This was another great book from a great series. There is an excerpt from a fifth book that never seen print at the end of this one; too bad it never came to be as these medieval men’s adventures are so much fun to read. Again, John Maddox Roberts tell an entertaining story with plenty of action, color and spectacle. The historical details are accurate, and descriptions of life in the early medieval age are fascinating. There are some neat flashbacks to Falcon’s youth in the Outremer during the Crusades that would make a truly excellent adventure novel if Roberts had the opportunity to write it. I recommend the entire series.

A very good historical fiction series. My only regret is it ended after only 4 books. Very recommended
