Here's 3 reasons to buy this book!
1. As television continues to intrude on the experience of attending or watching the game, this title dishes out some comprehensive analysis of television's power and reach, as well as the how the American television experience in home or at the pub, contrasts with the English experience.
2. A deep dive on the EPL's model of promotion and relegation. Imagining the implications of promotion and relegation in the context of college football & basketball, the NFL and major league baseball is an opportunity to re-think American sports, too.
3. Like this book's forebearer, the written biopics on each club offer what television broadcasts cannot: a multi-layered look at each team, written by professional authors who have seen visited these clubs and now share these first-hand accounts. I have found myself watching more soccer, often with this book in hand, and enjoying the sport more than I have have before.
