The story was fun, especially in the movie. I know that it is not appropriate for younger students, but it can be readable for older students because of some materials and scene settings. I had mixed emotions when the protagonist, Alan Parish (Robin Williams), was finally out of the game after 26 years of being trapped inside it. To find out that he is not a kid anymore and all his loved ones are gone, besides her childhood friend Sarah Wittle. What if this kind of fantasy will happen in real life?

My students loved this and it brought back such good memories for myself as I have always adored the movie. Faithfully taken from the movie and script it led to some very interesting questions in the classroom as we were reading it and best of all opened up young minds to big imaginations.

This is an amazing tale that I think children would enjoy reading. This book would definitely be something to read to an older audience of students because of some of the material. I think that this book could be used to read as a class and have the children watch the movie and compare and contrast the movie.
