Frozen Dragons #3

Prince of Ice

Rate this book

Luka, the last unmated ice dragon, knows exactly how to win over the sassy, sweet scientist he fell for at first sight. He's going to take it slow, let her warm up, and show her how hot an ice dragon's kiss can be. All while hiding his identity. But when someone breaks into Iris's lab, Luka's careful plans are ruined, and it'll take all his strength just to keep the dragon in him from unleashing on whoever is threatening his mate!

Iris Jensen has worked hard to become a renowned scientist in her field. Now that she's about to get tenure, and the financial security she's always longed for, nothing can distract her. Except maybe a man with beautiful, icy eyes that seem to stare into her soul and hands that are just perfect for holding her. But with someone threatening everything she's worked for, she can't let herself fall into Luka's arms just yet...

Even though Luka wants to take things slow with his mate, the dragon in him knows he has to hurry if he wants to protect her from outside forces. Because Iris may be close to losing everything, and in the modern world there are some things even ice dragons have to fear...

This book contains scenes of intense action adventure, mystery, dragon hijinks, and steamy, romantic scenes.

PRINCE OF ICE is the concluding story in Terry Bolryder’s Frozen Dragons series. Yet, to be fair, I never actually say good-bye mentally to any of her dragons for they often show up in the most unusual and unexpected places. *wink*

For a dragon who is both addicted and in love with knowledge of any kind reawakening in this modern world with computers, books and unlimited access to knowledge is – well, perhaps worth the long sleep he went through. Luka is the bookworm, the nerd, the seeker of information of the unfrozen dragons and, for the most part, he is happiest on the computer researching just about anything. And now that his friends have found their mates and are occupied, well that computer is an even greater distraction. He’s formed a friendship of sorts with the mates’ friend, Iris. That she is also his mate is a bonus but with her logical mind focused on gaining tenure well, he’s content to go about his courting a bit slower than his friends did. But that may not be possible when Iris is in danger, her lab broken into and some very nasty bad guys crawl out of their hiding place to threaten what Luka holds as the most precious thing in the world to him – his mate. Iris is going to get a far different education when she is faced with dragons, and accepting what cannot logically exist isn’t going to be easy. Yet her trust in Luka will get her through a lot, hopefully, a lifetime together.

One of the things I love about Terry Bolryder’s writing, her worlds, and her imagination is that the characters we loved in the past don’t always (thankfully) stay in the past. Often her stories are sprinkled with old familiar faces and that is a huge draw for me. I hate to let beloved characters fade away. So don’t be surprised to run into some friends once again – and, maybe, get a hint of what is to come in the next series.

PRINCE OF ICE is full of engaging characters, old friends, danger, action-packed moments and sizzling chemistry. Iris and Luka make an adorable couple and they fit so well together. It’s a bit bittersweet to let the Frozen Dragons go, yet I’m hoping to run into them again one day and look forward to what is to come next. If you love a good Shifter Romance story that will keep you engaged throughout then pick up this series.

*WARNING* contains adult situations
Iris is a scientist. Iris is working hard on a project to get her tenure so she knows her future is secure. Iris is becoming pretty good friends with Luka, but she can't have any distractions.
Luka is happy for his friends finding their mates, but he is getting a bit lonely. It helps to pass the time to talk with Iris on the computer though. When Iris sends Luka a message asking for help, he goes immediately.
We met Iris in the very first Frozen dragons book and then didn't really hear much about her, so I was kind of surprised she was the mate of Luka. Luka has been my favorite of the three, he is the strong, smart, silent one. I like that Luka gives Iris the space she needs. I've liked the ice powers from all the dragons. I like that the Iris character is so resistant, because what scientist would believe something like that without physical or visual proof? Another wonderful book by Bolryder.

Entertaining Dragon Shifter Romance

The story is fairly simple and straightforward sexy shifter romance. Two like-minded souls meet and find love together and always have each other's back. There is the love story and also some short action scenes. There are some fascinating mentions of shifter science which I'd love to read more about. There are also references to other shifter series by the author as well as a scene with a double dragon pair.

Prince of Ice

T. Bolryder does it again. Sad, but true, the ending of another series. I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next. Whatever it will be, you can believe that it will be interesting, adventurous and filled with all kinds of good things.

Prince of Ice is the third and final book in Terry Bolryder’s Frozen Dragons series.

Luka, ice dragon and royal advisor, and Iris, outgoing scientist and researcher, briefly made several appearances throughout book one and two of this series. It wasn’t until this book that their relationship blossoms as Luka comes to Iris’ aid after a break in at her lab. The attraction between the two is instant and intense, but Luka plans to take things slow so as not to stress Iris out as she prepares her research for tenure. But danger surrounds them and Iris must decide what’s more important, helping Luka or achieving tenure. What will she decide? Or will the decision be made for her by the forces that surround them? Read it to find out!

This is a shifter romance with a little bit of mystery, some suspense and a happily ever after. It is a great final book for the series and continues the overall series storyline of the ice dragons acclimatizing to a modern world in which shifters are a secret. I love both characters, especially because they are logical geeks that tend to thinking things out, maybe a little too much at times. Together they learn about taking risks and trusting others to help them when needed.

This was another great book, in another great dragon shifter series by Terry Bolryder. She does a great job linking characters and storylines from her previous series’. She also does a fantastic job dropping hints to new characters and series. I was very intrigued by the Crimson Club that Luka visited in this book, and I am hoping that her next book will introduce us to Lock, Max and Benny in more detail.

This is a good ending to the Frozen Dragons series, and an OK romance. It gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded up to 4 stars. Of the 3 books in this series, this was my favorite, because I liked Luka the best of the 3 guys.

Luka and Iris were mostly likable, but there were times when I wanted to knock some sense into both of them. Iris was just sure that nothing was as important as her career, even her relationship to Luka. She didn't see how wrong she was until after she hurt Luka. But Luka was a bit too sensitive about that, and about thinking she should feel just as strongly for him as he did for her. He should have known better, because he knew that she didn't know about dragons or bonded mates. He should have been willing to let their relationship progress slower, since that was what she was comfortable with. I also felt that they were more in lust than in love.

***** Minor spoiler follows *****

I did like that they got more involved with some the dragons from Terry's other dragon shifter series in this book. I had hoped they would also meet the oracle, but maybe that will come in another series later.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Loved this final book in the series. I was pretty sure Iris was going to be the next one romanced by an ice dragon. As a friend of Talia's and Chelle's she has been there for her friends when she was needed, and willing to stifle her own curiosity when she discovered Alek's blood was, well, unusual. She has been IM'ing with Luka and likes that he pursues knowledge in the same way she does. Unfortunately, she is up for tenure and has little time to pursue a relationship with a man.

Iris comes back to her lab late at night and finds an intruder rifling through her samples, and she logs on to her computer and tells Luka about her close call. He immediately shows up to check on her and decides that he needs to stick close and ensure her safety. But who will keep her heart safe from him? When she discovers that a blood sample of Alek's is the only thing missing from her lab, she is surprised when he declares later that they have to figure out who stole the sample.

Luka is crazy about Iris. He is where she is his mate, but since she doesn't know he is a dragon shifter and she is working so hard to secure her future he understands that he must take it slowly and let her do what she needs to do for her career. However, when he tells the Sapphire dragon about the theft of the blood sample, things get serious in a hurry. If Luka can't figure out who took the sample, other interested parties are going to step in and Iris would be really distracted if that happened. Not to mention the whole memory wipe thing.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Lucas watched his friends and their mates with mixed feelings. He was glad they'd found their happiness yet figured he never would and was a little jealous. That is until he and Iris both decided the "love" was getting a little thick with their roomies. They'd share an apartment and give the others and themselves some privacy.

Friendship was the most she expected until more time with Luca brought steamy feelings. He told her he wanted friends but was feeling some of those same things. Friends with benefits was the plan until it wasn't enough. Iris was afraid getting in deeper would keep her from her quest for tenure. Luca discovered Iris was more but wanted the best for her and decided to be patient before letting her know.

All was going well until it wasn't. Danger, frightening discoveries, and a whole hierarchy the dragons knew nothing about. Will Luca even have a chance to tell Iris and have a chance for his dreams to come true? Or will the Powers That Be take her from him?

I always love visiting old book friends and we get to see some of the other dragons who want to help or control. These three dragons have their lives set. Can't wait to see how they fit into the new world the author hinted about.

Wow! Great ending to this series!

I love how Terry Bolryder ties all her Dragon stories together. This is like the 9th series in this world, although they always say you don't have to read the first 2 sets Double Dragons and Tiger Protectors. However, they do show up at the end of this story!

If you like dragons shifters, steamy scenes, a fast pace, an intense tone, and a storyline that is both action and character oriented with vibrant characters, then this world is for you! You don't have to read Double Dragons and Tiger Protectors (both box sets), but to me they are the natural starting point. You just have to be ok with manage type scenes. The rest of the series in order are; Awakened Dragons (box set), Rent-a-Dragon (box set), Date-a-Dragon (box set), Awakened Sea Dragons (box set)Dragon Guard of Drakkaris, Nightmare Dragons and finally this one. But then you will be stuck like the rest of us waiting for the next book to come out! But this world is well worth the wait! Enjoy!

A good read

This the finale of the Frozen Dragons series is Luka the serious thinker and planner of the trio and Iris the logical scientists story. These two are immediately drawn to each other as they are both focused individuals they soon end up loving each other even though Iris resists. Problems blight them when a blood sample containing Aleks blood is stolen from her lab. This does bring in the introduction of more dragons and other shifters which has really been missing from this series and there has been no contact with the Oracle. Iris has trouble believing he is a Dragon until he is forced to reveal himself whilst saving her from a group of criminal wolf shifters and the mystery of the stolen blood is revealed. Of course they end up mating and having their happy ever after. This series although being an enjoyable read hasn't quite had the same dynamics as some of the other Dragon series and is a little tame in comparison.

Once again Terry has given us a book that not only is s great romance but has enough suspense and dram to keep us tuning the page This is Luka and Iris's story

He is the last of the ice dragons to find his mate but then Luka doesn't think he will have a mate he is quite happy catching up with his research he is the studious dragon. Then he meets Iris they are alike in so many ways and his dragon yells mate. When Iris's lab is broken into she thinks nothing is stolen until later she realises what is gone Now it will be up to Luka with the help of new friends to keep her safe It was great to see past dragons and the oracle yet again.

Looking forward to the next interlocking series from this very talented author

Prince of Ice ❄️

Luka is the last of the dragons to find his mate in Iris. When she arrives late one night to continue her work and discovers someone leaving from having broken in, she tells Luka and he steps in to help. Luka realises she is his mate and they start to spend more time together. However, Iris finally realises that something is missing from the break in and it leads to a string of events nobody could have seen coming.....unless you’re the Oracle!

Loved this final story in the Frozen Dragon series and I look forward to what Terry has in store for us next😍 Thank you to Terry for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review❣️

The Nerd and the Scientist

Luka, the nerdy ice dragon shifter, has found his true mate. Iris, a science professor, only believes in logic and physical truths. Both characters are great. The dichotomy of a bookworm, physically impressive dragon shifter is fun. When Iris's lab is disturbed, Luka jumps into protective mode, while trying to win over his mate. In tracking down the reasons for the lab break in. Luka and Iris are pulled into the existing shifter world. This book parallels the other series by Terry Bolryder and this story is great in bringing those other dragons into this tale. Excellent broadening of the shifter world.

Iris and Luka

Prince of ice is the third and last book of the Frozen Dragons. Iris is a scientist deep in work, hoping for that elusive tenure and the last thing she needs is a gorgeous man like Luka distracting her from her life long goal. Luka is a ice dragon awakened in modern times and is trying to navigate the modern world and the last thing he expects is to come face to face with his fated mate, Iris. This was a ok read for me. It seams to be the same formula to the previous series. I need more intensity, more raw emotions, ( specially from the girls), more danger. This book was better than the previous one though.

What a great final for this trio of ice dragons. Luka is a wonderful, loyal, protective dragon who has found his mate in Iris, a scientist and colleague of Talia. Of course knowing that He found his mate and making her his are two totally different pair of shoes, Luka is trying to be patient and understanding that Iris has things like work that important to her and he doesn't want to interfere with something that is so important to her. A break-in at her Lab changes everything when they realize what has been stolen. Fun read like all of Terry Bolryder's dragons.

I love these paranormal dragon stories and this is one of my favorites. Luka is the last of the frozen dragons and has finally found his mate. Iris is an intelligent, gifted scientist finally about to achieve her dreams securing her future. Luka has found his mate in Iris and is set in his plans to woe and take it slow with her. Something is threatening her and Luka is not happy about this. This was an interesting action adventure full of steamy scenes and mystery. I enjoyed the story, love it.

Iris has always believed everything could be explained away. Luka has always been the problem solver. He is something her science says doesn't exist. Will Iris believe him when he tells her what he is? Will Luka be able to keep her safe while winning her over?

I loved how both these characters were similar intellects. I liked how Luka was determined to do what he could to protect her, while also giving her the time to build a relationship with him. I didn't blame Iris for being skeptical because science said he should exist, but I loved how regardless what was happening she was protective and determined to help. Good read!

Dragons to the rescue a little late

Enjoyable series. Luka and Iris meet because they both love using their minds. It's ok to be smart. This story has a bit of mystery, newly found love and support for each other until it becomes too much for Iris. I hate wyverns and yet they came back in this book for a bit. Loved having some of the other dragons appear in the story. It's always nice to see how they are doing. A good story fit for Luka considering the type of character he was. Bowling was a fun adventure. Definitely a good enjoyable book to read. Good series.

Ice Dragons - so thrilling!
I have such a fondness for dragon books. This one is excellent! Iris is a highly intelligent scientist, relying on logical thought, research and experiments to help her make sense of the world around her. She’s put to the test when Luka lets her in on a secret after ‘loose-lips’ and theft of a sample create huge problems. It’s an exciting story and a very satisfying romance. Don’t miss this conclusion to the Frozen Dragons series. I love it!

I have read and own every one of Ms. Bolryder's books on my Kindle App. I get her updates letting me know when a new book is released and get it immediately. I am a forever fan of her works and often reread her books.

The Prince of Ice is the 3rd and final book in this series. It is also my favorite. The relationship and angst between Luka and Iris is great. You can clearly see that they are meant to be mates.

I can not wait for her next series.

Love this series

Terry has grown so much as a writer. The storyline is great, the characters were well developed. I also loved the addition of old favourites from other series, especially Lock. Love that shifter. I have a whole story in my head about the woman who bring Lock to heal. I can't wait until Terry writes a series about the characters in the Club. Keep up the good work Terry. But you need a better Editor.

Prince of Ice

Iris is trying to get her tenure done when she meets Loka. She is smitten with him but is more into getting her tenure and not winding up like she was when she was younger. Loka loves Iris and knows she is his mate. Can Iris a great scientist believe that Loka and his friends are Dragons. Or will she put her tenure ahead of Loka? Great read. Couldn't put down till I was finished.

Didn’t Fall In Love

I have read every single one of the dragon awaken series, that’s over 15 books at this point. It’s typically a yummy, don’t think about it read and a favorite guilty pleasure of mine. However there was something that didn’t captivate me with Luka and Iris. Just a heads up to my fellow readers still enjoyed it.

Good series

Was a enjoyable series to read. Really like that the double dragons made a brief appearance. I like it when the dragons from earlier books makes a connection with the new comers. Would be nice to have the new and old fight together sometimes. Thank you Terry for the stories you write, love those dragons.

Icy hot

Could Bolryder give us a better story? Two nerds finding love, and yes, one is a a super hot dragon. Iris needs to learn to live a little, while Luka is figuring out this new world. This story offers mystery, humor, love and action. I love how multiple books have all come together.

I recommend reading this series.

I love how the characters from the other series are brought in. It makes it like the others weren't forgotten and are a part of everything. Also makes me want to go back and re-read a few those oh ya, I remember the moment when Oracle busted them, how Aegis always wears green, I missed Ruby and Amythist but hey can re-read their stories.

Finding danger and a mate maybe....

The last unmated Frozen Dragon may have found his mate, if he can convince her to believe what he is and protect her from the danger Iris is in. Iris is scientist who does not believe in magic or mythical creatures.

Great series, looking forward to reading other interacting books about this group of dragons.
