Full Review on my blog!

Hunt of the Gods is the second book in this series, and wow I am loving this series so far! I definitely liked this one way better than the first.

Hunt of the Gods takes place two months after book one. War-scion Derek Areios and the rogue scions continue their quest to find the Trinity Weapons and the Shards of Cronus.  A LOT happens in this one,  I don't want to give any spoilers, but if you do pick up this series you won't be disappointed.  It was fast paced, action pac

Two months ago, they recovered the Thunderbolt of Zeus and the Heart of the Devourer. During the battle Derek made a discovery about himself that makes him the only scion alive to wield two types of elemental magic. Now Derek and the band of rogue scions that he’s aligned with has been commanded to retrieve the Trinity Weapons and the Shards of Cronus. But they have work with a gang of water scions as well and the mission leads them down a path of brutal betrayals, hard truths, painful memories ...more

HUNT OF THE GODS by Amy Braun takes place two months after book one. War-scion Derek Areios and the rogue scions continue their quest to find the Trinity Weapons and the Shards of Cronus. This urban fantasy is suitable for adult readers.

Amy Braun did an amazing job developing the characters, especially Derek, Selena, and Thea. I appreciated that they grew and discovered details about themselves. The plot was clever and full of twists. The Union of the Seas Festival was creative. The politics amo

I had some concerns going into this one. I hadn’t read the first book, so I worried I’d be lost. I was also a Classics major in undergrad* and like many of my classmates, I sometimes find myself getting a little pedantic about mythology. It’s an instinct, I can’t help it. None of us can.

While the beginning of the book had a little bit of info-dumping, I got past it pretty quickly and found my concerns allayed. The early info-dumping was grating but it helped me to understand what was going on i

The action and adventure never stops in Hunt of the Gods, the second book of the Areios Brothers series by Amy Braun. Following the extreme events that now seem like a cake walk, Derek and his friends have been charged with finding not only the lost weapons of the Gods but also the Shards of Cronus before anyone else does and tries to bring the Titan back to wreak havoc. Just one more huge weight added on to Derek's shoulders, poor guy can't catch a break at all. Besides making sure he doesn't k ...more

This is the second book in this series, and I really liked this second book better than I did the first. Not that the first was bad; it wasn’t. However, this book is more centered around the story and the action. And, yes, there is lots of action. Derek is still dealing with his powers and the task he and his friends are on. When there is a lead on one of the artifacts they must retrieve, he and his friends risk their lives to get it. This book was full of revelations, action, and a little bit o ...more

Derek and his little band of scions are commanded by Zeus to bring him the Trinity Weapons and the Shards of Cronus. It is believed that that one of shards the Eye of Cronus is located on the Santa Rosa Island. Selena believes that she can find the shard with her visions once they reach the island. Easy-peasy right, Derek is like no way will it be easy as the gods do like a good fight.

Everyone soon learns that Derek is right in assuming that their task was not going to be easy when they are on

I liked it. This is the second book in the Areios Brothers series. I did not read the first book but I think this one does well enough as a stand alone. I like the premise of the story that the gods have children that act as scions to do their bidding on earth. Derek is the heir and scion of Ares. He is working with others to retrieve the Trinity weapons and the eye of Cronus. Derek is developing new powers while on this dangerous quest and is the only scion that can use two types of elemental m ...more

Ninety-nine percent of the time a story with Greek Gods in it is a winner for me.....Hunt of the Gods is well and truly in that ninety-nine percent.

It's full of action, secrets, hope and fear. You'll be kept on your toes throughout, reading about seemingly insurmountable problems.......

This is a real page turner that's ideal for young adults......or anyone that's interested in stories with Greek Gods, passion, intrigue and a little sadness.

I love the interplay between the characters and the bon

I read the first book and really enjoyed it. And to summarize, I love books that really nail the retelling thing down whether it’s mythology, folklore, or fairy tales. It’s just fun.

So I wasn’t surprised that this book would be a fun ride. In fact, most of what I wanted to see in the first book ended up in this book. I love how Braun reimagines the Greek gods in modern times—what they would look like or sound like if they came back and demanded our complete devotion. We get to meet more characte

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Even better then book one! The brothers know they are in some trouble now yet when the Gods demand they retrieve the rest of the Trinity weapons as well as work with a group they can't trust they have no choice but to agree. This leads to a fascinating suspenseful adventure as Derek tries to keep his secret while still saving the day. Full of Gods, magic, suspense, and action. I really liked it so I give
