After much urging from her partner she began to enter short story competitions in Writer's News resulting in a win and three short listed entries.
She used the Amazon KDP program to publish two of her earlier works before concentrating on her true passion - Crime.

If you’re a fan of crime fiction, you need to pick up the Kim Stone books. I can assure you, you will not regret the decision.
Whenever I enter a new detective series, I’m somewhat tentative. I read so many that I fear I have already read all of the good ones. This, of course, is a silly notion. There are so many good ones out there that I doubt I will ever read all of the good ones. Nevertheless, I’m always unsure about what I will receive. With the Kim Stone novels, I knew from book one that I was in for a good time.
Upon finishing the first book I knew I’d found another crime series I would need to keep on top of. The introduction was more than enough to leave me excited for what was to come next, and with every book that comes out I find myself pulled in deeper and deeper. Honestly, I sit there all year waiting for the next one to appear. As soon as I see details my excitement builds some more, and when I get my hands on the book all else ceases to matter. They are that good.
Each book is better than the last, with Angela Marsons going from strength to strength. Each book is a strong four star read, constantly threatening a five star rating out of me. I’m truly cruel when it comes to my five stars, I should point out, but I’m certain Angela Marsons is mere moments away from creating that solid five star Kim Stone novel. She’s been sitting just below it since book one, and with the series being so strong I’m positive I’ll look back one day and realise I was a fool for not giving a five star rating to begin with.
We’re offered up all we want in gritty crime books: mystery, great characters, moments of suspense, and all the emotion the amygdala can leave you experiencing. You will fall in love with both the characters and the stories, leaving you wanting more.
As I said, more than worth reading.

Il gioco del male: è un thriller psicologico in cui Kim Stone affronta un sociopatico spietato e una serie di omicidi cruenti. La trama è ricca di tensione e colpi di scena, anche se a volte risulta un po’ troppo intricata. La detective si dimostra un personaggio forte e vulnerabile allo stesso tempo. Pur con qualche lieve debolezza nella caratterizzazione dell'antagonista, il romanzo si guadagna quattro stelle per la sua intensità e per il modo in cui esplora la lotta contro il male.

Ennesima nuova autrice che si aggiunge alla mia lista dei libri preferiti per il genere thriller, grazie alla challenge di questo 2021.
La protagonista di questi libri è Kim Stone e la Gran Bretagna la solita ambientazione delle mie letture degli ultimi mesi.
URLA NEL SILENZIO
Il primo libro di questa nuova serie per me ci fa conoscere il detective Stone e la zona dove vive e lavora, un centro della Black Country in Inghilterra.
E' una giovane donna, intelligente, dai modi particolari, schiva che nasconde un doloroso passato, perché non desidera riesumarlo e condividerlo con nessuno, nemmeno con i diversi medici che negli anni dell'adolescenza hanno cercato di aiutarla.
Il caso che segue fa riemergere il suo passato e lo presenta al lettore un poco alla volta; così facendo, oltre al caso già coinvolgente di suo, si aggiunge la voglia di scoprire quel passato tenuto tanto segreto.
Una serie di omicidi, di persone legate tra di loro nel passato sono collegati al ritrovamento di alcuni scheletri in un campo vicino ad un orfanotrofio chiuso da anni dopo un incendio.
Kim si rivede nelle storie di quelle ragazze ritrovate scheletri, che nessuno cercava più, perché già abbandonate da anni. Lei era come loro, anni e anni passati ad entrare e uscire da case famiglia a famiglie affidatarie... una madre semplicemente pazza che vedeva nel suo gemello il diavolo e che ha lasciato morire tra le sue braccia.
Una storia che intristisce, ma che l'ha resa determinata a combattere il male, con i suoi metodi e i suoi modi di fare, che la rendono particolare. Questo suo modo particolare si nota, in particolare nei dialoghi con Bryant, collega e "unico" amico, con cui "scherza" ma anche il solo che comprende il suo carattere senza domandare.
Sono partita piano piano ma poi mi ha appassionato sempre di più e sono andata avanti molto velocemente.
IL GIOCO DEL MALE
Non mi capita mai di leggere i libri di una serie senza interruzione. Del resto, ho scoperto questa serie quando già i libri pubblicati sono già sette, se non sbaglio, e sempre grazie alla challenge di questo mese di leggere una trilogia, l'occasione è perfetta!
E ho iniziato questo secondo libro a notte fonda, appena finito il primo.
Già conosciamo Kim e la sua storia ma in questo, grazie sempre alla particolarità della storia, si approfondiscono alcuni eventi del suo passato, vengono colmate alcune lacune che erano sospese.
Il caso non potrebbe essere più distante da quello che alla fine si dimostra. Il cadavere di un uomo ritrovato in un vicolo, un uomo condannato per stupro ma libero dopo qualche anno per buona condotta. Il caso si risolve in fretta ma dietro c'è tutt'altro che la semplice e pura vendetta della vittima.
Una mano, o meglio, una mente psicopatica e perversa, di una persona che non ti aspetti "dirige e istiga" questo omicidio e anche una serie di reati successivi.
Kim intuisce tutto ciò ma non sa come smascherare questa donna enigmatica, che prende di mira anche lei, vuole manipolarla e "studiarla".... ma lei, nonostante la sua vulnerabilità, quel passato che la tormenta, non cede e riesce, anche questa volta a risolvere il caso.
Ho notato un aumento di intensità, una serie di eventi più crudi rispetto al primo libro.
Sensazione che ho ritrovato, ancora di più nel terzo libro.
LA RAGAZZA SCOMPARSA
In effetti in questa storia la crudeltà, psicologica e nel modo di come avvengo gli omicidi e altre scene, sono più forti, ben descritti tanto da "visualizzarli" mentre si legge.
E dire che la storia sembra quella meno cruenta, la sparizione di due bambine, due amiche molto legate che ripercorre un caso analogo dell'anno precedente.
Le bambine vengono rapite all'uscita di un centro sportivo; non è un classico rapimento, la richiesta di riscatto non è la classica, ma una sorta di gioco. Chi, tra le due coppie, offrirà il prezzo maggiore riavrà la figlia, a discapito dell'altra. La scelta della famiglia è accurata, non solo le bambine sono legate ma lo sono anche le famiglie. E anche qui il passato di Kim riemerge perché la madre di una delle due scomparse era una ragazza che era stata in affido insieme a Kim.
Correlati al rapimento ci sono alcuni omicidi che fanno aumentare la tensione, persone che più o meno sono entrati in contatto con uno dei rapitori.
Un intrigo che si infittisce quando entrano in scena i genitori del caso precedente e l prima scomparsa che vuole aiutare Kim a ritrovare la sua amica mai ritornata a casa.
Devo dire che tra i tre questo mi ha fatto veramente paura, alcune descrizioni mi hanno fatto venire le lacrime agli occhi.
Se non avessi letto altri libri, di altri generi, devo dire che sarei andata avanti a leggere questa serie.
La voglia di rincontrare quelli che a poco a poco diventano "persone familiari", di sorridere, nonostante tutto alle battutine tra Kim e Bryant, già mi manca e non vedo l'ora di andare avanti e mettermi in pari con le storie.

The first three books in the series are part getting to know Kim Stone, her background growing up in foster homes, the life changing event that she suffered at the hands of someone she thought loved her. This background made DI Kim Stone the dedicated police officer she is. That dedication and desire to prevent other children being hurt is what drives her every day. She sees the cruelty and sickness in other adults and wants to stop them abusing others. Some great story lines and some great characters in thd novels ensure you are rushing to get to the end. Well written, well researched, they are a good read. I am sure I will be reading further Kim Stone stories.

I absolutely love these books. I am on my second way through reading them all. The stories are completely gripping and believable. It’s written well and I love all the main characters. Whilst Kim and I may not have been friends in real life I love how her mind works and she has really grown on me and I really now love her character. Thank you for writing such a fantastic series Angela Marsons. Now then, on to books 4-6!

Non si possono dare più di 5 stelle??? Un libro, 3 thriller, con protagonista Kim Stone e la sua squadra. Mi sono piaciuti tantissimo, soprattutto il terzo che mi ha tenuto con il fiato sospeso e ho terminato abbastanza velocemente perché ne ero catturata e volevo sapere il finale😁. Non conoscevo questa scrittrice ma ora voglio leggere altro!!!!!!

I have all these on kindle but am thinking of getting the hard copies just to have on the shelf, they are that good!!
