole new 1st row staff. Clearly, an HR nightmare according to Sec. ??? well, ask Charlotte bc she is the walking talking rule following HR manager. Lance, former QB, current owner, a walking talking rule breaker. Together they make their own team (there's heat) and need to come up with a winning combination for the real team.
Enjoyed the story concept with a kicka** female in sports and lighter reading that had me

When Charlotte’s boss dies and his grandson, Lance, takes his chair as the owner of the NFL Mustangs team, she gives him the riot act (as HR rep) about the way he is treating the employees. She is a stickler for the rules and he is an a$$.

I loved this fake wedding date/boss-employee/slow burn/sports story HEA! I thought it would be more predictable and same ole-same ole, but the author Cindi Madsen did a wonderful job with the storyline and had me loving it from cover to cover! This had so many

The Wedding Deal is a workplace romance with a bit of an enemies to lovers thing going. Because nothing says conflict of interest like...well, I can't say because I was forced to sign a NDA. 😉

You see, our heroine, is sassy, feisty, and the head of Human Resources. So any pertinent information I have about this book and the characters in it can not be disclosed. I can not in good conscience, or financially, tell you anything about the Mustangs, their staffing issues, or the actual Weddin

Cindi has once again delivered a book that has everything we want. It's sweet, funny, and hot with a storyline that is well developed and felt natural.

Lance and Charlotte work together and simply should not cross that line. I'll be honest, I thought I was done with the girl falls for her boss stories for a while...The Wedding Deal reminded me why I liked that trope in the first place. Lance is fun and could easily become my newest favorite book boyfriend. Charlotte is a live by the book kind of

A wonderful story that takes to people who are skeptical about love and throw them together. Charlotte is all about following the rules because it is what keeps her grounded. She doesn’t believe in love. Lance has been hurt before and has trust issues. For the love of football they will make their own rules. These rules eventually lead to things crossing the line into the personal.

The story is filled with fun and witty wisecracks from the characters. The tension between the two is often hilario

A stickler for the rules and a hothead who doesn’t even read the rule book. What could go wrong in that scenario?

Lance and Charlotte were hilarious. They couldn’t be more different when it comes to policies, protocols, and paperwork but when it really matters, these two are perfectly in sync. Their passion for the game, their team, and each other was off the charts. I loved the banter, the honesty, and the drama.

This is an awesome start to this series! I loved all the characters and can’t wait

This was a cute book, easy to pass the time but I would probably pick something else, why? well while I did love myself some Lance and thought he was funny and a sweet geeky guy, Charlotte although smart kind of annoyed me sometimes and I also found this book to be a little slower than I tend to like. We have another fake romance who we know will eventually lead to the real thing..Wished we had an epilogue probably would have given me what I felt was missing.

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier.
