When Luke meets Jack, he’s pretty sure they’re going to hate each other from the beginning. Jack is a pretty-boy celebrity baker who won a contest a few years ago and is now way too invested in his best friend’s wedding cake, and Luke is the haggard, over-worked head of a catering company that he inherited from his parents after their untimely deaths. Lucas Hong is short on time, money, energy, and employees, and he’s close to selling the business and giving up on everything. He’s living in his parents’ house among their things he can’t throw away, and his only company is their obese, elderly cat. He feels utterly hopeless and depressed, and he was really not looking to deal with some hot-shot amateur baker. Jackson LeJeune has plenty of money, plenty of energy and absolutely no patience for the strangely attractive caterer who looks ready to pass out from exhaustion at any moment, at least until he finds out exactly why everything around Luke is crumbling. His friends all accuse him of being a bit of a white knight, but if he’s being honest, he needs a hero of his own. Please Note: This book contains adult language & steamy adult activities, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. Novel, approximately 30,000 words in length. HEA (happy ever after ending). Does not end with a "cliffhanger." Themes include: Baking, catering, court battles, hurt and comfort, cats, love at first sight.

* Jack, ex-military, with his hipster lumberjack looks,

brown hair and beard, is a civil engineer, but loves baking, too. He even won a TV baking competion. He's making a wedding cake for his fiesty friends, Eve and Anya, for their big day.
* We meet troubled Luke, 36, black hair, almond shaped eyes, who is lean and lanky,

when Eve, Anya and Jack taste the Caterer's food sampling. Luke lost his parents to a drunk driver, and he had to shelve his artistry to run the business, which is struggling. Jack is an incurable "helper" and pushes Luke to see what he can do to help him out. They disciuss the business issues, staff, finances, etc., and also the ongoing grief burdening Luke.

* So, slowly they have a friendship, which grows into more. Each man has issues and Jack 's stem from his Special Forces fallout leading to PTSD. Jack has dealt with therapy, and getting himself up again, and wants to help Luke, too.
* This shows a realistic look at two men who aren't perfect, but each one deserves a companion and eventually, love. When they do get to sexy times, they start low key, and become a flash bang of hotness.

They can be sweet and caring as well as rough and tough. Will Luke get justice for his folks accident that has been covered up?

It's heartwarming and bold.
ENJOY !

Not bad

There were some sad moments, but overall, it was good. Not great, but good. I felt like the ending was rushed, then again, it’s a short book. However, I find it that when that’s the case, an epilogue a bit more into the future - as in more than 2 weeks - goes a long way in making the book feel complete. I mean, did they get married ? Did they adopt kids? Whose place are they living in ? All of that could have been covered in a better epilogue. Just saying !

‘…have you done a wedding before?’

California author Jerry Cole is a gay author who has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings and on weekends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” and took up writing gay romance full time. Is publications are now in the range of 65!

More a novella, this book is short enough to read in an hour or two, a very pleasant diversion for a winter evening. Jerry understands the complexities of MM romances, especially when situations of compromise and adventure color the scene hot. A hint of how well Jerry creates his characters is evident in the opening of the novel – ‘Jackson LeJeune has no shortage of men interested in him at any given time, but they were mainly interested in sharing his tiny share of the limelight after winning a televised baking competition. They weren’t really interested in him as a person. He had brown hair, a thick brown beard, and smattering of freckles across his nose. His eyes were an unremarkable gray, and he had several large black tattoos across his shoulders. They were all schematics of airplanes. His day job was as a civil engineer, mainly working at airports. He liked his job, and he loved baking, and he was generally pretty with his life overall. There wasn’t much to complain about, outside of his dismal dating prospects…he had a bulky build that he worked hard to maintain. Baking didn’t always make that easy.’ It is refreshing to get to know Jerry’s characters easily.

The synopsis explains the romance formation – ‘When Luke meets Jack, he’s pretty sure they’re going to hate each other from the beginning. He feels utterly hopeless and depressed, and he was really not looking to deal with some hotshot amateur baker. Jackson LeJeune has plenty of money, plenty of energy and absolutely no patience for the strangely attractive caterer who looks ready to pass out from exhaustion at any moment, at least until he finds out exactly why everything around Luke is crumbling. His friends all accuse him of being a bit of a white knight, but if he’s being honest, he needs a hero of his own.’

The book may be brief but it is a solid hit. Another winner – another strong story in top form.

Love Lives Again!💖

💖"Love Lives Again"💖
2/14/19

In each of Jerry Cole's stories you can always count on certain things:

1-Relatable characters, that pull you in and share their emotions with you.
2-A background for each character that tugs on aspects relevant to many people today.
3-Characters, no matter how flawed physically or emotionally, worthy of a good life and finding love.

"Love Lives Again" is perfect in that it has perfectly flawed MCs, Luke and Jack, who find themselves drawn to each other while Luke is catering a wedding Jack is attending.

Luke is struggling through grief, over the loss of both his parents in a sudden and tragic car accident. He has been flung into taking over his parents catering business since their deaths and doing it all with a skeleton crew has left him exhausted and basically running on auto pilot. When things go from bad to worse for Luke, at a wedding event, white knight Jack steps in and offers much needed assistance and with the help of a few of Jack's friends Luke is saved from disaster. From this a true romance evolves and both Luke and Jack get to reap the bountiful benefits of a beautiful relationship. They have to endure struggles and face down demons from the past. But their love for each other keeps them strong throughout, and it is a lovely thing to see.

The only thing I wish this book had more of is chapters. I could have read about Luke and Jack for many many more pages before I was ready to put them on the shelf.

I’ve always like Jerry Cole’s writing so I was excited to see what he’d written next. His characters are always well rounded and achieve a level of depth that makes you want to keep reading and not just skip a few pages to find the plot if there is one!! Plus yowza, man can write some steamy scenes^^. We find our MCs Luke and Jack in transition. Luke wallowing in the depth of personal tragedy resulting in financial and mental anguish he can’t seem to claw his way out of no matter how hard he tries, and his character is heartbreakingly relatedable you want to scoop him up and fix him yourself because he’s such a sweet guy that needs some guidance and life to give him a break! And that’s where we find Jack, having a bit of a white knight complex because of the past he endured and the people that surrounded him and helped him out of it he sees Luke and wants to help, but more than that, he SEES Luke and he moves his heart. Of course there is the inevitable struggle but these two are so good for each other and the supporting cast are a great group of characters that blend seamlessly together, whereas some authors just have people drop out of the woodwork to solve a problem and their character is otherwise irrelevant, these characters all work in harmony. There is totally a HEA and I couldn’t be much happier unless this book was longer, but that’s just me being selfish and wanting more! And I was lucky enough to receive a free advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest & unbiased review.^^
Read it, it’s so worth it, and so are his other books, they are little bits of hot dramatic happiness lol

This is the story of Luke, whose parents were killed by a (very rich and influential) drunk driver and is struggling to keep his parents catering business afloat.
He meets Jack on one of the weddings he's catering (or struggling to cater), and Jack, a former military rushes to rescue Luke.
I have to say this one is not one of my favorite's Jerry Cole's books. The story is pretty sedated and not steamy hot like we are used to. But, what draws me to Jerry Cole's books is how real-life like they are. Regardless of all stated above, I pretty much read the book in 1 afternoon. I still give it 5 stars because, as usual, is beautifully written.

I found this book slow to start off with but the further I got the more interesting it became. It is interesting how these two characters, Luke and Jack, find each other. Luke lost his parents in a car accident and is struggling to keep their business afloat and Jack helps him through all the problems he encounters whilst catering for a wedding etc. The emotions, sadness and how all problems are solved admirable and with a deep understanding of the characters makes this book a very good read. After the slow start I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Do yourself a favour and get it. You will not go wrong.

This is a very sweet story of two men who found love and support, that they didn’t know they needed, in each other. Luke owns a catering company who has to work with Jack, a champion baker, for Jack’s friends’ wedding. Sparks fly immediately as attraction turns into affection for the both of them. Luke’s parents have recently died in a car wreck caused by a drunk driver while Jack is a vet who still carries the horrors of war with him. These two find out that they don’t have to face their grief and inner demons alone with they find each other. It’s a shorter story but it still conveys the passion and spice that is within all of Jerry’s stories. Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review.
Luke had taken over the business of his parents catering company, after their death.
The drain of everything was starting to ware down on Luke, everything was falling down around him, the bright side was the wedding that was coming up, meeting Jack the hero in waiting to Luke's lifeline. The meeting between the two is funny at first, Luke not knowing that Jack was a winner of a baking competition. The day of the wedding two of the stuff quit on Luke, throwing him in a whirl wind. Jack finds Luke having a breakdown, after helping the two are on the road for HEA.

Luke lost his parents and he is sinking fast trying to keep his parent's catering business afloat. Jack is a man who has been through a lot, but now is doing ok, but feels responsible for those around him insuring that they are doing ok.. Learning about Luke's troubles, he takes on the burdens onto himself. a story that has a lot of sadness, unresolved grief, PTSD, corrupt prosecutors, and failing business, to balance out the sadness we have two men who fall in love and hot sex, a fat cat and A great HEA. Good story and well worth reading. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

A story of two men who are drawn together despite first impressions. Luke is struggling after losing his parents, while Jack is rich and a celebrity cake baker. Gradually their differences make the men become close, which I enjoyed to read.

This is a romantic story following the two men as they fall in love. The other characters bring the book to life with their personalities.

I highly recommend this book, a gentle story of love.

A very clever author this Jerry Cole is. Whether it is a short read or a longer one you are drawn up not the last version of two people searching and hiding from like ve. But that meeting be it instant 'dislike' or attraction they eventually comes around to seeing how by opening up to each other, they can breath and live again. Read this book and take this journey with Jackson and Luke, well worth it.

This reads like the pitch for a book sent in to a publishing company.
The idea sounds great and as an editor I would definitely encourage the author to write it.
However, unfortunately instead of writing the story, it seems the "extended blurb" was published.
It has a ton of potential and never used it.
So, I am sad to say, but like this, it's only a very average read.
3 stars maximum.
