There are two things about this beautiful novella that instantly stand out -

1. While it belongs to the hallowed hall of cyber crime thrillers, it delves deep into the mind of the victim and scans the entire scenario from a different perspective. Since the story is loosely based on author's own experiences, the perspective turns out to be quite rich and exquisite to the point each of us feel we're Tashi. And if you look closely, you'll find a honest and firm bed of sand on which beautiful words h

Satisfied with life at least for the moment, Tashi Chotten, the female protagonist of the novel, starts to scroll through social media accounts eating the crunchy chicken pieces that her mother prepared for dinner. After a lot of struggle she was able start a life she wanted - brought her mother to live with her and was doing well at job. This "so-called okayish" life of Tashi went topsy turvy when she received an email from an anonymous person - with which was attached a nude picture of her tak ...more

'What did Tashi do' is a short, pinpointed, gripping and absolutely fast paced book.
From the first line, the book is into its business- a nail-biting cyber story. The author has done a commendable job to give full justice to the whole episode in such a short read. The book is informative, contemporary and provides cautionary advice. All in a perfect way.
The situation what Tashi goes through is too tough to imagine for ourselves, but at the same time, introspectively, it is not impossible to occu

I have been a fan of the author's writing since her Quora days, so, her flair for writing doesn't come across as a surprise. Even though I was expecting it, I cannot help but be awed by her talent. It is illustrated so crisply by the way she's written this story.

The narrative is gripping and very well written. Her words paint a vivid picture of what Tashi is going through and it is so easy to relate even if you haven't gone through it all. The writing is that good. I look forward to reading mor

Absolutely fantastic book with a scintillating storyline and dynamic characters. Although the plot and overall message of the book were selfless and deep, what really sealed the deal for me was how vivid the encounters with cyberbullying were represented. Tashi is by far one of the most thought-provoking characters I have ever encountered in an Indian novel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of cybercrime and thriller novellas.

An Easy Read and Good Story

I enjoyed this.

It's not the sort of book I'd normally go for by any means, but as part of choosing to read and support Indie authors I gave it a go. A novella, it's easy to read and the story is good. Most interesting, from my perspective, was seeing the world through the eyes of a different culture (India) in terms of cyber crime, sexual exploitation and policing methods. Very interesting. I connected with Tashi and really enjoyed the tale.

The only thing I'd point out

Gripping and Real

I'm glad I read this. I picked it up after loving 'Stolen Reflections'. Though this was quite different from the earlier one, my love for this author has only grown.
This book is an eye opener for all the young girls out there who compromise with privacy on social media platforms.
Apart from the story, the illustrations, description of emotions of a vulnerable woman, suspense, anger..... all were apt.

Riveting and captivating

This story was a very easy read and one I didn’t want to put down. The way the author captured Tashi’s turmoil was very gripping. The lessons learned from the story are so very important. The lessons about cyber safety along with the more personal lessons about trust, family, & friendship.

"What Did Tashi Do?" was a fast paced cyber crime thriller story that is sure to freeze every part of you. Review : What did Tashi Do is one of a kind extremely fast paced novella follows the story of Tashi,a girl from Arunachal Pradesh who falls into the trap of cyber crime.

First off, What did Tashi Do is a one-time read and once you start reading it, you won't be able to contain yourself in the middle.

Anangsha has a way with words and I was impressed how she was successful in keeping me hooked till the very end, without giving out who the culprit is.

This highly engrossing book makes you ponder over an important question. Why is the victim put to shame when violence/bullying or any other atrocity happens against women.
The book tells the story of Tashi , a woman who is subjected to cyber bullying. Through Tashi, Anangsha tells the story of many women and the fears they face when such an incident happens to them. The ending is justified and it is a precautionary tale for many women and men out there.

This was one helluva fast-paced cybercrime thriller. The narration was quite intriguing and the characters were relatable. What enthralled me were the clifferhanger chapters and the nail-biting suspense till the end. Anangsha has conveyed an important social message in a mind-blowing manner. It is the need of the hour.

What Did Tashi Do? by Anagsha Alammyan is a suspense novella about a young woman who is being blackmailed by an anonymous person using information and pictures she thought she had shared privately. I want to start off by saying that just because I gave this story three stars doesn’t mean it’s a bad story. There were a lot of things that I thought were really well done, but there were also a few things that fell flat for me. I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference. As much as I want ...more

Technology is a wonderful thing, except when it's not.

Many of us use our phones and computers without really thinking about the potential consequences of all the social media apps and the websites we frequent or even the trails of our lives we leave behind on them for just about anyone to see. And I'd bet fewer of us think anyone will find and actually use that information against us in some way, but it's a sad possibility and a frightening one at that. But sometimes it's what we don't show the

Bold. Heart wrenching. Realistic. Meaningful.

This book portrays what many women must go through at some point in their life in some way or other. How helpless one can feel at times and how reckless one can be. As the story derives from the author's personal experience, the emotions are portrayed exceptionally, the logical consistency is maintained and dark side of technology has been explored and exposed.

I think it's a must read for youngsters especially who are more prone to be reckless. Pare

I think that justifies how gripping the book is. I must appreciate the skilled construction of the storyline and the characters.
I loved how the author portrayed what a victim goes through. Specially focusing on cyber crime which is a very serious issue. Tashi’s character felt so real. The way she dealt with the whole situation is commendable. I kept wondering the whole time if her closest friend was the criminal, but

One of the most underrated books in its genre.

I have seldom bothered reading books unless they were related to my career or business, let alone pay for them. However, this book completely changed that.

Thanks to Anangsha's superb attention to detail and beautifully vivid style of storytelling, I found the story to be a hyper-realistic experience as opposed to merely reading it. The author has carefully and skillfully managed to keep the whole story climactic until the very end, and this is not s

Alammyan's 'What did Tashi do?' is bold, gritty and an absolutely necessary story to be told in light of the growing menace of cyberbullying - more importantly - cyber sexual harassment. The writer doesn't hold back when describing some of the starkest details, which makes her writing truthful and, nonetheless, more real.
