Juliet Blake shows up at my bar, dejected after her surprise girls’ weekend goes bad. So I do the usual—mix her a drink and listen to her troubles. I’m a spontaneous guy, so I offer to help—spend the rest of the weekend with her so she’s not alone on her birthday.
I don’t expect her to end up in my bed, but when she does, it’s mind-blowing. And after a smoking hot weekend together, I realize I could use a little more Juliet in my life.
See her again? Sure. But it’s still just a fling. I have my reasons. My heart can’t take more.
Sexy bartender Finn O’Conner thinks he has the solution to my troubles. Birthday weekend gone bad? Nothing a nice drink and some hot eye candy can’t solve. And Finn is all kinds of hot.
Spending the weekend with him is impulsive—so unlike me. But throwing off my planner tendencies feels amazing—as does Finn.
I’m not supposed to fall for him. He doesn’t believe in forever. But as our weekend fling turns into a whirlwind romance, my heart will never be the same.
Weekend Fling was previously titled Could Be Forever

This is one of those... you forget about it as soon as you finish it. Nothing majorly special about this read.
It was readable but extremely predictable from the beginning. It's not a love story, a luster story. And I'm OK with that until you try to pull love into it. These two had insane chemistry but nothing else. 👎
Everything from how they meet in a bar ... etc just didn't do it for me.
These two are opposites when it comes to their way of thinking on life but help each other change just a little as time goes on. And of course their chemistry is undeniable from the start!
Love that neither of these characters was overly broken but not overly perfect either. The “hmm will they make it to forever” is a fun ride. And the twist with the ex boyfriend was fun lol
Love her friends too! So upbeat and fun! A little bit goody goody with a slight wild streak (Becca) and an outgoing fun loving part girl (Madison) with Juliet being pieces of both!
Finn—an Irish/Italian boy with an affinity for making girls swoon with his dimples lol
This story totally captivated me and wouldn’t let me go until I finished it!
Hookay so I loved this book, the sexual tension between these two characters and the innocent way it all unfolds between these two is magical.
One caveat:
Theres a "whoa there, psycho" moment and it goes to Juliet. Without giving anything away -- she's at fault for the "fall out" moment between the H and h (in my opinion).
Of Course they get their HEA and its worth it!
Enjoyable read, I recommend it! - CK does it again ;-)
This book is what I'd like to call a happy accident. I one clicked it based on a Facebook ad. I was in the process of shelving it on my Kindle, when I accidentally tapped it twice and opened it. I figured that since it was open, I might as well read a little bit of it. Wound up finishing the whole thing in a hour.....
What I loved is how naturally the story flowed. There weren't any extraneous subplots thrown in to make the story longer. Yes, it's twenty-six chapters, but it was all about the development of Finn and Juliet's romance. Everything else that happens just blends nicely into the background. And despite the angsty looking cover, it's actually a pretty lighthearted story, which I loved.
I could also really relate to Juliet feeling like she had to have a plan for her life and feeling like she hasn't accomplished much. I'm 31 years old, unmarried, and still living at home. I feel like everyone else my age is just flying through life. And even though people tell me that life just happens and there's no set age for certain things, I still feel that way.
I also find it ironic that Juliet is a professional organizer and I was supposed to be cleaning my room this afternoon instead of reading this book. Perhaps I could have used her services, lol
I absolutely love Claire Kingsley’s writing and can’t get enough of her feel good Romances with just the right amount of tension to pull at your heart. I loved Juliette’s organized and always a planner outlook on life and Finn’s take each day as it comes and go with the flow attitude. These two were opposites in every way but their chemistry was off the charts. This book was light, sexy, and definitely made me swoon. Excellent read!!
Loved the Hero, Finn. The anal heroine, Juliette falls into insta-love but is devastated and heart broken when the Hero says he'll never marry and she's known him just 9 days. I wanted to smack her.
This was such a surprise, because the plot didn't initially stand out to me, but I ended up loving this! It just read so easily and quickly and Juliet and Finn's chemistry was definitely there - this was definitely one of the steamiest books in this series so far (or maybe just the one where I felt the characters' connection the most).
I really loved the conflict surrounding Finn's commitment issues due to his past, Juliet's desire for marriage, and the way that tied into their personalities so well.
I loved this, but for a very different reason than CK's more recent series. This wasn't the most unique, emotional or character-driven book, but it was just such a joy to read. I can't wait to continue with this series now - which is such a change from how I felt early on!
I like this story, and I really like the hero, Finn (book boyfriend material) but man that instalove was really really really insta. Also, and it pains me to say this, there was too much smut and not enough relationship building. Maybe that's why the instalove bothered me. Because I could only see the lust?
(Also, there were a lot of storylines started then just dropped. What's the deal with his mother? With hers? Who knows...)
This one was very cute. Loved that Juliet took a chance on Finn and how deep their feelings developed over a couple weeks. Glad too that both of them finally realized that the length of time didn't matter, only their feelings. It was nice to see how happy they were at the end.
Weekend Fling is such a delightful read. It's quick, low stakes, and the chemistry between the MC's is off the charts! Also, Finn's irish accent is HOT 🥵😳.
The spice is well written, realistic, and not over the top. I really enjoyed getting to know Juliet and Finn and how they started a world wind romance that eventually grew into more. I wish that this book would've been longer to have the chance to spend more time with the MC's and get to know more about their story, in the present and into the future.
Juliet is sitting on her bed watching Becca and Madison rummaging through her closet and dresser drawers packing a suitcase. She's going to have to repack everything. Did they not know that she had a packing list? And things have to be folded a certain way? To top that off, her two best friends just showed up on her doorstep and told her they were going for a long weekend. She was not closing herself off on her birthday. She really didn't want to celebrate her birthday. She is getting ready to turn twenty-eight and thought she would be married by this point in her life. Instead, the man she had been dating for years decided to break up with her last month and the really sad thing was that she wasn't sad for the breakup...even though they were alike in many ways, he was rather boring in the bedroom. No matter how many times she offered to mix things up he didn't take the hint.
Her friends are refusing to give her their weekend plans telling her to stop being an over-thinking control freak. They head toward the highway and drive the several hours to Jetty Beach. She remembers coming here when she was younger and she questions their decision to spend the weekend at the beach considering the dreary rain, but they tell her there was a reason they picked Jetty Beach.
When they pull in front of an old church she looks at them in confusion. Even more confused when they hand her the first of her birthday gifts. She opens the box to find a very sexy lace negligee. Then they tell her that they scheduled her for a boudoir photo session. She decides this is the perfect time to do something spontaneous.
Finn holds the door to the Mariner's Grille for the three women exiting. They are so involved in their conversation they really don't notice his smile. Although he could eat at his bar, he decided to get a sandwich instead before heading to work. There doesn't seem to be any other customers in the restaurant and the table next to him hasn't been cleared of the dishes. Then he notices a black folder on the table. Did it belong to the women who just left?
Finn looks around feeling guilty about looking inside the folder especially when he sees Ryan Jackson Photography stamped on the front. Ryan is one of his friends and he is well aware of the type of photographs he takes. He was initially going to leave them with the waiter, but the thought of him leering at these photos turned his stomach, so instead he takes them with him and decides to call Ryan instead.
I loved listening to Ava Lucas & Richard Sawyer as they narrated Juliet & Finn's story. This story is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.
This is the first time I have listened to either of these narrators. Ava Lucas did a wonderful job bringing Juliet to life. Her voice is full of energy and just the perfect amount of frustration. Loved...loved...loved Richard Sawyer's portrayal of Finn...that accent...sigh. Reading a Claire Kingsley novel is always a treat and joy, but hearing it told through these narrators made it even better.
Highly recommend the book, Claire Kingsley and both these narrators!
This was a very good if not great opposites attract almost novella. When I say it’s not great its not because I’m trying to discourage anyone from reading it. It really is quite good. It just IMHO doesn’t rise to the level of a great contemporary romance. I’m calling it an almost novella because it was short enough for me to finish it within a few hours. But again, I found the story engrossing enough to keep me reading from start to finish. The main characters A-type planner Juliet who makes her living organizing other people’s homes and businesses and A-type fly by the seat of his pants Finn, who is a bar owner with a masters in psychology. They meet when Juliet’s girlfriends Madison and Becca plan a surprise get away weekend to Jetty Beach to celebrate her 28th birthday and then they get food poisoning leaving her to her own devices the first evening they’re in town. All the secondary characters are great too. Madison and Becca as her caring best friends. Becca is the lead character in the next book, The Good Girl Next Door. We have Finn’s two friends Lucas (who is paired with Becca) and Gabriel whom we met as Emma’s older brother in book four in the series. Gabriel is the lead male character in book 6. Neither Lucas nor Gabe really have very big roles in this story unlike Madison and Becca. There’s obvious chemistry between Juliet and Finn when she walks into his bar. After she unburdens herself of how her girls weekend to celebrate her birthday has fallen apart he offers to spend the next day showing her around Jetty Beach. A dinner at Gabe’s restaurant is followed by a night of incredible sex. One thing this book isn’t lacking in his sex scenes per pages. Finn asks Juliet to attend a family wedding the next weekend, not telling her it’s the location where a year ago he was supposed to marry his ex who breaks up with him the week of their wedding. While enjoying the pre-wedding festivities one of Finn’s cousins reveals that fact to Juliet. When she questions Finn about it he tells her he no longer believes in forever because he’s seen so many marriages fall apart, including his own parents. Juliet very much believes in marriage so the knowledge that a relationship with Finn is never going to end up there she ends whatever it is they have going and heads home. She’s miserable, he’s miserable and eventually they both separately re-evaluate their positions and reach a happy compromise they can both live with. We know the happily ever after is inevitable. It’s the journey that makes the story and this was an enjoyable journey.
Claire Kingsley has done it again with this latest installment in her Jetty Beach romance series and it has quickly become one of my all time favourites!!! The Jetty Beach series is one that you will really enjoy reading and find yourself not wanting it to end. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes an easy read with just he right amount of absolutely everything.
Juliet is far from being an impulsive person, so when her friends whisk her away to Jetty Beach to celebrate her birthday, it has her all out of sorts. Juliet is a planner who makes lists and likes to have everything in her life organized down to the smallest of details. Finn likes to go with the flow and be spontaneous which is the complete opposite of Juliet.
Juliet's birthday weekend celebration quickly gets derailed when her friends come down with food poisoning. Then fate steps in and she crosses paths with Finn; before she knows it she is throwing caution to the wind and loving it.
Finn & Juliet's HEA love story is sweet and sexy and it will draw you in from the start. This book as well as the whole Jetty Beach series is a must read!!! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on January 15 2017.
Juliet's friends, Madison and Becca, have whisked her away for a surprise birthday weekend. She HATES surprises. Their surprise is a boudoir photo session in Jetty Beach with our favorite photographer, Riley Jacobsen (Behind His Eyes).
Finn decides to get a sandwich to go at the restaurant next to his pub. As he goes to enter 3 laughing women are leaving. As he's waiting he notices a photo portfolio sitting on the table and he knows he shouldn't look especially since he knows the types of photos Riley takes. But he can't resist. And wow is she not gorgeous! He almost left it in case the women returned, but the thought of another man seeing the photos enrages him. No he'll take them and have Riley contact othe woman.
Forget smoking! This book is scorching hot!!! Love the characters. The chemistry between Juliet and Finn jumps off the page. Love the storyline and so love Finn! Highly recommend!
Book 5 of the Jetty Beach series is about Finn and Juliet and can be read as a stand alone. It is written in 1st person, with dual POV. I love the friendship that Juliet has with Madison and Becca. This friendship is what brings them to Jetty Beach to celebrate Juliet's birthday weekend. Juliet is a serious control freak, and this weekend is so far out of her comfort zone it is crazy. I loved reading as she let go of control and enjoyed life as it came. Finn also shares good friendship with Lucas and Gabe. I loved the set up for the rest of the series. I really liked how he pushed Juliet to explore by the seat of her pants. I really appreciated how the end of the book comes full circle to reflect the beginning- truly excellent. With a sweet HEA, funny moments, and plenty of heat, this book is a lot to love.
This is the third book in this series and so far all of them have been fantastic.
Juliet was whisked away for a birthday weekend by her two best friends. She is one who likes planning things and putting them in order. Her boyfriend just broke up with her and she is not looking forward to the get away. They arrive at Jetty Beach and after having pictures taken, they go out for dinner. Juliet leaves her pictures on the table.
Finn stops by the dinner to get a sandwich and sees the folder. He takes it with him so he can try to return them. Juliet’s two friend get sick so she walks to the bar that is owned by Finn.
Her and Finn have a wild time that weekend but then thing go all wrong. It takes a while but they figure things out and a BIG HEA is in their future.
Juliet is having a crappy birthday weekend when she walks into the bar and meets Finn the bartender. Since her birthday is the next day he asks her to spend the day with and she agrees. Juliet is a planner and organizer and Finn is a fly by the seat of your pants kind of guy, but the chemistry is insane. Will Juliet be able to keep going with the flow ? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. Love these characters and series. I want to move to Jetty Beach
Finn is my new book boyfriend! I fell in love with his character at the very beginning. By the middle, I wanted to strangle him, because bit by the end, he was in my good graces again. This story is so spontaneous, and the romance and passion is beyond anything I've ever read before. Once you start this book, you can't put it down! This is the second book that I have read by Claire Kingsley, and I am hooked!
I love this series and this is officially my favorite!
Organized Juliet meets laid-back Finn when her birthday weekend goes south. They have a great day....and night together. But what happens when this weekend fling turns into.so much more.
I loved everything about these two!! Absolutely my favorite of the series!
Another absolute home run by Claire Kingsley. Finn is perfect book boyfriend material. Absolutely swoon worthy. Juliet is set in her ways until she meets her total opposite and falls hard and fast. Love the way this story unfolds. Excellent read. Couldn't put it down!
