I think the concept of "cutest thing ever" is not one small children are ready to debate just yet.

Also the cutest thing ever is the quokka, and this book did not have a single quokka. False advertising.

Really cute pictures. Children will think it's funny how the picture gets cuter and cuter. The book ends with a mirror so that the cutest thing ever is the child you're reading to.

It was really good until the end. I don't like those cheesy mirrors.

What is the cutest thing ever? Is it a fuzzy monster frolicking with kittens? Or perhaps it's a group of bunnies dressed as astronauts. The narrator of this brightly illustrated story is a bat, who is pretty cute in its own right, and it is determined to convince the reader that it has discovered the cutest thing in the world. Young children will be delighted by the cuteness factor being turned up to eleven, as well as the sweet surprise on the last page. Teachers could also use this to model strong voice.

Age: Toddler-Kindergarten
Fantasy: Unicorns, rainbows, monsters

Look at this fluffy, big-eyed, sparkling, freckled monster! "Isn't it the cutest?" asks the bat. Oh, well maybe it could be cuter...Bat continues to add a variety of cute things like kittens, hats, and unicorns, until Bat gets to the cutest thing in the universe: the reader (with mirror provided)! Simple but children will enjoy it.

This silly, light-as-a-feather book has its narrator introducing a parade of super-cute creatures to the reader, each goofier and more over-the-top than the next. The book's art style and aesthetic is trendy right now.

I love an interactive picturebooks, even a pretty wild and chaotic one like this! The illustrations manage to be cute and creepy at the same time and readers can come along on a contest to find the cutest thing ever with monsters and fantasy creatures with a twist ending.

My five month old was very captivated by the well-defined shapes and bright colours, and exclaimed "Heh! Heh!!!" at the mirror at the end, so that's a winner in my book. A fun take on showing babies how they can build on concepts from page to page.

I mean. Whatever. Good color palette, def an energetic "story" for super young ones. Mostly acted as another signifier for why I do not want children.

I think this would be a perfect addition to the silly monster books we read in the fall.

I'm not a huge fan of the illustrations but I love the pacing and the layout of the story makes it fun to read aloud. And yes, the cutest thing is indeed at the end of this book!

I wish I could rate this higher than five stars. When we got to the end and my three year old realized it was a mirror and SHE was the cutest thing ever, she got such a kick out of that! So cute!

This was everything I could've asked for in life and didn't know I needed up until the end when there was a stupid mirror. I don't like those. Take it away.

There was not very much substance to this book, but I could see it being good for really young children, especially with the mirror in the back. Cute pictures.
