This is typical of a lot of books about acrylics, with nothing new for me. However, the step-by-step directions, while numbered are all in one big paragraph. This makes it very hard to read, as well as difficult to follow along if you are attempting to do the exercise.

I have been painting now for perhaps 70 years. Am I bored with acrylics? Not really, but I saw this book in the bookshop of a local gallery. It caught my eye. I’m always ready to learn something new. I thought perhaps this book could teach me something.

Has it?

Not much really. Most of the book is the basics of using acrylics. I guess the book needs to provide such information so that everyone’s needs are taken care of. However, for people who have been using acrylics for some time there are just a few articles towards the end that give some ideas that they might like to try. I’m still working on that.

Was the book worth what I paid for it? Not really. If I recommend it to anyone, it would be to a beginner.
