White witch Jade Calhoun is seven months pregnant. All she wants to do is sink into domestic bliss while enjoying planning wedding and baby showers. But when a new acquaintance is arrested by the Witches Council and then mysteriously disappears, Jade is pulled into the thick of things. Forced by the Witches Council to track down the missing woman, Jade finds herself once again dealing with dragons.
It should be a piece of cake, right? All she needs to do is track down the woman who escaped the Council, stop the dragons from awakening and taking over the city, and still find time to celebrate life’s milestones… all while in her third trimester.

This book is so much fun! Jade is getting ready to pop with her baby, but that doesn’t stop her from getting involved with another mystery. The Council just won’t seem to leave her alone, but Jade and Pyper want to do what’s best. I love all the characters in these series, and we get introduced to Flame, Trevor, Liam, and Harper, plus a couple more, who are wonderful additions to the cast and crew. From the beginning to the end, I was taken away with the action and fun, and we also get to see the preparations for Kat’s festivities. I can’t wait to see Pyper’s book to see them all again. If you love fun paranormal mysteries/romance, give this a try! I highly recommend this book! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.
This is such a great addition to this series, it does not disappoint. The author has crafted an entertaining story with plenty of action, humor, mystery, and a bit of suspense. This had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation and suspense. I do suggest reading this series in order for best enjoyment each installment builds on the next - it's worth it.
Dragons of Bourbon Street by Deanna Chase takes us back to New Orleans, Louisiana. Jade Calhoun is seven months pregnant, and she is ready to take it easy the last few months of her pregnancy especially since it is extremely hot outside. Jade and Pyper Rayne are shopping for party favors for Kat’s upcoming bachelorette party at Hollywood Hustler when Madame Tempest, leader of the Witches Council, along with two flunkies, enter the shop. They arrest Harper Spelling and quickly take her away. A little puppy darts out and roars fire. Jade quickly scoops him up and takes him home with her. That evening, Pyper and Jade are pulled over and taken in by two thugs from the Witches Council. It seems that Harper disappeared from her cell. The Witches Council had confiscated a notebook from Harper with Jade’s name in it with the label “dragon leader”. Madame Tempest is forcing Jade and Pyper to track down Harper and return her to the Witches Council. They then learn that dragons are waking up all over the city and Jade needs to stop them from taking control. Jade has the additional responsibility of helping Kat with her wedding and its related responsibilities plus figuring out where the fire breathing puppy came from and keep him (Flame) from burning down her home. And Jade thought she would spend her third trimester relaxing (aka napping), cuddling with her husband and eating all the food that she craves. It is a good thing that Jade has close friends that will assist her.
Dragons of Bourbon Street is the ninth entertaining installment in A Jade Calhoun series. All our regular cast of characters are back plus we get introduced to Flame, Elijah and his familiar Trevor, and Harper Spelling and her cousins. Even Ida May makes an appearance. The Witches Council seems determined to mess with Jade even though she is seven months pregnant. Of course, they fail to understand the needs of someone in her condition which includes access to a bathroom and plenty of food (crackers do not count). Deanna Chase has a distinctive writing style (I mean this in a good way). Her casual writing style drew me into the story along with her quirky characters and laugh-out-loud moments. The mystery is full of twists with illusions, a Cajun familiar breeder, and someone deadly (and mentally challenged) running the show. Jade has a great group of friends with unique abilities that she can count on to help her with challenging situations. The take down is one-of-a-kind and jaw dropping. At the end, Jade and Kane’s daughter makes an appearance and Kat has a very special wedding day. I suggest reading A Jade Calhoun series in order. The books build upon each other as the character defeat foes, form bonds and develop as individuals. It is even advisable to have read A Pyper Raine series (they work together). I do want to let you know that there is foul language and intimate scenes. One of my favorite lines is from Jade “my insides felt like they were being ripped right out of me.” I felt that was a very accurate description of labor. Dragons of Bourbon Street is a delightful paranormal mystery/romance with dragons, an evil adversary, a tenacious Witches Council, a ghost dog, good friends, a wedding, plus a cuddly fire breathing puppy and other interesting familiars. You do not want to miss out on this fast paced, action packed and humorous tale.
I have followed Jade’s story from the beginning. Now Jade and Kane are expecting a baby girl. The sex was determined by a lady who sells flower , Miss Maybelle . Now for a mystery full of action, twists, illusions and some really interesting familiars. Jade and Pyper have been coerced into finding a missing person who disappeared while in the custody of the witches’ council. I must say that I enjoyed the entire book but found Peanut/Flame very interesting and Trevor just added punch! You will meet Elijah who is raising special familiars such as Peanut for the dragons who seem to be awaking. Now the bad guy/ witch Zeph is really evil as it takes several people and a surprise to take him down! Such an interesting book right up until Kat’s wedding and the birth of Jade’s and Kane’s daughter! If you follow the story lines according to this book we can expect more interesting things to happen because Pyper is getting married soon. I love all of Jade’s stories and Pyper’s as well and highly recommend both series to you as they are excellent!
Dragons of Bourbon Street is the continuing story of love, friendship, family, magic, betrayal, redemption all rolled together in the Crescent City. This latest installment brings more dragon problems to the group as well as an evil witch who just won't take no for an answer and really enjoys creating illusions. It's a story that sucks you in and leaves you wanting for more.
Never disappointed I loved this book. I am looking forward to seeing how life has changed with the baby here finally. I I'm interested also in seeing how the Dragon Powers play out. Also, not to forget the counselor in their mean ways. I was thrilled about the new twist the story had. Can't wait for the Nextbook scn how Juliet changes everyone's lives and what powers she's going to hold.
Deanna Chase revisits Jade Calhoun and her world in her newest book, Dragons of Bourbon Street. Jade is just trying to take it easy, enjoy helping Kat and Pyper plan their weddings, and get ready for the arrival of her baby girl. Of course, Jade should know better than to expect the universe to cooperate with her plans. As she and Pyper are shopping for Kat’s bachelorette party, they meet Harper who seems to know a great deal about Jade and implies that she needs her help. But before Harper can explain anything to Jade, agents from the Witches’ Council swoop in and take Harper into custody. Harper leaves behind her very odd pet—a dog that appears to breathe fire. Jade can’t help trying to help Harper and soon finds herself in the Council’s custody as well, where she finds that Harper escaped custody. Even worse, the Council forces Jade and Pyper to work for them to find Harper or face charges of their own. As Jade and Pyper investigate, they learn that Harper’s family has dragon blood and that several of her cousins have recently gone missing. Jade soon finds herself in tremendous danger as she tries to save Harper’s family and protect her own growing family.
I enjoyed this book for a number of reasons. The main plot line involving Harper puts Jade in grave danger and offers a number of nail-biting scenes that are sure to enthrall readers. Ms. Chase does a masterful job depicting the final showdown between Jade and the villain in this book. I love an author that can make me feel like I’m really in the middle of the action. But that has always been one of Ms. Chase’s skills— the ability to put her readers in her characters’ shoes and make readers sympathize and identify with the characters. Whether it was Harper’s cousins’ desperation after her disappearance or Jade’s distrust of the Council, I could imagine exactly how each character was feeling,
Another reason this book is so enjoyable is because Ms. Chase creates characters who have deep connections. Throughout this book (and the whole series), she shows how friendships can make people family. Much like Pyper and Kane, Jade and Kat’s relationship is so much more than a simple friendship. Kat and Lucien finally get married in this book, and the gift that Jade gives Kat demonstrates how close these two women are, how much Jade loves and understands Kat. I enjoyed those moments between Jade and Kat where we’re reminded that, before any of the other characters entered their lives, these two women had been each other’s family. The personal relationships in this series have been so important to my enjoyment of this series. I feel like I know these characters on such a deep level because Ms. Chase has let us see them as more than just one-dimensional.
I highly recommend Dragons of Bourbon Street, the newest Jade Calhoun book by Deanna Chase
Jade Calhoun is seven months pregnant, but that won’t even slow her down. Jade and Pyper were buying items for Kat’s bachelorette party and wedding shower when two guys, high on something, got a bit frisky due to their pregnancy fetish. Not respecting Jade’s warning, the one guy grabbed her butt and tried to touch her belly. She zapped him with magic that would keep him out of commission for a week! Then he and his friend grudgingly left the store before the security guard came down.
The sales clerk, Harper Spelling, was delighted to meet Jade and Pyper. Harper mentioned being at Coven Pointe where Jade brought down a dragon and saved the city while rescuing the actor Conor Wells. It was the incident where Conor had been possessed by a dragon’s soul and had turned into a full-fledged flying dragon! Harper wanted to get together with Jade and talk about something brewing in New Orleans but, before she could say more, the phone rang. When Jade and Pyper were paying for their items, Jade asked her what she had wanted to talk about – but 3 witches she recognized from the Witches’ Council burst through the door and magically bound Harper’s wrists and sealed her lips closed! The Council leader snarled at Jade about not having sense to stay away from dragon business after the events of the past summer! A little chocolate-colored puppy ran to the door as the Council left, barked, and roared out a flame of fire!
Once again, Jade’s life heads into chaos as Harper escapes from custody and Jade and Pyper have to recapture her… or else! This is only one of the many disasters she will face as everybody reaches out to Jade for help. Grab your copy and catch up on all of the activity in this fast-paced, hilarious, wild adventure. The surprises along the way will be good, bad, or amazing so don’t blink! This is another wonderful, well-written story that will draw the reader in, with characters who come alive on the pages and will become your dearest friends. Don’t miss this one!
The joys of being a witch--The council (not so much)--evil beings wanting you for evil things--(not so much)--sexy guys out to keep the magical world safe from those evil beings, oh, yeah, and besties with or without powers who always have your back.
Jade's seven months pregnant. You'd think that would keep her escapades minimal. Nope. The council wants her to help them with some serious bad guy issues. Some college girls are in serious trouble. And...well, you have to read about this one--no spoilers. Not to mention a bestie is getting married and she and her other bestie are planning the pre-parties and wedding.
She's a witch, she can handle it. Right?
What a good read with action, a sexy husband with unquenchable desires for his wife (Jade), magic friends and townspeople and some pretty strong evil ones. Never a quiet moment. While it is ninth in the series, I have just found it and while I plan to go back and read the others, I had no problem enjoying this one as my first read. I will warn you that you probably won't be able to resist reading more.
My year just hit new book happiness high, Jade Calhoun is back for another exciting New Orleans supernatural adventure.
Jade, Kane, Pyper, Bea, Lucien, and Kat are back for more fun, laughs, magic and trouble in New Orleans. Jade is 7 months pregnant and more than ready to meet her daughter, she is also a little bored and grumpy...lol Kat and Pyper are planning their weddings and something is amiss when Jade and Pyper visit an adult specialty store to make fun purchases for Kat's bachelorette party, the witches council take a young woman in for questioning, leaving her little dog alone, Jade and Pyper step in the help and yes you guessed it they both end up being taken in by the witches council as well...lol trouble just has a way of finding and sticking to Jade.
Now Jade and Pyper need to find out what is happening, young women are going missing, how does the dog tie in and all while making sure Jade doesn't go into premature labor!!! Fun I tell you...lol a very fun adventure.
This is a great book; this is book 9 in the Jade Calhoun series written by Deanna Chase. This is one of my favorite series. This is a great book with well-developed characters. Once I started reading this book I didn’t want to put the book down until the end. I can’t wait to read then next book by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
I have read this whole series and I find it amazing that each book just keeps getting better and better! Jade is 7 months pregnant and we find that Crescent City is in the middle of another mystery! Jade has to be in the middle of this mystery and of course there is an evil witch that likes to use illusions on people....but he has a ulterior motive. Dragons! Yes I said dragons. Jade while trying to solve this mystery also is trying to plan Kat's wedding shower and bachelorette party.... Pyper and Jade are right in the thick of the mystery...will they solve this one? Release date is April 16th...trust me on this and pick up the whole series if you haven't yet... Highly recommend all of Deanna's books
Just finished reading Bk10, Dragons of Bourbon St.
Jade & Pyper are at the sex shop picking up last minute treats for Kats Hen do when they speak with Harper the shop assistant who theyd met in the last book. The witches council barges in & arrests Harper for something to do with Dragons. Jade had hope she'd sorted the dragon problem in the last book.
At 7months pregnant the last thing Jade & Kane want is trouble. But wen the council strongarm Jade & Pyper into helping them find Harper things are going to heat up, especially since Jades bundle of joy likes to control the weather.
Jade gets herself kidnapped, kane manages to find her dreamwalking and of course is her knight in shining armour once again.
Jeez, poor Jade can't seem to ever catch a break...and that is why we love her life so much, we don't have to live it. We can see the humor in the crazy from afar and that makes this series one of my all time favorite reads. Jade and her crew are like the pals you hang out at the bar to hear all their crazy stories. This time mixed in with the potentially returning Dragons, Jade is pregger, like way preggers. This installment had all the things I've come to love from this author and this group of characters...Now to just get my hands on the next book!
Oh I loved this one! Jade and Pyper get coerced into finding a missing woman, who has a link to dragons. After all Jade has been through with dragons, she's not too excited about the prospect of having them roam free.
This book had all the feels - I was frustrated, happy, in tears and angry in parts, while reading it. I love all these characters, and it's so nice seeing how their lives change and progress throughout each book. This was a great read!
Jade, who is very pregnant, is planning a bridal shower with Pyper, for their friend cat and get caught up in another adventure. The council wants them to find a fugitive or become prisoners. On top of that, they are planning this shower, dealing with fire breathing dogs and Jade's nonstop hunger. It's a great addition to the series filled with characters we know and love.
Jade is in her third trimester and is taking it easy, just helping Pyper & Kat plan their weddings and not much. Then the jerk Witch's Council forces her and Pyper to investigate a dragon issue for them. Danger & excitement ensue. There are some really neat animals in the book. It was a lovely official end to the series, though Pyper's series isn't over yet so we're sure to see more of Jade.
I loved this book a lot!! It was great to see Jade and Pyper hanging out together and then work together to solve a case. It was great to see how far the two gals have come. This book was full of twists and surprises! I enjoyed the mystery that surrounded the girls and how the dragons came to play into the storyline. Very riveting story! The narrator, Gabra Zachman did a wonderful job portraying all of the characters and using a variety of voices and inflections.
Great series ender! I love the friendship between Cat, Piper and Jade. There are a couple of wincing moments, a few eye rolling moments, and moments where the guy says all the right things. In fact, I had to keep reminding myself that that's why I read books, because no guy ever would say those things and if a guy said I was lush I would probably throat punch him. Aside from that it was everything you would expect from this series. I really love the dry humor.
If anything can happen it's going to happen to Jade and her crew. They can turn a corner and fall into something. And that something is guaranteed to be a challenge, dangerous, and at times freaking hilarious. Even hugely pregnant Jade steps up to do what's right and save the day.
Will attract those who want to abuse it. I suppose that is why Jade and the gang are always in the midst of some calamity or another. Dragons? Really? Thought we took care of that problem with connor situation!? In 🐉 dragons on bourbon street Jade and her friends will find out more about the 🐉🐉🐉. Happy reading 📚📚📚
Another great Jade book! So many funny moments, a wedding and baby to prepare for and an alligator familiar. Jade has her hands full, is supposed to be taking it easy and has a missing person to find. I found the book to be well written, unique and entertaining. Can't wait to see what happens next in Jade's life!
4.0 Feel great to wrap up a series! This was fun and a bit unnerving given Jade is pregnant and constantly in peril. I was slightly annoyed at her angst with Pyper and Kane's urgency to stay out of harms way. And the Witch's council are jerks which I am not a fan of. I am hopeful for more books in the Pyper Rayne and Jade Calhoun series, but time will tell.
I was so excited to read another Jade Calhoun book! It didn't disappoint. There was danger, excitement, love and laughter. I highly recommend the Jade Calhoun series and Pyper Rayne series.
Jade is at it again trying to help everyone. This time the story is darker, grittier but well done and worth it. Loved the realistic pregnancy details and the steaminess of Jade and Kane. Great series.
I liked it, but it was nothing spectacular. I guess I just read them to see what the characters are up to, but I feel like there’s really nothing new; just another episode in a favorite series. It could end now and I’d be fine with it. Doesn’t mean I didn’t love the series, though.
Really enjoy Jade and Jane and the gang. I want Jade to be a little more powerful. I cannot wait to find out what her daughter is like. Love the adventures.
I enjoy this series quite a bit and this book didn't disappoint. I got to read about some of my favorite characters with some fun dragon elements tossed in and a fire breathing familiar. Can't wait to read the next one.
Dragon's of Bourbon Street (Jade Calhoun Series Book 9)
Jade and the gang are now looking for missing girl from one family. This cousin are showing sign of being dragon. Can Jade and Pyper find them and will she find them before the baby come? Great story.
