The Physician Moms Cook group chose this book as our latest to cook through from start to finish. Our world changed so much from when we started this challenge. We adapted, dug into our pantries, bookmarked recipes we want to go back to once ingredients are available but between us we cooked 80% of the recipes. Less than in past challenges because we are living in the world of corona.

I follow Tieghan Gerard on Instagram and was so excited she came out with this cookbook. She’s an awesome food photographer. I love cookbooks with beautiful pictures because it helps me to visualize what the dish should look like - and this is one of them! It also has simple, approachable and delicious recipes for every meal. I can’t wait to try some of these out! This would also make a great gift for the home cook.

Ok. I know a cookbook is not literature. But I have made eight dishes out of this book and only one I probably will not make again. Two have already joined the rotation of family meals and my family is picky. So far this book has proven to be used as much as my Ina Garten books, and if you know me, you know I cook her recipes all the time. Just sayin'.

Tieghan is a great photographer and really knows how to make every single recipe look delicious. Even the recipes that have strange ingredients or combinations sound great the way she describes them. But when it comes to taste, her recipes are very white. I don't mean any offense, but I'm used to a decent amount of flavor and seasoning in every meal. And this is not it.
Most of her recipes are very bland, heavy on dairy and bacon, unhealthy, and use ingredients that are expensive or difficult to ...more

This cookbook is fantastic! A large variety of dishes, including vegetarian (YAY!), but the best sections are the breakfast and dessert ones. I love that there are little codes above the recipes to let you know if it is one pan, or pantry staples, or less than 10 ingredients. I also really love all of Tieghan's little stories and tidbits. These definitely all seem like super-simple recipes and I can't wait to start going through what the pages I have marked with post-its (soooo many post-its!)!

Half Baked Harvest is my all time favorite food blog for recipes packed with flavor bombs that you'll crave again and again. I bought her first cookbook, but only made a few things from it because most of the recipes were fairly intimidating. Her creativity in the kitchen continues to amaze me, but most recipes are definitely a time and ingredient commitment. I was so happy to go through this newest cookbook and bookmark almost every single recipe of something delicious I can definitely see myse

Thank goodness for this cookbook! I brought it home from the library where I work when we shut down for the COVID19 outbreak. Ive been cooking from it almost every day, and will buy the Kindle version. Cooking and eating these delicious, beautiful, easy recipes has definitely kept me sane and much happier.

A welcome sophomore offering from Tieghan Gerard with wonderful full-page pictures for each recipe, easy to follow instructions and multiple cooking methods (especially welcome for people wanting to use their pressure cookers).

I've followed Tieghan on Instagram for awhile and have always loved her recipes on there. So I tried her latest cookbook and loved it. There are so many recipes in this book that I want to try - so many appealing recipes and nothing complicated. Beautiful food photography with every single recipe.

Received this for Christmas and although I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, I've read through them all and have made note of what sounds good. Love the beautiful pictures she includes with her entries!

Hands down a new favorite cookbook that my family will work their way through. We’ve already tried five of the recipes and my 15 year old son has already bookmarked many more for us to make!
The collection of recipes go from breakfast to dessert. I love how there is a picture to go with each recipe. Not to mention the photography is amazing and will have you drooling before you even get to make the scrumptious recipe.

I’m a big fan of the pictures and some of the simple recipes (Dad’s Cheesy Eggs for one), but I was disappointed the number I times I got excited about a recipe, only to be let down by the ingredient list. For example, Creamy Chicken Gnocchi Soup sounds like we're going to learn to make gnocchi, but not so fast, the ingredient list has ”1 (16-ounce) box mini potato gnocchi.” Or how about the Chicken Tortilla Soup that instead of building up a strong broth with spices and aromatics, instead inclu

Over 75% of food I cook comes from or is inspired by a Half Baked Harvest recipe. I was so excited to get this cookbook and it definitely exceeds expectations! Tieghan has a wonderful writing style, she’s friendly and funny and you feel like you’re reading recipe notes from a close friend. The recipes in this book are easy to follow, incredibly inspiring, and accompanied by the most beautiful photos. I want to make pretty much everything, but I started with the instant chicken gumbo in my new In

Apparently I rated her last cookbook before owning it or trying very many of the recipes. It's probably not very fair to rate a cookbook a full 5 stars before trying *any* of them, but I expect this will be a 5 star book as well. I've tried 80% or more (so far) of the last book's recipes, and enjoyed or loved all but maybe 1?

I seem to have picked up a habit of buying cookbooks to use them and then end up reading them for pleasure. I grabbed this volume from a messy stack of cookbooks placed on top of an impulse-buy shelf in Marshall's as I waited to check out (of course, I'm going to look at the books). I was attracted to the beautiful photos and clear directions for all of the recipes. When I got home, I started to actually read Tieghan Gerard's entries. Not only is she a brilliant cook, her words are entertaining

In Half Baked Harvest Super Simple Tieghan Gerard gives us even more delicious sounding recipes to drool over. In this cookbook she focuses on easier/more simple recipes with either few ingredients or that you can just throw in a crockpot and forget about until dinner. I really liked that in several recipes she gives several ways to make something - crockpot, instapot/pressure cooker, or stove top. That way depending on how much time you have or what kitchen tools you have you can make the recip

Hands down my favorite cookbook of 2019. The photography is scrumptious and so are the recipes. There are so many I want to try. First up are the hazelnut brownies and than an adult version of SpaghettiOs. The very simple cheesy eggs on toast might be what is for breakfast tomorrow. They’re are several recipes for Insta pots and slow cookers that also include regular stove-top versions for those who haven’t jumped on the appliance band wagon. There are a lot of yummy recipes I can’t wIt to try.

I recently purchased this cookbook and have enjoyed every recipe I've tried so far. I really like that every dish has a photograph. My favorite recipe so far is Red's Schnitzel. It was easy to make with ingredients I mostly had on hand, and it was delicious! The whole family enjoyed it. The slow cooker mashed potatoes recipe is amazing as well, though very rich.

Don't ask me how I know this--but she put Kylie Jenner's ramen recipe in here. After I saw that it was kind of hard for me to continue.
The vegetarian section looks good! However, the rest is unimpressive. I understand that recipe books need filler, but really? An entire page devoted to eggs in a hole? The next page devoted to eggs on toast? Also a lot of oil used in these recipes, which tells me that she is not cooking these dishes at the correct temperatures, or she is compensating for a lack o ...more
