The Elders spent centuries eliminating chaos … until the day pirates brought it all back.

16-year-old Karugo is not like the rest of his people. While everyone around him is content to live quiet lives on the peaceful Tandoku Islands, mischievous Karugo dreams of adventure. But the rest of humanity is long gone, destroyed by its own violence. The world beyond the islands is uninhabited — there’s nowhere to have adventures anymore.

Or so Karugo has always been told.

When pirates crash through the barrier that has kept the islands safe from the imperial powers desperate to claim them, Karugo suddenly finds all the adventure he can imagine—and far more danger than he bargained for.

With his perfect, boring world on the verge of disaster, the most hated boy on the island is the only one who can save them all.

Paradise Cracked by Jeff Hook is the first book in the Pirates and Powers series, a fantasy adventure inspired by shonen manga. If you love Naruto and One Piece, superpowers, conspiracies, and epic battles, you will love exploring Karugo’s world.

Who doesn't wish to have powers, or even SUPER powers? And to mix that with most of our imaginations of playing pirates growing up, looking for adventures, sailing the open sea.
This is an exciting and fun grab that really stretches the imagination! And keeps you on your toes!

I loved the action and the fun in this story. The fast-pace is really awesome and will keep you reading - definitely a page-turner. Yet fun, in many ways. I highly recommend this.
