My first impression of him: Rude, hostile and a huge jerk ... with a sexy booty!

He was the one who called ME to sell his huge array of antique stuff. But when we get into an argument with him calling me cheap, it was clear he regretted even finding our little shop.

And after this first encounter with the guy, I thought I would never again lay eyes on that delicious ass.

*Note. I received an ARC of LOVE ANTIQUE (Rules of Love Book 3) by Lindsey Hart in exchange for a honest review, so all thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

I liked this book more than the second book in this series - LOVE AUCTION.
I liked the female MC, Laney, however, the male MC, Hector, was a bit harder to like, but I also didn't dislike him.

This was a very emotional and heartbreaking story with a sweet HEA ending. There was grief and a lot of deep feelings, witch included lust as

You never know what small decisions lead to larger, more difficult ones. By searching for antiques, a greater treasure was found. A treasure beyond the imagination of either of Laney or Hector. Both have serious issues to work their way through before any relationship can become a reality. But it may be too much to overcome.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Laney McLean listened to the special plans her two partners had for the evening with their family and decided to volunteer to visit the customer who had some antiques to sell to them for their very successful antique business. He had said it was somewhat urgent or they would miss out on some unique items. Her partners teased her that maybe this time, she would find a man worth dating – she had really horrible luck with men. But she figured with her luck, the customer would be in his 80’s. So the ...more

Hector Erwin lost his parents and was raised by his grandparents. He was homeschooled and wasn't used to socializing because his grandparents kept mostly to themselves. After losing his grandfather and then his grandmother he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep the old homestead that had been in the family for so many years and decided to sell off the antiques and tear down the old barn they were stored in.
He came across an advertisement in the classifieds looking for antiques and

I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but I still enjoyed this book and didn't feel like I was missing out on any back story. Laney works at an antique store and agrees to go to a "pick" so her friends/co-workers can keep their date nights. When she gets to Hectors, he is very gruff and doesn't act like he wants her there, mainly because he doesn't. He is forced to sell the farm his grandparents raised him on, but it hurts. When he has a melt down, she supports him and things pr ...more

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third and final book in the Rules of Love series. In this book, Laney owns an antique store with her best friends and when they get a call about someone wanting to sell some things, she goes to the farm. Hector is selling everything from his grandparent's farm after they died and he is going to sell the farm. When he called to have someone buy the antiques from the barn, he didn't expect Laney to show up. Hector thought she was beautiful, b ...more

Really enjoyed this book!

I gave this book 4 1/2 stars. It was a good book, not my favorite of the series but it was still a good story.
This is book 3 in the Rules of Love series.
The story was about Laney one of the friends that works at the antique store.
She's had poor luck in the love/relationship aspect of her life. The business is a successful one, it's booming actually, and she has her own condo and money to take care of herself, what's missing is a nice man in her life - she's given up on

Ms. Hart is a new to me author, and I really enjoyed her writing style...Though the characters especially Hector I just wanted to smack upside the head.
Hector has recently lost his last living relative and he has to sell the family farm, but before he does that he decides he is going to sell the antiques and that's how he meets Laney.
He is use to country life, been homeschooled with only a high school diploma, raised on old school values. She is city bred, she has a degree, she's not close to he

2.5 stars

This was not my favorite story in the series. I found Laney to be annoying. She jumps to conclusions about Hectors motives when he wants to slow down the physical side of their relationship (after she snuck into his room). Then when she went to apologize for her reaction, she starts to do it again (honestly she reminded me of a heroine from a YA/NA novel, not a grown woman). Hector I could like a litt

2.5 stars. This third book in the series was my least favorite. Laney is Co-owner of an antique store and Hector is in desperate need to sell his late grandparents farm and antique furniture. At the first meeting Hector acts like a real jerk and is very hateful toward Laney, although he is the one who asked her shop to make an offer on the furniture. He resents having to sell everything just to survive. Apparently he has no skills other than working the farm, and his education ends after 12th gr ...more

I have come across Lindsey Hart before, but this is the first time that I really buckled down to read her work. And, what a nice surprise!

Just like the box that brought Laney and Hector together, I found myself another author I could definitely put on my reading list of new-to-me authors that I would love to keep.

Why? Lindsey Hart's story about two lonely people meeting by fate--one struggling to through the fact that everyone he loved--his parents, his grandma and grandpa, has left him all alon

As I said about Love Auction, I say again about Love Antique, I love this story, not only because it was base in Houston, my home, but also because this is so opposite of what we read – the damsel in distress is no longer instead is the “macho” in distress. I love that this wasn’t a story about a woman needed to be swept up and taken care of instead it was a man that was lost in soul and needed to be guided out. As always, a woman’s touch saves the day. This story is about Hector and Laney, whic ...more

This is the perfect ending to the trilogy. Laney is one of the owners of an antique shop and is the only one not married. She has dated a lot of guys most of whom have treated her badly and taken advantage of her kind nature. Due to a scheduling conflict to do an antique pick, checking out a client's antique furniture, by one of the other owners, Laney goes to check out a farm's, owned by Hector Erwin, offerings. Laney and Hector are both expecting the other one to be old. Hector and Laney both ...more

They were destined to meet
When Laney showed up to cart away Hector’s belonging’s she had no idea that both their lives would be changed forever. He’d never known his parents and with his grandparents gone, it had become increasingly difficult to maintain his family home. Hector was having a rough time letting go and that lonesome feeling had him slightly off his rocker.
Laney couldn’t stand to see Hector so dejected. She had started to care for him and even though her actions seemed self-serving,

This is the third book in the Rules of Love series. I loved this book, it is a unique story where the man in the story has personal challenges and is lead to believe basically his life is a lie as it unravels after his grandparents/parents pass away. Hector is left with cleaning up the family homestead to move forward with this life but as he attempts to make his way forward, he is sucked into the past. Laney is pulled into the mix by posting an ad to purchase antique items. Even these two are o ...more

Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed this story. I love when I discover a book that does not follow the typical romance formula. Lindsey Hart did a great job of showing that men can be sensitive and women can be strong without being overbearing. Hector was broken from so much loss in his life AND he showed his emotions! Laney had her own baggage from relationships but she was also independent and willing to go after what she wanted. I loved that Hector was the one that showed restraint a ...more

This is such an emotionally entwined story that will have you in Hector and Laney's corner. Hector just lost his grandmother and finds out that he has to sell the place he has spent his life. Laney has been assigned to go and evaluate the antiques which leads to a heated discussion between the two. When she finds items in a box that are personal she calls Hector over to her place to retrieve them and this is where their journey begins. One chapter their relationship starts, then it's 6 years later, they're married with a baby. The end! I love happy ever afters, but it's the journey of getting there that I long for. The begi

I loved it. Hector recently lost his grandmother, now he was being forced to sell the farm where he had lived all his life. He was hurting, desolate, lonely, sad, and so in need of someone important in his life. He met Laney and was scared of how she made him feel. He just knew he wasn't good enough for her so he did everything to drive her away. The more she tried to help, the more he distanced himself. Their relationship was angst-driven. Laney and Hector's story. They met at an emotional time for him. Drawn to one another, but uncertain about pursuing it. They come together in a conflagration, but baggage and past hurts interrupt, until they get that out of the way. When he reacts predictably to something she does, it had me shaking my head, saying, "I knew it. I knew he was going to do that." All in all, this was a great book. Romantic and steamy, Ms. Hart has captured the art of the romance novel. I look forward to reading mor ...more

I enjoyed reading this book because in this one, the man showed his feelings in different ways than we usually read. He captivated me with his background and simplicity. The antique dealer is another great character. She had been hurt before and became untrusting to a degree and quick to defend herself, right or wrong. Watching the story develop held my attention and I could barely keep from reading the ending before time to. The twist was great. I gave my honest opinion voluntarily for this adv ...more

3.5 stars. Sweet, with some spice, romance. Laney and her friends own an antique store where they buy, refinish, and sell pieces. Hector is in the process of selling his farm after his grandmother dies. The realtor told him that he needed to remove the barn in order to sell the house. He callls her shop to sell some furniture. Rules of Love is a series that is so easy to lose yourself in. Each book in this impressive series has an amazing storyline as well as the characters to match and Love Antique is just another example of Ms. Hart's incredible talent. Follow along as Hector and Laney take their journey together. This book packs one heck of an emotional punch.

A most unusual, untypical love story but that's probably closer to reality than all the lovey dovey stuff that probably doesn't often happen in real life. The heroine was a life force, the hero not so much but they had great sexual chemistry in spite of them being poles apart emotionally. There was a great undercurrent of something way beyond attraction but it was deep & healing. I agree with previous reviewers that the conclusion skipped too many years to be entirely satisfactory, too rushed pe ...more
