Wings of Change: Stories about Dragons

Rate this book
Tales of wise, ancient dragons hoarding treasure, terrorizing villages, and doing battle with noble heroes have long fascinated us. But dragons were not born old and wise, nor were heroes born brave and noble.

Wings of Change gathers tales of young dragons growing into their scales and claws, and human youths making choices that shape their destinies – destinies that will be forever changed by their interaction with the dragons that share their world.

This is an anthology that features one of my stories, so I'm not giving it a rating - though it totally deserves 5 stars for fun adventurous stories featuring young dragons, young humans, and often both. :) I've read the whole anthology and the variety is strong. It's not often you get a volume where you see so many different styles and cultures represented. There really is something for all dragon lovers here.

Content in these stories is very mild. There is the occasionally swear and some fantasy violence. There may have been a kiss in one of the stories and I remember some inuendo/threatening language about sexuality in one. Very friendly for teens and above.

Really good book

That was a good read. One issue I've always had with collections still applied here, though... One fantastic story, one average, one great, one fantastic, so on so on.

Overall, there wasn't a stinker in the lot and even the "ok" ones were good, and the ones that were great were fantastic.

In this wonderful anthology, the dragon stories are all charming and some totally breathtaking. I was intrigued and delighted by the variety of dragon-types, dragon-human interactions, and the physical and cultural landscapes represented by this brilliant confederacy of writers. A treasure for anyone curious about just how far dragons can go!

Ok

An ok read, but too many stories not to my liking as I more into classic traditional tales about dragons and like. Keep me entertained at the airport.

I’m not a super-fan of dragons or fantasy but i recognition use quality. This is a well curated anthology with interesting cross-cultural stories. A must-read for fans of winged things.
