Are You My Uber? is a 21st Century parody of the 1960 P.D. Eastman children's book Are You My Mother? A man steps off the midnight bus at Port Authority. His name? Unknown. His goal? To find his Uber, an elusive Ford Taurus. Lost and alone in a new city, he steels himself and begins by passing right by the very object of his search. Hilarity the man proceeds to knock at the doors of an off-duty cab, a helicopter, a halal cart, and other vehicles increasing in their absurdity, willing to try anything to find his Uber.

Paired with illustrations by Hilary Fitzgerald Campbell, co-illustrator of Feminist Fight Club , Sarah Dooley's hilarious imagined story is as ridiculous as it is relatable.

If you want a good laugh, this is the book for you! I ran into this book at the bookstore a few days ago and enjoyed reading the author's note, so I went ahead and picked it up. And I'm super glad I did!

This little book is the same length as the picture book it parodies, Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman. In this picture book for grown ups, we follow a hapless newcomer to NYC as he searches high and low for his Uber. The tale definitely takes turns to the absurd. It's a really quick read and would likely make some travelers/New Yorkers smile, but I wouldn't say it's laugh-out-loud funny.

Very funny. Purchased this parody for my cousin in an effort to not duplicate the large amount of classic children’s books she had already received.

Unique Uber alternatives, a funny use of articles and an unexpected character really made this book stand out, while also staying true enough to the original “Are you my mother?” to be considered a parody. Enjoyable for parents and kids.
